Whether you're thinking about waxing for the first time, just looking for an occasional service, or trying to find somewhere fresh to return to your routine, this is the place to go! Located within the My Salon Suites building (within walking distance of Trader Joe's and next to Starbucks), the Prickly Pear suite is cozy, relaxing, and incredibly clean, with warm lighting and great style - totally the opposite of the clinical feel you get from the bigger chain wax centers. I never feel embarrassed or judged during my appointments, and Colleen is incredibly considerate and easy to talk to - but she even offers a Silent Service booking option, in case chatting just isn't your thing. The prices are great and incredibly competitive, especially considering that Prickly Pear is a one-woman operation. Colleen is a pro - she has a great attention to detail, and still manages to work fast without making the appointment feel rushed. My only regret is not starting sooner, so I highly recommend supporting a small local business and booking at Prickly Pear!

They refused my service & wanted to reschedule my appointment for 2 weeks out. She had even penciled me in like I scheduled I was back in less then 30 minutes as she advised. This was not the only time they have been rude & wouldn't honor a walk. A few times I a friend and I have called in but once arrived no appointments was booked. And the front desk attendant was very rude on my first 2 visits. I noticed certain clients are treated with kindness and respect. So I started back with Pelham. I called in to see if I could do a walk in for sugaring & was told told there was only one person that did sugaring would be available but I need to be there before she left & if not I could been seen by someone else not not sugar wax . I said ok advice I would TRY TO MAKE IT there but traffic was very bad. I called once I saw it was impossible to make it & asked if I could just be seen whoever was there. Few minutes later I received a call back saying I scheduled an appointment which I never scheduled I was told if I got there in time & my name was never given they expressed this when I showed up the next day that they cancelled my last appointment. I wasn't pleased with them making me an appointment after I clearly stated I was coming from the Simpsonville location upset and they scheduled an appointment. I even paid for membership but was told I could be able to use membership only at Pelham location after I had sign & paid for membership. I was under the impression that membership could be used for any location.

The front desk clerk could have been much more polite from the time I called to when I was there. She has a rude tone, rushes you, and acts pretty immature in my opinion. Brows were getting a bit unruly and…read moreI was fed up with doing the "scissors in the mirror" cut every three days, hoping not to puncture my eye out! Drove into the parking area. Only a couple cars were in sight. This was important. I had no plan to walk into an eyebrow shop facing stares by waiting ladies. I walked in and no one was there but the owner. I asked if she could thin my brow a bit. She said "I do mens brows all the time". True or false, I felt more comfy. I told her "I don't want lady brows"! She chuckled and said "No problem". She locked the front door and escorted me back to an adjoining room with a long face up lounger. I laid on the lounger and she commenced her craft, taking thread and weaving it around and within my brows. Pluck, pluck, pluck! It's not like a facial or massage. Every pluck is like a bee sting! On the positive side it only took about 4-5 minutes. She finished and passed me a mirror for self inspection of the work. Much better, but I asked her to revisit a few graying hairs. She kindly complied. She followed up with a quick solution for the subtle stinging sensation and sent me on my way. That's about the least expensive service a guy will find these days. $12 plus gratuity was the toll. This was a 5 star visit. Don't tell my golf buddies!
