My family and I have gone to Big Al's a couple of times and have always loved their pizza. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we arrived about 30 minutes before their posted closing time and found the doors already locked and the front packed up. They only opened the door to let an employee leave, even though they were technically still open. We weren't planning on dining in, but rather coming inside to place a to-go order. It was disappointing and honestly felt disrespectful, especially since we made the effort to come during business hours. We understand that closing takes time, but customers should be able to enter and place orders until the posted closing time. We hope this is something management can address for future customers. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we won't be returning. UPDATE: Management reached out to me directly and explained that they had an unusually slow evening and made the decision to close a little early that night. While it was still disappointing at the time, I do appreciate them taking accountability and offering to make things right. I wanted to try this place out for the first time, unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity. I walked in at 7:33pm, and the employee said they closing soon. But closing time is 8pm. They turned me away. Its just me and my friend, we could not dine in because they are closing at 8pm. If you're going stop serving around 7:30 because closing time is 8pm, then change your closing time to 7:30pm. Manager: if this is not normal protocol, please have a conversation with your staff. We planned our son's 12th bday party here on Sunday April 12th, we live in San Clemente and most of our families are in Riverside so we picked this place after seeing it could accommodate our large group and had fun games for kids to play. Everything was made so easy for us, called & made a reservation (only needed to put a $50 deposit that would go to our bill later.) Too many times I've made reservations for a large party where the place dropped the ball and made a mess of our celebration but not this place. The guys working there did an amazing job handling not only our party of 30 but another large party as well as walk ins & to go orders. Everything came out quickly & everyone was so nice & helpful. Arrived here at 5pm for a hockey team dinner with about 5 families. Some had already ordered ahead of us and we ordered after. There were no other customers there but there were alot of carry out delivery orders. We ordered a large combination "Green River" pizza and a small Caesar salad. Took about 15 minutes for the salad to come out and 53 minutes for the pizza. The salad was good though there were some lettuce pieces that were not fresh that I had to pick out. The salad came with 2 small Caesar dressing containers. Pretty flavorful but on the saltier side. Needed alot of water after. The pizza is pretty thick and cheesey. Very fulfilling but so much cheese and toppings that it just fell off the slice. Good pizza with a crispy crunch. Definitely a family friendly restaurant with lots of games to play and tickets to win to trade in for prizes. At around 545pm, the restaurant picked up and got busy with a line of customers waiting to order. Not sure if I want to return next time as that's a long wait for a pizza. I don't want to sound like I'm full of ____ but I love pizza and have eaten at almost every pizza spot in Corona. Big Al's pizza was by far the best pizza I've had, possibly ever... yes, it was that good. We just had a pepperoni pizza, nothing special but the pizza was 11/10 perfect, not too thin, not too thick, pepperoni was premium and the cheese was cooked to perfection with the crust being not too hard but not soggy either. This was only my second visit here... and I'm glad to have waited to give a proper review. I was introduced to this pizza place because I go to Physical Therapy that's a couple doors down. My PT had bought us a pizza one Friday as I was one of the last patients for the day. I took a slice and ate it in my car. It was really good compared to the regular Pizza Hut or Dominos. I said to myself, I'll definitely go back for a full pie soon. This review is solely for the most recent visit today and for the level of service I received, or lack thereof. The first visit was awesome! The owner James introduced himself and took care of me. I told him it was my first time visiting and I'm coming from 20 minutes away in Chino Hills. All in all, customer service and experience was great! Excellent pizza! This second visit didn't go as well as the first. I ordered 2 white pizzas with pepperoni and bacon; one large and one medium. 20 minute wait I guess is average for two pies. But when I was finally called that my pizzas were ready, I advised the guy helping me that the pizza was for two different places. I bought one for me, and one for my PT as a thank you. I asked for two bags for condiments, 4 ranch in each bag with cheese and peppers. The guy said he could only give me 2. I told him the last time I was there, I only ordered one medium pizza and the owner gave me 4. He said he was the manager, his name is Robert and that he couldn't do that. It was against the rules. What?! I said fine, don't want to argue, please give me 2 ranch for each pizza. He said no. He could only give me 2 ranch in total. That was the rules. Robert then proceeded to let me know that if I had paid for each pizza separate, then he would've been able to give me 2 ranch each. Wth?! And he said it with that snark look that reads.. this is the bottom line and there's nothing you can say or do about it. So you're telling me if I ordered 10 pizzas on one check, I'm only getting 2 ranch? I'm actually saving the company money ordering in one check as each credit card swipe would cost them % of transaction plus base fee. I can't believe this is coming from the 'supposed' manager. Let me tell you, if Robert was managing my family's restaurant, I'd definitely have him retrained immediately. Or maybe I'd just get a new manager before my business runs down. There's no pizza out there that tastes so delicious that would offset the horrible customer service. Such a big turn off, especially for a mom and pop joint. Maybe he doesn't know, but having great customer service in a successful restaurant is just as important as having great tasting food. If you decide to come, make it easy on yourself and ask for the owner James. I'm sure he'll provide you the same excellent customer service he gave me. All front facing employees should have his same level of customer service, especially the 'manager'. read more

Five Stars Isn't Enough for Big Al's Pizza I was stressed out of my mind trying to find the right place for my daughter's baptism and first birthday. We needed somewhere that could fit over 80 people, serve food (because I wasn't about to deal with catering on top of everything else), and ideally didn't need a full Pinterest-worthy transformation to look decent. Enter Big Al's Pizza--a place we usually hit up for takeout. My husband casually suggested it, and honestly, it felt like divine intervention. I called them on a whim, and it turned out to be the best decision we made for this event. Robert, the manager, was a total lifesaver. From the first call to the last guest leaving, he and his team had everything handled. I was worried about the logistics--how it would all come together--but it went off without a hitch. We basically took over the whole place, and they made it feel like it was ours for the day. We went with their large party packages: tons of pizza, wings, drinks, and even arcade tickets for the kids. The tables were set with white tablecloths (yes, white tablecloths at a pizza place), and the staff actually came out and served our guests. They let us decorate, bring our own AV setup, and never once made us feel rushed or in the way. They were so accommodating, so helpful, and just genuinely cared that the day went smoothly. I can't recommend this place enough for a kid's party or honestly any big gathering where you don't want to break the bank but still want it to feel special. If you're debating it--don't. We ended up at Big Al's Pizza for a lunch/birthday celebration. We ended up trying different kinds of pizzas, wings, and fountain drinks. I tried the Pepperoni and meat pizza, and the bell pepper and onion pizza. Our kids had the pepperoni pizza and the pepperoni and ham pizza. I also tried the buffalo wings. The pizzas were delicious, they were soft and very cheesy. The buffalo is saucy and cooked well. It was moist and juicy inside. I love the set up of the restaurant. You order up front and then find a table, but they also have little arcades inside so you can play before/after you eat, and our little ones were enjoying their time there. I wished the paw patrol game weren't out of order, we'll try again next time. They also have a candy crane game, which is a hit with toddlers. They have 2 coin dispensers to exchange your money for tokens, and if you get tickets after you play, feed that into the ticket counter, and then go up to the front to see what kind of price(s) you can get with your tickets. Overall we all had a great time, both adults and kids. The food was good, our company was good, and of course if the kids eat and are happy, we're happy. I'd definitely come back again! We had a last-minute need for 12 extra-large pizzas for a big party, and not only did they come through , they went above and beyond. We were a little bit shocked that two large pizzas came out to $52 dollars but maybe we just haven't gotten good pizza in a while. When we picked up the pizzas the place was packed. When in Corona, this might be the place for a delicious pizza! It's a decent sized place for groups of people with high top seatings, large party seatings and lots of games and arcades for kids. I had to try the Big Al's Special pizza which comes with Pepperoni, Sausage and Meat ball: but I also added mushroom on it. The pizza was very tasty. I have to give that much. The busy was puffy and tasty and had just the perfect crisp. Ultimately pizzas these days all depend on the dough and the sauce. It's what will make one stand out from the rest. As for the pizza I'd definitely come back for pizza here if I'm in Corona. Not that it's that much of a negative but it was just too wild with kids at the arcade. That is the only down but not that big of a deal. It's a pizza lounge, and it's targeted for family and kids. Just be warned and ready for screaming kids through your entire meal. read more

We go here often and honestly it's a great local spot. The pizza is good, it's always clean, ice cold beer, and they have expanded their game section for the kids to play. Big Al's definitely has the style of pizza I personally enjoy...thicker crust, tasty sauce and fresh ingredients. If you enjoy Neapolitan style pizza, you'll really enjoy Big Al's. They also offer sandwiches and salads. Located in a strip mall on Green River Dr right off the 91 fwy. Place is kind of a throw back to when you would go with teammates after a game for pizza, drinks and games. It's suited for big gatherings with lots of tables and an assortment of games. Games spit out tickets to redeem for prizes. Dine in and take out are available. Not sure about delivery as I usually get take out. Walk up counter ordering for both dine in and take out options. Service is prompt and attentive. I've had employees offer me a drink while I wait, which is always a pleasant surprise and appreciated. It's the combination of really good pizza and really good service that keeps customers coming back again and again. Overall, I would definitely recommend Big Al's Pizza if you're craving a solid tasty pizza. read more
