She is currently 8yo and is in the intermediate class. -- She loves gymnastics and is the kid doing splits and cartwheels all over the place. She has learned real gymnastics skills in class, including round-offs, back-bends and more. -- There is a great gymnastics showcase each spring, at the end of the season (June). The girls get to show off each of the events -- floor, beam, bar. This is a great way for them to celebrate their progress and accomplishments in the year. -- There are elite level teams that one can participate on. These are invite-only. We have not been invited to these yet, but it is nice to know that the program offers plenty of room for growth and additional accomplishments. -- Scheduling is very easy, done through an online portal. You're also guaranteed your spot if you'd like to keep the same day/time mid-year (a new session technically starts in Jan). -- The instructors are great. Hailey, Mackenzie, Vincent -- really supportive, fun, give good instruction but a lot of encouragement too. -- There is wifi and a table in the waiting area. This means, if you need to log on to work during the lesson, you're able to do that, which I appreciate! There are also fun toys outdoors that siblings can play with, with supervision.

I cheered here for only one official season for my last year of all-star cheer. The previous year,…read moreI was placed on a team and practiced with them only for a portion of the summer. I was going away for a month for vacation and it was part of their attendance policy that I couldn't continue being on the team due to the absences I would accumulate, which I understood. They had asked me if I was still interested when I was back from vacation though. I decided to not cheer competitively that season to focus on school. Definitely don't come here if you can't commit. It's important to attend all of the practices because it is a team sport at the end of the day. It's not fair to others on the team either which is the reason for attendance policy. One person not showing up messes up the plan for the practice & one less stunt group to work on. Cheer gyms, in general, are tough environments to be in but coaches do mean well! The coaches never have ill intent and only want the best for you. Just know that you will miss a lot of important events such as birthday parties, etc but that's part of the commitment & what you sign up for. You can't expect to go to comps and expect to win if you only put 50% effort. Mentality & simply just showing up to put in the work plays a large role... in not only cheer but life in general. I had a great experience cheering here and wouldn't have wanted to cheer anywhere else for my last year of all-star. It is very costly but rewarding sport! Competitions are super fun and I made friends with many of my teammates, who I still keep in touch with. I was at another cheer gym closer by to where I'm from (South Shore) and this gym is superior; definitely the best cheer gym in New England. People from all over NH, Maine, MA, and I've even met people from NJ come three times a week to practice.

She also has improved every season. The coaches are top notch. The owners clearly know how to run a successful program. As a family we appreciate the time, effort and energy it takes to make great teams. Cheer is not an inexpensive sport so we especially like that there is an attendance policy. The two young women who led the event were absolutely wonderful managing several 4 and 5 year olds. Everyone had the best time, and I had parents telling me how much their kid loved it. Some said they would be signing their kid up for lessons! My one criticism is that it is pretty hard to reach someone about birthdays. I had left several messages and it took a few days for someone to return my car. It was much better once we were emailing, although I did have to email a few days before the event to confirm and ask when we could get in to decorate.

My daughter had a hard time doing kartwheels and got no help at all while practicing, and felt defeated a few weeks in a row with a specific instructor who paid no attention to help her. Other instructor were better, but not all were created equal. I found the facility dirty and smelly, but tolerated it because the kids enjoyed it. We decided to try out the summer camp the following summer and I enrolled my daughter, who was 5 at the time, in for a few weeks. It was going fine until the third day I dropped her off. She was having a hard time with me leaving, and the young instructor was not particularly helpful. She gave her some coloring pages and was sitting with her talking to other instructors as I walked out of the building. I got in my car and a few minutes later started to drive away. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw my daughter had run out of the building alone into the parking lot looking for me. I jumped out of my car in a panic and grabbed her. When I walked back into the building, there was ZERO concern that they had not supervised my child and had not even noticed she had run out of the building. They looked at me like I was overreacting when I explained my concern. I was horrified by the lack of professionalism and disregard for my child. I will never return or recommend anyone to this facility.

Tom (or "Sir" as he is respectfully known by his students) has been an ideal teacher, leader, guide and mentor for my sons. He intuitively finds the perfect balance of "firm and tough discipline" and "warm, kind, approachable," and my sons really like and respect him. It is important to note that I highly recommend Tom's martial arts academy for any child, whether highly athletic and "ready to go," or for kids who are less physically confident and more reticent to explore physical activities.
