There is a very shallow area for small children with swimming diapers which is connected to the main part of the pool. This is good and bad. Good because it keeps the whole family together. Bad because the water is super gross. Do not open your mouth in the pool. There is a bar adjacent to the pool where you can get drinks. Slow service service is slow or nonexistent. There is no one walking around taking orders. Towels are free and you don't need your magic band to get towels. There is available seating even during busy spring break. The free refill Machine at Capt. Cook's is very close. There are two lifeguards on duty. There is a beach close by with a shower and sand. Do not go in the water. The water dirty and swimming is prohibited. You will get sick if you swim in the man-made lake.

There, I encountered a peculiar spirit who led me directly to the wave pool. A tremendous wave crashed over me, releasing the spirit from my body--and, in a touching gesture of supernatural gratitude, he purchased me a cup of Dippin' Dots. In all seriousness, Typhoon Lagoon is one of my favorite water parks. The wave pool is fantastic, and Castaway Creek--the lazy river--is wonderfully relaxing. There are plenty of rides for thrill-seekers, while the entire park is beautifully themed around the aftermath of a tropical storm. Even the walking paths are thoughtfully designed, with little water sprayers keeping the pavement damp so your feet don't feel as though they're marching across the surface of the sun. There are plenty of dining and drinking options throughout the park, and the atmosphere is cheerful, immersive, and unmistakably Disney. The after-hours event is also a tremendous amount of fun, especially with the park illuminated at night. Seeing the slides, palm trees, wave pool, and storm-tossed scenery glowing after sunset gives the place an entirely different personality--almost as if the typhoon itself has returned from beyond the grave. Whether you want to relax, ride some excellent attractions, float along the lazy river, or be spiritually cleansed by a six-foot wave before receiving complimentary Dippin' Dots from a benevolent ghost, Typhoon Lagoon is well worth visiting.

I took her to the first class (30 minutes) but was unable to attend 2 classes (1 hour) because of work. 4 of the classes were canceled (2 hours) due to weather - I understand they are trying to keep us safe and this is no fault of the center, HOWEVER they only tell/txt you that the class is cancelled 5 minutes before the start time! So we had to drive over there each time only to be sent away. One of these days the front desk person told me "well, the lightning is technically 12 miles away, and the rules say we have to close the center when it's 10 miles away, but we're just going to close it anyway because it's easier." On the last day of the session they said I had to come in for a single 1 hour 45 minute session to make up all the cancelled time. I feel it is unreasonable to expect a 4-year old with ZERO previous pool experience to attend a class of this length. They were unwilling to schedule any alternatives and I was told I would just lose the money. I called and talked to people in the office twice and was told "oh well, this is how we do it." They have group classes running for 3 more weeks, but even though there are available spaces, they have refused to allow any kind of drop in, even for just one or two classes. Ultimately I feel I have wasted both my time and money here.

This hotel is like a home away from Home . Very spacious for big families and big groups. They have two and three bedroom suites, amazing restaurants, pools, and a market on site. Rates start from $200 a night during the off season and up to $400 during the high season. Access to the waterpark is included with your stay. And truly the waterpark is the best park. They have poolside service, a lazy river and lots of lifeguards standing by. The only downfall I see of this property is that is so big so there's a lot of walking. But overall it's an amazing hotel. Very close to the Disney parks and plenty of room for families. You can even do groceries and cook and if you want to. This is my go to resort when in the area. I highly recommend it.
