I took my bike down for a service and I received an excessively large bill, the owner did not consult with me before proceeding with the work that was done. The bill was not at all transparent and was only verbally communicated. When I enquired about the size of the bill the owner of the shop appeared agitated and was evasive when quizzed on the details. The shop in general is expensive compared to other bicycle shops and internet base bicycle companies. The after sale customer service is poor, the owner spend more time trying to generate sales then resolve complaints. The pre sale experience is equally unpleasant with the owner having an unctuous manner more typical of a used car salesmen. He uses boiler room sale technique and will regularly try to get you to upgrade to a more expensive model, even if you make it clear you do not require the upgraded version. The store also only sells a limited range of bikes (all giant), which gives the consumer very little choice. And all the products the shop does sell can be purchased more cheaply elsewhere. It is on this basis that I would not recommend the use of the bicycle shop. read more
