She had an excellent selection of yarns and wools from the lower cost to the higher priced lama and wool types. There was a quilting section and well as a general crafting area. I was impressed with the selection of needles, and hooks. I like a local shop like this where I can just pop over when I run out of thread or need advice. That being said I am from out of town and was vacationing for a couple of days at a local inn. I liked this place better than Mary Maxim, in the future I will be including it in my yarn runs.

I usually never give a review but I felt that I needed to do so and you'll understand why. I have…read morebought stuff before to know there are great finds any time you go. I had some clothing and footwear to sell and my mother suggested taking it here to Once Upon a Child. Before going I read the reviews and to be honest it didn't seem promising. I still went and found to notice how well of a system this place is run. As far as communication, customer service and overall experience. I also got alot more money than I thought I would for not alot of items. So don't always listen to the reviews because I will be using this service again hands down. Takes so much effort out of selling it yourself and I feel I got more money from Once Upon a Child then if I would of tried to sell it on marketplace. Just wanted to share that and it's a really cool place if people have not had the chance yet. So check it out! Chris

Awesome place! I did not realize it was so huge and had so much!!…read more Loads of yarns for the knitters; waaaay more in the way of fabrics for those of us who like to quilt or sew; and a large variety of household items - all at affordable and discounted prices. I will most certainly be back, once I finish these 4 projects I just picked up... Wowsers! Note: I am giving Len's a 4 out of 5 stars only because they don't offer upscale yarns (such as alpaca or qiviut), and because it is a warehouse. Mind you, when I expressed my pleasant surprise at what I found there to one of the clerks, she indicated that this was only a small portion of the yarns they do offer. If I ever go back and see the natural fibers I so love to knit with (over and above the sheep's wool, that is), I will most certainly post an update here. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I am eagerly and anxiously knitting away and current projects in order to get to the yarns I bought over the weekend. Happy Knitting, everyone!! Updated August 27 2012 to add that Len's Mill Stores has opened a new location in Toronto on Orfus Road! Yay!! That much closer to home (Ottawa)... Keep 'em comin'! :-)

I came across Candora Soaps, an online store that specializes in all your soaping needs, like oils, fragrances, lye, molds and packaging for the final product (great idea for homemade holiday gifts!). They also carry their own ready made products. The selection is generous without being overwhelming, the site is user friendly, easy to navigate and you can find everything you're looking for. Service is also prompt and exceptional. You can tell this is a small company run by people who are passionate about their job and truly love soap and passing the knowledge on to their customers. I had questions about colorants and the owner, Donna, was lightning fast in her email reply with great advice and even helped troubleshoot my problem another time I contacted her regarding mishaps in my soap-making. Shipping was super reasonable to Montreal, I was able to buy a big box of stuff weighing close to 10lbs and paid less than 10$ for shipping with Canada Post. For those in the area, you can opt to pick up in person. If you place your order in the morning, it ships out the same day- I was very thankful that they were able to add last minute items that I had forgotten. They called me right away and processed my credit card before everything was boxed. This is an all around A+ business. Top notch service, quality, affordability - you won't find much better!!
