I did want to say that their events calendar for the library is really awesome. I saw there was Friday Night Magic and movie nights on there, and that was just some of the programs they offer! There's are tonnnns! PS - The door slams super loud if you just let it close!

Getting productive in a beautiful space with a front row seat to the ocean. This library has plenty of seating options (most of which are ocean facing) with most having outlets or being near an outlet. There's a nice patio out front if you need to eat a quick bite, take a call, or pop out for a killer picture of the sunset. The entire space is adorably nautical themed with a little children's nook. It stays pretty quiet overall too! Definitely on my list of all-time favorite libraries.

Waited in line then when it was our turn the person walked away. No, be with you in a minute, just walked off. A new person came up and we had to wait while they logged in, adjusted the chair, the computer, the cup holder, then they asked what we needed help with. I explained we wanted to get cards and was directed to "go to that computer and come back when done." Ooo-kay. Went to the computer, put in info. By the time we got back to the desk (less than 5 minutes) there was a line. Person helping us seemed annoyed they had to do so. Smile cause you are on a huge tv screen as you stand there waiting for help. Got the big/little library card combo and kidlet got a coupon for their Friends of the library store for a free book. Library was spacious, had these vents/fans in the floor. Plenty of seating but the patio was closed for construction. The kids area seemed geared towards little kids and the older kid books were just kind of in the middle. The movies were nicely organized. We visited at the end of banned books week and they had a contest where they had blacked out the titles to banned books and you had to guess based on the other features of the cover what the book was. Kidlet had fun counting how many books they had read then asked why books were banned -_____- Kidlet found a good amount of books to check out (as this is the 6th library limiting them to a small bag) and we headed to the friends of shop. Didn't have a huge selection for kids but found something they wanted. Parking here was difficult. Lot was very full. It was rainy the day we were there so not sure if that is why it was busy or if it is busier in general. Would come back to this location if I don't have to interact with the put upon staff.

Amazing library curated on each floor to educate the mind…read more Sad to see that public libraries are homes of the homeless and transients. Taking showers in the bathroom. The stench is unbearable in the elevators and at times fearing for my safety. My hopes is that there is a service contract from the city to clean weekly if not twice a week. I enjoyed the music and art floors. Card catalogs still in use and you can check out a vinyl record. In the 4th floor, you can use a sewing machine or a three D printer. Fascinating. Here is also a place you can bring used books or clothes to deposit. The roof top is pretty with a rare collection section and a museum. You will also find a small high school on two floors. Worth a visit. The views are amazing from every level.

Sure, it's a library - but after spending a year hanging…read moreout in Cambridge, Boston, and other Massachusetts reading institutions, none measured up to the beauty, calmness, and amenities provided by this outlying library. I came in as a first time visitor, and was provided with a complete tour of the library. From the available events space, bookstore, computer lab, to the books. I stayed for about two hours completing work, before heading to the back deck where I watched people enjoying their time in the park with birds singing. I will certainly be a regular here moving forward.

The Chula Vista Library has a unique setup with parking right next to a park and playground, which…read moreis actually pretty cool. It's a nice spot to study, read, or just hang out for a bit. The library is also shared with individuals experiencing homelessness, and most people keep to themselves. If you mind your business, they usually mind theirs. I did have one memorable study session where someone was watching very inappropriate content on a public computerdefinitely unexpected. That said, it seems more like an occasional oversight than the norm. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Overall, it's a solid library just come with a little awareness.
