I had the pleasure of working with Ed and Candace Keels for three years. They are two people that showed me that people of and with integrity actually exist in today's world. Both of them did what they said they would do, and when they would do it. They always followed through. They never made false hopes or did the obligatory "pat on the head". I began working with Ed, Candace, and Beyond Breakeven Inc. in early January 2012, part time, as a Project Screener. My wife, started as an Appointment Setter in early December, 2011. When I saw how happy she was, I did ask her if BBI needed a part time person to handle nights and weekends. After speaking with Ed, I knew I had to be a part of BBI! Luckily, I was accepted! In May of 2012, I was laid off from the full time employer, and Ed brought me on full time!! Now, I ask you, how often does than happen? This was the first position I had where I felt I was a part of something great, not just a number or someone that did not matter to the employer, like the one that laid me off. He really had my interest at heart!!! Ed and Candace provided me with first class training, and did not make me feel stupid whenever I asked questions or made a mistake. When a mistake was made, I was shown how and why it was a mistake. I actually got to learn from them. Ed also provided me with books to read to better myself. I still have them and read them. During my tenure with Ed Keels and BBI, I spoke with hundreds of people looking to buy or start a business. Helping people get to that point made me feel great, and really made my day knowing I was able to help them realize their dreams. My time with BBI sadly ended due to health issues in December 2014. Our experience, however, is at the very opposite end of the spectrum. We hired Ed as a consultant to assist us in figuring out what we wanted to do. He never did the work for us but rather he guided us, taught us how to think, opened doors to ideas and funding options we never would have considered. The volume of information alone was worth the fee. The previous review is, without a doubt, utterly worthless. They have nothing to share yet they leave a single star? Why bother to leave a fragmented and disjointed review when it is clearly evident no service was actually performed? As to the clauses within the contract anyone is free to read it and simply not do business with a particular company. My dream had always been to acquire a business, and I had been searching all over the country and the Internet to find business acquisition funding to accomplish that. I was able to find several promising leads, but they all turned out to be false starts. There was always some insurmountable catch to the funding (i.e. I didn't have the credit scores, experience, or assets to qualify). By finding Beyond Breakeven, I effectively found THE solution to overcoming my two biggest obstacles to buying a business! I approached Beyond Breakeven because their program is all about helping the entrepreneur that doesn't have cash, credit, or experience to not only fund their business start-up or acquisition, but also to turn this individual into a true businessperson with the skills and abilities to profitably manage his business into the future. I personally learned more from Ed Keels and Beyond Breakeven coaching me on how to truly run a business and stay profitable than I did in all my years in business school, where I received a "fancy degree" that wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. They solved my funding dilemma by first making me and my project bankable by setting me up with a credit coach who instructed me on getting my credit scores up to the "Excellent" range, which qualified me for more funding than I even needed (and from places that I didn't even know existed). Their approach is unique in that it is holistic in nature. They can get you the funding, but even more valuable than the money, they give you a real education. I thought I knew it all, where business is concerned, but I quickly learned that my book knowledge didn't stand a chance up against the real world business education that I received during my coaching sessions with Ed. As a former teacher and school administrator, I firmly believe in teaching someone to fish instead of just handing them a fish. My investment in his program was the best investment I've ever made because he "taught me to fish". For me, the knowledge I got from Ed was more valuable than the funding so much so that I decided to further expand my knowledge by working with Beyond Breakeven as a Project Screener where I was able to evaluate projects and work with other entrepreneurs who were in the same shoes as I was before I found Beyond Breakeven. I don't choose my mentors cavalierly. I'm a big believer in having only the best mentors who can help me in all the important areas of my life. Over the years, I have come to count Ed as my number one mentor. On a personal note, Ed and Candy have even encouraged me to expand my financial expertise to include such areas as personal credit and taxes. Their support was instrumental in my attaining my certification as a personal credit coach. I now have the privilege of working with Beyond Breakeven's clients and coaching them on how to attain excellent personal credit ratings. Just like Yelp says, as good as it gets! As a business owner, I know how important reviews are for companies, and typically, Yelp! has the saying of "caters to haters". most people will not go out of their way to post a positive comment. However, when things work this well, I have no reason not to. Ed and Candace over there really no how to make things work.
