The folks who work here are really nice and for the most part, leave you alone to take care of what you need to take care of. It's also pretty cool that you can check to see what computers are available from a remote area as long as you go to the main UTSA website. On the ground floor, there's a cafeteria complete with Chick-fil-A, Subway, Starbucks, and a salad bar and a quick grab for sandwhiches. Oh and a sushi place that's there but not open. The prices are about the same as you would pay off campus. Just keep in mind that at least the Chick-fil-A won't have the entire menu available but they do have nuggets, chicken sandwhiches, and waffle fries there. Not sure about Subway.

This, one mid Spring morning, I decided to walk to and on the bridge with a friend. I will say, it was worth the walk. Truthfully, there is not much to see, but it does have some very nice spots to stop and look at native plants in the area. It also has some viewing boxes for sitting in the shade and observing fauna. I enjoyed the walk because it was different and it gave an alternative route to the park. I expected to see the Parkway (Wurzbach) from the bridge, but it's really not easy to see for safety reasons. However, one can see it was well planned and definitely, invites the visitor to look at the plants. During our walk, the area was a bit dry, as we have been going through a drought, but I'm sure it's spiffed up a bit with the recent rains. In any case, I do believe it is worth a visit.

(A Love Letter to Cody Branch Library)…read more My favorite neighborhood Library! Bright, calm, and welcoming, it's the kind of place where you'll see a mix of people studying, kids discovering new books, and neighbors popping in to pick up their holds. It feels like a true community space. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and everything runs so smoothly. Libraries are truly one of the best public resources we have, and Cody Branch does it especially well. One of my favorite things is using the mySAPL app to request books, and then getting the notification that they're ready for pickup. When I walk in and see my little stack waiting for me on the hold shelf, it feels like the best kind of VIP treatment. No searching, no stress! Just grab your books and go. If you haven't used the hold system through the app yet, give it a try--total game changer. Thank you Cody Branch and team!
