The carpet installer came out to fix my steps that were rolling and he did a wonderful job repairing them. He also looked at my other steps and noticed they were also doing it and repaired them also. I purchased flooring for an entire new build. I took in my exact blueprint, and Angela calculated the amount of flooring I needed. I trusted their expertise. Once we installed the flooring, I had 20 extra boxes! Yes, upon purchase, I was told there would be no returns, but how is that an acceptable amount of excess? When I agreed to the purchase, I felt like maybe 2 or 3 boxes but not 20 extra! Paul, the manager, agreed it was not an acceptable amount of overage but refused to do anything about it. I was not allowed to return any boxes despite their error. I regret trusting them in their field. I regret attempting to explain my dilemma to Paul who stated he understood my problem but still refused to help remediate the situation. Very poor professionalism and extremely disappointing business practices. Do not deal with these people at any point. The lack of regard for the customer far overrides the positive aspects of this business. ...Ha! Amazing how they responded. Upon posting this they then responded that "...the quote was adjusted to more materials based on your request." (Another example of this business pushing their problem off onto me, the customer.) I never questioned what was recommended to me beyond making certain I was getting a transition strip. Yes, the timeline was beyond a few months. But that does not negate the fact they grossly miscalculated and then ignored remediating the situation. I wrongly trusted their professionalism. Who's to keep them from tacking on 20 boxes or 30 or 40 onto your order? Should it really matter that the purchase was 8 months prior to? In my humble opinion, they should revisit their policy to exhibit a trust in their employees' ability to meet the customers' needs and to accurately calculate square footage. read more

installed new luxury vinyl in our house. Unfortunately when they came to install, the transition pieces weren't in yet so they couldn't install them. Since then, we've had nothing but problems. When we originally got the quote from them we asked SEVERAL times if they were POSITIVE that we didn't need underlayment. They said no, no, no. I asked again. Are you SURE we don't need it, NFM said we did? No no no. Fast forward to now. Because they didn't put underlayment down, we have a transition into our kitchen that is about an inch high. The flooring we chose only had one transition piece option and it was only for transitions as high as 1/4 of an inch so it wouldn't work. They ordered another piece, by another manufacturer, came to install and it wasn't the right color AND was a different material (wood rather than vinyl). So I told the install guy to not even waste the glue. As of 2/23/21, the last update I've gotten from them, was that they were having a piece built specifically for my transition using the veneer off of the flooring we chose. That's almost a month ago.In November,Big Bob's Flooring Outlet .We now have an 18 month old child that uses a walker who can't lift the walker over the 1 inch transition into the kitchen. So now I have a kid who can't maneuver her own home because ofBig Bob's Flooring Outlet And because they misquoted and said we didn't need underlayment, when the install guys put the quarter round in, the new flooring sat so much lower than the existing baseboards, they nailed the quarter round all to the hell to get it to stay. We paid for new quarter round and now it's useless because of ALL of the hundreds of nail holes in it. I've been more than patient. More than understanding. More than kind to them. And I'm over it. This needs to be resolved asap. If that means tearing my floors up and putting the underlayment down that should have been put down in the first place, get it done. read more

We had an amazing experience with Big Bob's!! From start to finish, everything was smooth sailing. Our saleswoman, Angela, in Liberty was awesome!! The installers were amazing! Very professional and courteous! They were on time, cleaned up and did an impeccable job! We redid our entire house almost with some carpet and a lot of hardwood!! SHADY & UNETHICAL!! BAIT & SWITCH! We, too, worked with Angela but had the total opposite experience! We ordered "In-Stock" vinyl flooring which ended up NOT being "In Stock"! Angela had to make a phone call and we were assured that it could be special ordered and delivered in time for our deadline a week and a half later. When asked, Angela had no idea whether the flooring would be delivered to the Overland Park or Liberty location. How can that be that a company does not have control of where there items are delivered?? If it was shipped to Liberty, we could pick it up on Monday. If it was shipped to Overland, we could pick it up on Thursday. I asked her to call me either way on Monday so I could get a status. Monday came and by 4:50 PM, I called her. She had gone home early for the day without calling me, as promised! The employee I spoke with looked up our order and told me it was delivered to the Overland Park location that day. Although aggravated that I didn't get the phone call from Angela, as promised, I hung up feeling much better knowing that the flooring was in Overland! WRONG!! I get a voicemail from Angela at 4:55 PM the next day. She stated that there was a problem with shipping and the flooring would not be available for pickup until Monday! We were assured that we would have it most definitely by that Thursday. Our very latest deadline was Saturday because our son-in-law was coming in from St. Louis to install it at no charge! Because of their many broken promises and assurances, it was too late to order from another company and get it by the coming weekend! Angela told me she could not help me with installation charges which would have been $300 or more! We could make another selection from their "In-Stock" vinyl . We could find nothing we liked from their "In-Stock" vinyl. Angela was pompous and rude and at one point told me, "I am the manager!". After getting nowhere with her, I asked to speak to the owner. Paul, the owner, called and left a voicemail the next morning, although I told Angela afternoon. I called him back and the conversation went just as bad, or worse! Paul gave me the excuse for the employee who told me wrongly that the flooring was delivered to Overland Park on Monday. He looked in the system and saw it was "SCHEDULED" for delivery there on Monday so just assumed it had been delivered. I told him that it shouldn't be assumed just because it was scheduled. He said with arrogance and I quote, "Oh yes it should be assumed!" We went round and around about that for several minutes before he wanted to agree to disagree! Do you believe that an owner of a business would stand behind, argue to the death and base his business on assumptions!?!? HEY, owner PAUL, how is it that an "In-Stock" item wasn't in stock at all and you didn't even have enough "In Stock" to cover a very small order for a very small bathroom? How is it that there was NO running order for this "IN-STOCK" flooring when you had ZERO "IN STOCK"? I guess another example of running your business based on ASSUMPTIONS? Bottom line, we were offered ZERO compensation for their many blunders and broken promises!! After being treated rudely by Angela and lied to yet again that we would have our flooring the following Monday which turned out to be 3 days later and a week and a half after the original delivery date, we cancelled our order for a refund. RUN, RUN, RUN from this company!! I would never, EVER do business with Big Bob's Flooring Outlet again even if they gave us flooring for free! I record ALL of my conversation so I have 100% proof of everything that was said during these phone conversations. read more

Went in to pick out carpet for living room,stairs, upper hallway and landing to room and got a decent price for install,pickup haul off and moving furniture. Quote was for $1,498 at $1.98 sq ft . My wife found a different shade of carpet and went in to try to find a match and low and behold we found the carpet and to our surprise the carpet we found was on sale for $1.39 sq ft so we where super happy thinking great now the price will be even more affordable for what we want to do. We did not need the good stuff yet because in a couple of years we are putting down wood flooring so we need something in between, Bob then begins to mess with the numbers on the computer forgetting what he quoted me on the phone and says the quote is for $1,700+ for the Cheaper carpet smdh??????. Then proceeded to tell me he could not give me the "family discount" for that carpet and what not about this manufacture and that manufacture and blah blahh blah blah and how sometimes buying the more expensive carpet gets you a better discount and if that made any sense to me huh what ?? I stood there in silence. This I do know , If my quote is for $1,498 for something that cost $1.98sq ft vs something that cost even less at $1.39 sq ft and now you are quoting me a higher price at $1,700+ then you are insulting my intelligence and I have no choice but to do business elsewhere. It sucks to I was looking forward to having the bedrooms and downstairs carpeted and in 2yrs having them lay wood flooring in he living room kitchen and upper hallway. So I would not TRUST this business whatsoever. read more
