I have literally just walked out of this place. Within less than 2 minutes of walking through the door an old guy who obviously works there, literally stalked me up & down the aisles! I left after about 5 more minutes of his behavior. I don't know what his problem was following me around. Thanks, but no thanks! It was creepy, rude, & left me feeling harassed. The BF and I stopped in here last night. I hadn't been in, in awhile. I purchased some of my first fake food items in here from a dinning room display, so I was on a hunt for old time sake. The store is definately set in a neat and orderly fashion. It's that typical vendor to vendor booth style. My eyes kept lighting up as we walked throughout the store. It seems a majority of the store is setup as a living room/dining room and kitchen display with other rooms casusally thrown in. I love that concept. I kept getting so excited from booth to booth, it was such a pleasure walking through looking at literal antique items. I would say more on the upscale, well kept end. I wasn't paying attention to prices, so I couldn't tell you price points. I was on a literal hunt for a specific item but kept getting caught up in the booth displays. At this particular location, as opposed to across the street, I didn't see as many junk items but actual nice things. I do agree with the other Yelpers reviews as far as the employees not being super friendly, as far as asking you if you were finding everything ok or if you needed assistance. I saw one man behind the checkout area whom was busy on the phone and couldn't really tell who else worked there. But.......besides that, I could care less, simply because I had an enjoyable experience and so did the BF. Another plus was the parking lot right on the side of the building. It's a scattered haven of good old finds. I found 2 frames art pieces that I had in my online shopping cart for hundreds of dollars and for them here already framed for under $20 each! I have been, until now, been going here all my life as I grew up near by. Just moved back and bought a house, looking for furniture, antiques etc. I spent an hour looking around. Not high end but some interesting things. I picked out two things to buy and came to the front and asked to use the bathroom. I was told they don't have a public bathroom. She was not polite and I was taken aback. I told her they had a public bathroom the last time I was here. No apologies so I said, I guess I'm never coming back here again. Then the old man started screaming at me and literally kept screaming at me and followed me out of the store yelling about a dirty diaper in the toilet.Zero class. Love this place and always have a wonderful time here! Can't complain about the service - as an antique mall is a pretty independent endeavor - but my checkout experiences are always pleasant! I never know what exactly I'm going to find here and that's the beauty of it. I can say that they typically carry more household antiques opposed to nick nacks or vintage clothing. Oh, the calamity...no IKEA in St. Louis?! However shall I furnish my apartment?! Fortunately, there's plenty of independent antique shops that I'd gladly support. & who doesn't like spending the afternoon looking at unique pieces that could pass as royal heirloom? The Big Bend Antique Gallery is right across the street from Treasure Aisles Antique Mall. It's not nearly as cluttered as Treasure Aisles, & you can tell that the owners make an effort to tastefully display each & every piece (probably the MOST organized antique shop i've experience). Natural lighting illuminates the gallery. From the outside it looks as if there's not much inside, but once you walk past the display area towards the back, it's a HUGE warehouse! There are distinct aisles with various themed booths that show how each piece can be used in a room. The most exciting part of antique-ing is that you'll never know what you'll find! Tips: - Give yourself plenty of time to browse. - Make sure you eat before you go for endurance. - Keep in mind what aisle you saw a potential piece - it can get confusing when there's so much to look at. Hmmmm..... Was so excited to see this place. I was looking for Treasured Aisles, which is across the parking lot. Big Bend Antique Gallery was..... interesting. I've been reading previous reviews and wondering if we went to the same place. This place was very dusty, and most of the pieces were larger furniture items. Anything that looked "good" had a sold sign on it, the rest just looked.... tired. There were a lot of paintings too, some were originals and a variety of price points. Most of the stuff would be best termed as "junk" that you got when cleaning out Grandma's house. You know the kind..... not the stuff you kept, the stuff you got rid of. I did find several interesting china sets, and a couple of pieces of antique glass so all was not lost. read more

SCAM!!!!! They may have some nice items available to purchase but its at the expense of the original owners. DO NOT TRY TO SELL WITH THEM. They under price your items and purchase them themselves taking their large commission and then resell. Or they overprice your items so they don't sell and then again purchasing them themselves to resell taking their large 40% commission. Had both done to me and to 2 other others. Sadly I did not know prior to taking many valuable and expensive pieces to them. Very shady from the minute you enter. Avoid at all cost. read more

The booths seem kind of empty, but it's got a lot of larger pieces, so I wouldn't necessarily come here for the tchotchkes, but if you need actual furniture....sure. It shares a parking lot with Treasure Aisles antique mall, so it's a good stop to make a day of it, but if you're anything like me, you'll spend more time in Treasure Aisles than in this place. read more

If you're interested in browsing antique stores for little oddball items, this is not the place to go. They seem to specialize in furniture, artwork, and dishes. The store has a fairly open layout so it rarely feels crowded. There are some books and small knick-knacks, but mostly it's full of upscale pieces. read more

I hadn't been in this antique mall for about 4 years so when I was in the area I thought I would stop by. The bathroom was "out of order" just as it had been in the past! They had fans blowing to stave off the dampness, but you could still smell mustiness in the air. I recall it being a tad more upscale in the late '90's, but now it's just a ramshackle mess of yardsale junk, 70's and 80's kitchen items and dishes. What a huge disappointment! Don't look for a smile or a hint of respect from the staff at the register either. The woman with the long straggly hair is nasty and seems to enjoy calling you out for your supposed ignorance or stupidity. I gave her some small change with my $10 bill so I could get some quarters back and she told me that she'd never seen anyone do such a dumbassed thing in her life! Items from days gone by that should have remained gone. Not much in here new-walked in for the first time in about 6 months and it was all the same junk. Not much of quality antiques. After going to Treasure Aisles Antiques, which was a great place - friendly and helpful, I walked across the drive to Big Bend Antiques. What a Mistake!!! The shop is full of over priced junk. The owner or employees are extremely RUDE!! They are unwilling to show you any merchandise or discuss their items for sale. If the dealers in this mall are relying on them to sell their stuff they are really in the dark. After dealing with these people I will never return. After being RUDE, they were more interested in talking amongst themselves, gossiping about customers and their own dealers. It is really not a professional atmosphere. Purchased from booth 45 two fabric chairs. When we got them home, noticed they are full of cat hair. Tried to remove with tape and shop vac. Did not work. Need to have professionally clean now. Lady that answers the phone was no help. Just told me owner of booth 45 does not have pets so she must have bought them with cat hair. So I guess that makes it ok. The printed fabric hid all the hair until you rub up against them. The hair is overwhelming. I asked for a refund or partial credit to go towards the cleaning and received a big NO. Very disgusted with the owner of the booth plus how the Antique Mall is managed. The Mall said the owner will not do anything. Do not buy from booth 45. Very rude. read more

There is a decent selection, but it is quite overpriced compared to other shops in the area, but the biggest reason not to shop here is the attitude of the shop keepers. I have seen a witnessed a more discourteous and unfriendly lot of people. Don't bother asking them anything, as the answer is always "no". Store is very well put together and has a store front with a better presentation than Treasure Aisles next door (both share a parking lot, pleanty of parking spots between the two). Almost all the vendor spaces were like mini show rooms. Prices where a bit higher that other antique malls, and assume that is why they went with "Gallery" for the name. I asked if any vendors had specials or sales and was told there was some give on the prices that vendors allow, just to ask. Nice and friendly people. Overall it's an nice store but will not be returning anytime soon. read more

I would say this place has "higher end" quality of stuff then the antique store across he parking lot. After leaving the other one and going to this one I was a little overwhelmed so it was hard to concentrate on looking at things. Their A/C was out so it was REALLY hard to focus as I was sweating! There was a sign out front that said they were closing due to extreme heat. OBVIOUSLY. Get the A/C fixed. There were a lot of fans but it wasn't enough. I felt that the selection at this one was better then the one across the street so that was a plus for me. This building is in crappy condition too. Horrible water stains all across the ceiling and in certain parts there wasn't any ceiling. I wasn't able to stay there long due to the heat. Maybe I'll give it another try when it's not summer. read more

A little pricier than Treasure Aisles (across the parking lot), it's also huge and mostly well-organized. I could easily spend an entire afternoon persuring the many booths. And never fear -- there are still bargains to be had. The areas in back tend to be more affordable. I like this antique mall a lot. There are different cubicles for each vendor in this mall which is similar to most other malls, but the first thing that I noticed what that the place was clean, neat and much tidier than the other place, and I liked that. They have a wide assortment of collectables, antique and otherwise, that range from nice to kinda junky. There was a lot of glass and china, some kitchen utensil type stuff and lots of furniture. I was looking for something specific for my apartment in Terre Haute, but like the other place, I didn't find it, but I was not discouraged. I'm sure that I will find exactly what I'm looking for sometime in the future. I like this place and plan on visiting it whenever I'm around. read more

Just stopped in here for the first time in years. There is a lot of furniture, much of it done in the new trend of painting things weird colors, distressing it and then charging a crazy amount of money for it.I saw a ton of mid-century stuff I might have wanted before it was made lime green and the prices were more than I'd want to pay for something I'd have to refinish. There were also a lot of 1980s style stuff. There aren't a lot of kitschy smalls or retro lighting. The few lights I saw had pretty severe damage. read more

Charming gallery is a good choice for authentic antique furnishings of all types and price ranges. Definitely caters to the lovely, artistic and classic styles, and an roomy variety can be found. This antique mall is one of my favorites in the area. They have a great selection of quality antiques and collectibles that you can browse for hours. I can't bear to leave without buying at least one thing. I usually see several things I'd love to have. But I try to use some restraint. A more "upscale" feel to it than its neighbor, Treasure Isles, Big Bend Antique Gallery definitely has some gems. Pricing varies from booth to booth, but there are some vendors who definitely want their items to move, and those are usually the best ones. Definitely worth stopping by both of the antique shops on Big Bend. read more
