I saw something on my Kaiser app that mentioned getting your vision checked and thought I'd take advantage since I don't have vision insurance at the moment. I'm sure everyone's insurance plan is different but I paid $59 for an eye exam/contact lens fitting which is cheaper then costco so it was a no brainer. I arrived at the location and was shocked to see a storefront like any other optometry office with the glass frame selection against the walls, etc., I forgot to take pictures. Service was amazing. Dr Hoang took so much time explaining everything to me, more than any optometrist I've had in the past. I learned in much more detail about my astigmatism, my reasons for my dry eye and though I'm too young to have this issue - I have early signs of cataract - I need to be careful about wearing sunglasses with UV protection, etc., I am so happy I decided to check them out. They are legit and I highly recommend it.

I'm so incredibly frustrated by this. It was a waste of time and energy and it's a travel vaccine so it's time sensitive. This clinic has left me to scramble for a life saving vaccine barely a week before my vacation somewhere else.

Dr. King is my primary care doctor but he also has a specialization in drug addiction medication…read more (His medical degree along with a law degree are both from Harvard although he doesn't broadcast it, which is not typical.) I initially found him because he offers the relatively new Sublocade shot - which is a godsend. Everyone in the office has and I think it's only fair to tell you how I know The Sublocade shot involved a lot of paperwork, involving a compounding pharmacy, pre-authorizations, and yet another form to verify information so that the manufacturer would cover the the cost of first two shots. It required a lot of signatures and faxing of documents in a timely manner due to the cold storage required of the injectable medicine. And they had to do this multiple times. On more than one occasion the insurer made them redo a form or they had to be refile some that expired after so many months. This medication has to be delivered several days before the appointment, signed for, and refrigerated. Everything had to be done just right, faxed to the right phone numbers, etc. If anyone would have dropped the ball than it's all for nothing. Dr. King and his staff came through every time! They return calls, answer texts on their messaging app and are just always looking out for your best interest. They were often thinking one step ahead of me. What is also special is that you can really talk to Dr. King - you can confide in him due to his life experience and non judgmental outlook. Like a good parent, he listens and he provided some good general guidance when needed. But he knows where to draw the line. His first responsibility is to be your physician, your confidante second - exactly as it should be. Most doctors do not demonstrate this kind of empathy. It's in a conveniently located in an office building just off the 10 freeway and parking is not an issue. I made him my primary care doctor and it is well worth the extra 10-15 minutes it takes from where I happen to live. They have genuinely contributed to some really important changes in my life and I'm very grateful to have found his practice.

This is the absolute worst hospital in all of Southern California bar none…read more I recently had to come to the ER for what turned out to be a false alarm, and unfortunately had to end up self-diagnosing (which we are told never to do right?), and came to the conclusion that I was dehydrated. Luckily for me everything turned out okay. However, there is a litany of issues that keeps this particular hospital in the proverbial garbage can. The poor reviews are a million percent justified, and this goes back to when this location was formerly named Brotman. The fact that the powers that be behind the hospital tried a half-ass rebranding to Southern California Hospital did absolutely nothing to change the core issues with this facility. From the initial moment you walk in, you're basically treated as a half-hearted criminal and must clear security. Imagine thinking you have a kidney stone (perhaps you do) and the first thing this location wants to do is put you through security! From there, you must navigate and advocate for yourself. The people who work behind the window partitions here are on par with bad versions of C-3PO. They have absolutely zero customer service skills, and no doubt have never heard of the term bedside manners. In essence, they're unfeeling, robotical androids who see the average person as a product. I know because unfortunately I've been here on multiple occasions throughout recent years. The level of customer service is non-existent, and on the day that I went the lone restroom inside the emergency was over flooded and not working. Imagine knowing that you need to use the restroom, here you are in the emergency room, and you can't even handle your own basic necessities. The real brutal reality is that the only reason this hospital is allowed to exist is that the city of Culver City and the rotating list of gutless Mayors and subsequent City councils continue to advocate for it-primarily for disingenuous and political reasons. But I bet you a million dollars they're not patients themselves! The past city council and mayors have tried to come off as the good guy in past years of being pro frontline emergency workers, yet the deplorable conditions that were well known when it was known as Brotman remain. My entire experience during my visit today was A++ The staff at UCLA Health West Washington is awesome. Everyone at the receptionist desk was friendly and made the checkin process very simple. Helen, the nurse who took my blood was funny, interactive, and really took care of me when drawing blood - probably the best experience I've ever had with drawing blood. Dr. Ko was direct, very professional, and very thorough. I felt very comfortable talking to Dr. Ko about my health and look forward to many years of relying on her to manage my health. Another great thing about this UCLA Health location is that they actually have a parking lot which is free. 5 stars in my book and I'm really glad that we still have medical offices here in LA that don't only look for famous patients in the film industry (hint: read my other review of another medical office)

I like the people here and wish I could give a better rating but... Buyer Beware UCLA health…read morebilling. Beware the "convenience" of the video visit. The $500 for 5 minutes call. The convenience is all for UCLA. They will charge you for an in-office visit. Additionally, if the video call is 5 minutes, they will also use a 20-29 minute in office visit code, which is their minimum charge per the billing rep. Potentially understandable if a semi-complex medical question and semi-complex medical files. That means if you have an HDHP that is $500 for a 5min phone call to ask if a common medication may be right for you. I emailed to ask for advice and they say, oh ok, let's get a video appointment. Did I know I will be charged? Yes. Did I think it would be more like $200? Yes. Was it? No. No matter how many times I asked them if this was correct after I got the bill. Did I pay it? Unfortunately, yes. Lesson learned and hopefully this review is a lesson for UCLA office to make it very clear to advise patients that a Video Visit will be charged as an in-office visit. At least offer the cheaper phone call consult. Also, 500 for an in office visit is also exorbitant. Anyways... PS. Also, beware of hidden charges for an annual visit. They tried to charge $100 for a portion of the annual screening that should havr been covered under preventive care or something they did not do (extra consultation). They force you to spend an hour with billing to get them to waive it and you have to research and explain why they made a mistake.
