I typically give businesses the benefit of the doubt and always try to support local establishments. After reading some mixed reviews, I decided to give this place a chance. Online, their listed hours said they closed at 7:00 PM. To be sure, I even called ahead and was told the same. However, when I arrived well before 5:00 PM, the door was propped open, the lights were on, and the "Open" sign was clearly displayed. A few clients were still being serviced, one technician was idle, and the atmosphere suggested they were still open for business. As I approached to sign in, I was asked what service I needed. I replied that I wanted a balance. Without hesitation, I was told, "We're closed." Confused, I responded, "Online it says you close at 7." The woman then told me, "It's 4, I have another person, and we close at 5." None of this matched the information I had received. What stood out most was her demeanor and she avoided eye contact, didn't offer any apology or explanation, and the interaction left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. There were no other customers of color present, and the experience made me feel as though I wasn't wanted there. To add to the frustration, I waited 25 minutes after leaving and called again. This time, someone else answered and again confirmed that they close at 7. As a resident of the neighborhood, it was disheartening to feel dismissed and disregarded like this, especially knowing how much my partner and I contribute to this community. I cannot in good faith recommend this business based on the treatment I received. For contrast, I drove just three minutes away to TA Nails & Spa, where I was warmly greeted, treated with respect, and received excellent service. First of all I will say, I was asked to take my temperature upon arrival, and there were partitions for social distancing. Besides that I'd wish I could've left then. But I was treating my best friend. First I was asked to pick my color, I selected 2, as I sometimes do. I handed them to the nail tech and she told me it was $3 extra. Just to apply 2 different colors?? I decided to go with one instead and settled in the chair. Still trying to figure out reazon for the extra charge, I was asked if I wanted the massage chair? Wait so the massage chair is no extra charge, but opening two bottles of nail color is? I'm confused. Meanwhile as I'm swatting gnats, I slipped my feet in the water. Perfect... Until she turns on the water and nearly burns my toes. My friend was patiently waiting as there were 3 people and only 2 nail techs working. About 15 minutes later, the other tech begins on her... I'm starting to think the chair is hurting my back more than helping... Magically, I glance over and the other nail tech has caught up and our topcoats are both getting applied at the same time. How is it that we consistently had the same type of pedicures but one took way less time? Sigh. This pedicure was worth $20, at best. We'll see if the paint job holds up. No real effort. No short massage. No lotion or oil applied afterwards. I wasn't sure she was even done. I guess the signal for completion was when she turns a long tower fan in the direction of my feet and gets up. No "all done" no "thank you" she didn't even ask me to pay. Maybe she was embarrassed $80 later. We left with our expectations lowered. I just had the worst experience at Bexley VIP Nails. After calling to verify if they had availability upon arrival, I was literally greeted with "Can't you read, you must be in the wrong place". At first I was confused but then she repeated "Can't you read "it became very clear to me that she meant was that I didn't belong there. One of the techs realized what was happening and was clearly embarrassed and nervous, the lovely white lady getting her nails taken care of, quickly hung down her head and looked away. I then checked the number that I previously dialed and verified that that was their number and she said no one could have possibly Spoken to me. I graciously said that this place was recommended by a member of the Columbus Club and I will certainly relay what my experience was in this establishment. Thank you for your time. Salon gave me a bad vibe from the start. The old woman who gave me my pedicure not only didn't speak English but had absolutely no idea what she was doing. The whole ordeal took two hours. The massage was painful, she didn't offer me a water like she did every other woman in the salon and then the loud owner said it was an extra $20 for gel....Lastly they didn't want to give me the disposable sandals and then made it very obvious they were talking about me loudly throughout the salon once they gave it to me. Pedicure was good. The salon is very nicely decorated and has a great feel for a mall nail salon. It has a nice upscale feel and atmosphere. I have to agree with another reviewer. There is one lady who is senior to the others who seems to rule the roost and watches all the manicurists. They seem to be very intimated by her and she offers a lot of unsolicited advise and input that I doubt is necessary or required. I cannot explain it other than if made me feel like all I wanted to do was leave. She needs to leave them alone and let them do their job. I would go back if I could be assured she would not be there. At least for my experience, and another reviewer who mentions her, it dampened my experience dramatically. They paid more attention to where she was and what she was trying to say to them than interacting to the person attached to the toes. The pedicure is great though, and is holding up very well. I got the VIP pedicure and it was quite nice. I recommend asking them NOT to trim your cuticles. They are not supposed to be trimmed unless you have a hang nail. They should be pushed, and the dead skin will roll off after a good soak. Cutting can lead to infection or discomfort. Google it please, cutting is not a good practice. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but this place wasn't a great experience. First let me say it's very overpriced. I paid over $50 for the most basic pedicure of my life. The pedicurist kept looking at me smiling like she was doing such a great job. I had to ask someone to tell her to scrub my feet, which she apparently didn't appreciate because she no longer wanted to look at me. Went for first time since place on Gay St was closed. I will NEVER go back. The woman was so rude and acted like she hated everything. I don't need small talk or special treatment, but wow, at least say hello. She talked incessantly the whole time to another employee. I don't know what was being said as it was Chinese. She didn't acknowledge that I was even in front of her and was a human being until the end when it was time to tip (and I still gave good tip in case they share it). She cut into my cuticle and made it bleed and said nothing. The older lady seemed nice-at least she smiled. And I got a regular manicure and pedicure and it was $53, not $42. I will go to Gay St. or anywhere else but there. I'm giving one star but it should be a negative star. I went to this nail salon because from pictures and a few reviews I thought it was a good idea to give it a try. I was far away from home and needed a balance. When I walked in the place looked really nice, and someone was able to help quickly. However, the service was not the best. First, the person who helped me was rude making judgement on the color I wanted to choose for my nails. She continued to make little comments like "are you sure?" and suggesting another color. I let it go. When she finished with my pedicure we moved over to do my balance. Everything was fine, until her appointment got there. I don't know how long she was there, but all I know is that the nail tech rushed me off the chair to have her appointment sit there. I was trying to put my shoes on and she told me I had to get off the chair. It was extremely embarrassing, and the other client even apologized for how rude that lady was. I was pissed that after paying $85+tip for these services, this is how my afternoon ended.. The drama does not end there.... NOW 4 days later, the gel on my nails has completely come up and now my nails look horrible. While there are more important things in the world... After paying almost $100 in this place, the least that could've happened is being treated respectfully, and without judgement, STAY AWAY from this place. I stopped by this new nail spa tonight around 8pm. They are located at Main and Roosevelt on the southeast corner. I didn't think they would be open, but the open sign was lit and people were inside. I parked and ventured in the open door although I noticed on the door they closed at 7pm. I asked them if they did gel manicures and they said yes and insisted I stay instead of coming back tomorrow. I got a gel manicure and a polish change on my toes. They have gelish and shellac (both last about 2 weeks on your natural nail) and a good selection of gel as well as regular colors. Quyen did my nails and she was awesome! She was very friendly, talented and accomodating. I will definitely come back here when I'm in Bexley. The spa was clean and modern, and their prices were very reasonable. This is the perfect place for a gel manicure or any other nail service. Loved it. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. First I tried to book an appointment here and was told they do not accept appointments. So I came in with my business partners for a mani and pedi. We were told they could only do one at a time (only 2 technicians doing pedis and one was already busy). The gentleman seemed annoyed from the start. He started to trim my nails (never asked how short) and kept knicking me. I told him it hurt and that he didn't need to do it. A few more people had come in and this gentleman then tells me that he 'does not have time for us because people with appointments were there now'. What!!!! This blew my mind. This place is so incredibly unprofessional, the gentleman that I dealt with was incredibly rude and couldn't even be bothered to give me a towel to dry my feet or even a bandage for my bleeding toes! I have never in all my years been cut ONCE when getting a pedicure so to be cut SEVERAL times at this one location and the guy to act as if It wasn't a concern. I went here for the first time today. And I loved it! As soon as we walked in, my boyfriend commented, "Seems clean, I like it." The nail salon is spotless! You will see the ladies putting their tools in the sanitation machine periodically. I got a Spa Pedicure by Ling Ling and she did a wonderful job! This is one of the first times that someone has did my nails and cut my cuticles without making them bleed - hooray! For that reason alone, they get 5 stars. The techs are always talking about customers when they come in their native language (its so apparent by the facial and body language) They are always taking customers before you even though you have waited for over an hour! If someone has an appointment and walks in they are taking back before you- I get it if I come at their appointment time or after, but not if I was there for over an hour before them how are they just going to go in front of me. The lady spent so much time shaping my almond nails I expected them to look great, but instead they are uneven and bulky. I would not recommend this salon for the price. My usual salon was booked, but I can get a full set for half the price and twice the quality. I also went with my friend and she is unsatisfied with her shape and color (no where near the sample color). Not only did I get a pedicure and a manicure, I got exfoliation and massage to my feet, legs, arms and hands. They also wrapped me up with hot towels (which eased my arthritis, which is why I wish they offered neck massage)! The shop is very clean and comfortable and there was NO pressure to upswell me on product or services, nor did they pressure me to leave a tip before finishing their craft!; in fact, I had to ask if it was ok to add a tip. I have been going to VIP Nails now for year and I must tell you that I have NEVER been treated with such kindness from everyone that works there. All the girls have done my nails and they are all equally professional and my nails ALWAYS look beautiful if I do say so myself. They don't hurry you out like others do and they are so accommodating.
