They also take all my sarcasm and sass with a huge smile. I still don't like going to the dentist, but if I have to go, this is where I'd like to be. Some of the policies have changed due to COVID but they still provide the great standard and quality of care that I have come to expect from them. They send you a text for a health screening prior to your appointment, they check in again with you at your appointment and take your temperature and then you are off with your CDA/hygienist to one of the private rooms.

While waiting for my appt, there was an emergency event that happened outside the office. First responders arrived to help an individual, and to my complete shock, Dr Drew MacRae had the complete lack of empathy and respect, and THREATENED the paramedics if they didn't park somewhere else (they were barely taking up a space in a mostly empty lot). Not only was Dr Drew MacRae completely unprofessional in the matter, but showed an air of not caring when even a POLICE officer came to talk to him about his conduct. I like the hygienist Leanne and both Dr. Lamb and Dr. Lalonde. Unfortunately, we've had really negative experiences with their booking system. There have been multiple instances where a confirmed appointment was either cancelled on us at the last minute, or we've actually shown up and the appointment has been changed without being notified. This is just not acceptable for a family with 2 working parents and kids with a full schedule- working out a time for an appointment is stressful enough. I'm going to change to an office that is more reliable.

The hygienist I've seen, Irene, is fantastic. Unlike some lesser dental outfits I'v been to who seem to be making up work or looking for extra procedures to bill for, this place has explained in detail that they certainly could do this or that but that it isn't needed until it's causing a problem which I soooo appreciate. Dental isn't something folks often look forward to but coming here is a great experience and I'm looking forward to keeping up my dental health with them.

Dr. Fran is the only honest dentist that I have ever been to in my life. Her primary concern is…read morewhat every dentist's primary concern should be--and that is to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible! She does not try to convince her patients to have all kinds of unnecessary work done (like other dentists do) because she knows that nothing compares to natural teeth. Dr. Fran's conservative, respectful approach is why her patients promote her to others. Any dentist who has pure motives regarding their patient's teeth deserves to have more patients than they can handle and that is why I am writing this review. Dr. Fran is also very gentle which makes her the best dentist for children and those who are worried about pain. Finally, I must say that she is truly a wonderful person and she has a good sense of humour as well. Dianne and Anne work at the front desk and they are really nice ladies. I enjoy talking to them because they are really down to earth and compassionate. I would bring some food and drinks and sit and talk them--but they are too busy. Autumn is one of Dr. Fran's assistants and she is very friendly and up-beat. All said, Dr. Fran and the other ladies make one's dental appointment as calming and pleasant as possible. I close my eyes and get some needed rest while Dr. Fran is working in my mouth, and sometimes get to have a laugh or two during an appointment. Dr. Fran is in the Campbell River Common mall on Ironwood Street. Dollarama and Thrifty Foods are part of the same mall.
