This is a great FBO. They have great service, always on top of it, will gladly order your catering and other services you might need beyond the normal. Whatever you need. We stop here often on our frequent trips to Europe and then again back from Europe. It is just a quick turn for fuel, because our little plane cannot make it non-stop. I think that the negative review was because the FBO maybe was not aware of their arrival - We have always been able to do a quick turn efficiently east bound and they ALWAYS have the truck ready, as we have to maintain an arrival slot into Europe. UNFORTUNATELY, there is ONE customs agent that makes things miserable. And, according to the FBO line service, he has a reputation of making EVERYONE miserable. He detained us for 90 minutes; keeping us in the dark; acting mysterious and secretive; would not answer questions about why it was taking so long or what he was waiting for; watching us use the urinals and not letting us flush until he inspected our urine; everything hush hush; checked all of our passports on 3 different occasions; 15 passengers on the plane and only letting one person at a time leave the room to use the restroom; prohibiting us from drinking or eating during that 90 minutes; never informing us of what was taking so long or what was happening whenever we would ask. The lineman told us as we boarded that customs was just stalling while they waited for the sniffing dog to be brought to the airport from offsite. It was the same lineman that told us that this particular agent treats EVERY passenger with the same 'secrecy' and mystery, acting like he is on a "highly classified" mission, while detaining them for over an hour each time. So it was not like we were singled out or 'randomed' or anything like that. He told us that this guy has a reputation and is notorious for doing this. The lineman told us that if he is on duty - you will be there for over an hour to clear. It was interesting to us that his reputation is so bad that everyone on the airport knows this. As a consequence, this agent has cost the FBO business - as we are no longer going to make this a fuel stop. This agent has literally taken money out of the pocket of the FBO. Which is sad, because they have great service and have always treated us with great attention and are efficient. I hate to say it, but "Good Bye, and Good Luck", we will wave as we fly past you. It is not your fault and I feel badly for this because I love to support local small businesses rather than the big Signature or Atlantic FBOs, but because of him, we won't be back. read more
