I know it would be cliche to compliment Fratelle on how welcoming they are or their great customer service because, let's face it, these are the core components of any hair salon. However I have been to places where the person who looked after me was (excuse me for me direct) rubbish and it was as if they were being friendly because it is part of their job specs. Somehow I don't feel like this at Fratelle - you don't get the fake smile and the staff are really good + you get a complimentary drink as well!

Sleek, white, and spotless Duesenberg is very stylish. The high mirrors, black chairs and minimal…read morefurnishings all draw your attention to the stylists and the clients sitting in the chairs. The attention is on your hair and seeing as you are in a hair salon, this seems appropriate. Behind the front section the salon opens out into a washing area and more mirrors, this is a little more secluded and you won't need to feel like hiding when you have tin foil sticking out of your hair at odd angles. Duesenberg is manned by the owner Rob and his wife as well as several other hairdressers and apprentices. Armed with hair dryers, scissors, brushes, combs and a hell of a lot of product, Duesenberg will change your life - through your hair. On a more serious note I really do think it's a great salon. I think the staff are wonderful and very friendly (they are always offering coffees and teas, which wins them major brownie points in my book), but I think it's just a little too expensive. That's my only issue. For a half head of foils and a cut from a senior stylist I was looking at the region of around $200. It was just a little too much for me, but if you've got the money then I recommend Duesenberg with all my heart.

The stylists will come and go, but they always select lovely staff and every person at their salon is professional, caring, respectful, friendly and good at their craft. I have always had a positive experience here - even when I have personally a bad day, they will recognise that and give me the space I need. They are good, their products are nice and their service is always exemplary. They are very caring and I recommend them heartily.

Now to understand how bad my hair was, I had been trying to highlight and tone my hair for nearly a year and had made a right mess of it. With Sabrina in charge, 3 hours later my hair was transformed. No judgement from her just lovely kind and helpful comments. I noted that other customers were treated like friends and family by the owner and other staff. Didn't try and charge more despite my long hair either! Just an all round lovely experience. Having returned from overseas where I used to get my eyebrows threaded, I set off on a quest to find the right lady to shape and thread my eyebrows. The eyebrow threader at Latif so far has been the best. She takes her time with your eyebrows, making sure that every hair that shouldn't be there is threaded or tweezed out. The whole process takes about 20 minutes and is a bargain for $15.

She was not only very sweet and friendly, she TOTALLY got got exactly what I was looking from the look at one photo I had saved on my phone. She didn't ask a whole lot of questions other than ensuring that I understood and was comfortable with just how short my hair was going to be. She did it exactly as I asked! Sometimes I've had stylists work on my hair and then at the end ask which direction I part my hair even though I walked into the salon with the part on the right! I know it's minor but how could you miss that if your business is hair? Jennifer didn't ask, not only that, she cut it dry which is great when you have wavy to curly hair so you can tell just how short it will look when the hair is dry. I will totally back next time!
