The firm stated that it does not amend or change its standard engagement agreement and offered to discuss our questions by phone. We explained that we preferred written clarification because the agreement involved important financial and legal obligations and we wanted a clear record before signing. We then sent a follow-up email specifically asking for written answers. Rather than providing written answers to those questions, one attorney responded by saying it was "apparent" we were using AI to generate our responses and that he did not appreciate that form of communication. He then suggested another firm may be a better fit. We understand that some people may be comfortable with a more informal communication style or prefer to discuss important contract terms by phone. We are not. We prefer clearly communicated standards, written explanations, and documented agreements before entering into a legal representation relationship. In our opinion, prospective clients should be able to ask reasonable written questions before signing an attorney engagement agreement. We did not feel comfortable moving forward with a firm that would not provide written clarification and reacted negatively to our request for a clear written record.

Long version: Never having needed a lawyer before, "shopping around" for one was an exercise in frustration, customer service is far from a top priority at law offices I've come to realize. Between offices that would never call back when they said they would to admins who sounded like they just could not care less about what you were calling about, Anna's office was a breath of fresh air. We were able to set up a consultation in a reasonable time frame, she listened carefully to what we had to say, then clearly and rationally explained the legal grounds our case had, were it could lack, and was up front about how long and grueling the process would likely be. There were a few bumps at the very beginning (a couple things wrong with paperwork that were caught prior to their submission by us), and when we brought this to her attention, she was deeply apologetic and it never happened again. (A mistake does not bother me as long as the person who did it owns up to it and fixes the problem, which she did.) She guided us through the process with a calm and professional demeanor that helped alleviate some of the stress involved, and never once did we feel we had been left alone or in the dark about any part of the process. Preparations for mediation and court were thorough for us as clients and those who were witnesses on our behalf. Her communication times were reasonable, and the work she and her team put in matched up with every bill we received which was incredibly detailed and verifiable. We feel her prices were reasonable based on the quality of work performed - her knowledge of the law and ability to aptly apply it to our case was brilliant. Even if we had not won, her services earned the fees associated with them. Anna's services will be kept on retainer, as we have a suspicion the other party will try some other tactic in the near future. There is a reason why you cannot leave a review of her practice on Google reviews. Anna Williams frankly should not be practicing law and I hope no one ever allows her to put him or her through the nightmare Anna Williams cruelly subjected me. That is, forcing me to donate against my will $15,000 to my new abuser in exchange for her to relentlessly insult and torture me emotionally and psychologically while simultaneously making me do all the legal work I hired her to complete when she regretfully conned me into paying her a $15,000 retainer to divorce me from my extremely abusive ex-husband. Mr. Johnson has worked as a prosecutor which gives him a depth of knowledge and understanding not only of the law but his colleagues motivations as well. He was able to get the prosecutor to offer the best case scenario plea deal I was hoping for. Someone who will go unnamed kept throwing curve balls at him throughout this process. Any one of these could have resulted in the dissolution of the deal. Mr. Johnson was amazingly able to prevent this and we got the outcome we were hoping for. It is such a huge deal to be able to trust with absolute certainty that your lawyer is defending you passionately and to the best of his ability with every detail. My 89 year old mother in passenger seat and I was driving. It was like hitting a wall. We were taken by ambulance to BCH. Mother was treated in ER for a 25 mile an hour incity accident. I wish I was kidding. Mother was discharged after hours in ER to home with her injured daughter. It went down hill from there. We hired a local attorney recommended by family attorney to help us at 35% off of all money recvd. Rip off. Heenan and Cook were not in town. The insurance office that carried the policy failed to report the accident correctly when I called multiple times. (Once while sitting in the ER stretcher). In one day, mother went from independent senior to dependent senior. I went from daughter to care taker. This insurance company and their agent offices may advertise like a good neighbor but not if you are a claimant. They hired doctors who literally write medical records reviews to support the insurance company. I spent years trying to show we had a honest legitimate claim. It never occurred to me that the insurance company really did not care. The perspective was illuminating and very helpful. We needed injury attorneys in town like this office. I am still fighting after mother's decline that lead to her passing. We need more doctors that know about trauma and how to treat patients.
