Stopped by to get a bottle as a gift. The selection is great, it's clean, and the staff is always very friendly. Special shout out to Richard and to David! Even with a lot of customers both were personable, kind, and made sure everyone was taken care of. I recommend coming here earlier in the day as it can get busier at night but that makes sense as a lot of people get drinks before a party or night out. 5 star service & work here at this location. I have been coming here multiple times a week to pick up supplies for work for close to 4 years now. In the beginning, this store was terrible. They never had my orders, they were rude, and never wanted to help. They always made me feel like I was an burden even though we gave them thousands of dollars of business. Then, corporate made the great idea to have a new GM named Ryan. The difference was night and day. I would come in, orders would be ready, everything would be stocked and the whole vibe of the store changed. What used to be dreadful, now has become an experience I enjoy. Ryan and his staff (special mention to Erin & Deb) have really changed this store and I love seeing them and working with them. This staff is seriously incredible and they have helped me make my job so much easier and seamless. Absolutely appalled by my experience at the BevMo on Sports Arena Boulevard. I went in to buy a bottle of champagne clearly marked at $17.99. When I got to the register, the cashier rings it up at $60. I pointed out the discrepancy, assuming they'd simply honor their posted price. Instead, the manager was called over and outright refused to honor it, stating it was 'below their cost.' I was left standing there, humiliated and openly challenged in front of other customers. Under California's consumer protection laws (specifically California Business and Professions Code Section 12024.2), retailers are required to honor the lowest displayed price. It's the law. Yet, here I was, being told the label didn't matter, that somehow their cost took precedence over consumer rights. For them to claim it was mislabeled - and yet make zero attempt to rectify or honor it - is not just bad customer service; it's illegal. This was blatant disregard for California's pricing laws, and a total violation of the trust we place in retailers. It felt purposefully misleading, as if they were baiting customers with low prices they had no intention of honoring. I am deeply disappointed, and I urge anyone considering shopping here to be extremely cautious - or better yet, shop elsewhere. You deserve transparency and respect as a consumer, and clearly, BevMo doesn't prioritize either. One star, only because zero isn't an option. read more

They have a decent sized parking lot, they have shopping carts for those of you who are stocking up or buying a load of booze like we were for a party. Staff is friendly, the entire place is big and well organized. Staff can direct you to just about anything you are looking for. They not only have alcohol galore, but they sell food, snacks, medications, decorative glassware, those those tiny cute umbrellas and more. We will definitely be back again! read more

Maybe I shouldn't come here again. All I was asking is for Nova Kambucha 16oz can. Tim rudely told me that they can't give me a different flavor because it comes in a 4 pack. This is a review of my first and last attempt at a pickup order here. They supposedly had the beer I ordered in stock, and I got an email to pick it up. Got there and found out they have no way of knowing which seasonal beer was ordered so of course it was the wrong item, and they didn't have what I wanted. I have been going to this BevMo since moving into the neighborhood. Lately, I have had a lot of issues with my orders, and yesterday was the last straw. First, what I like about BevMo is that they are a place with lots of different alcohols and generally reasonably priced (not bargains, but not bad). Also, it is the only place I know to get some of my favorites. Well, I have been to this BevMo four times since March (beginning of COVID days) and three out of four times, they messed up my order. I have been using these trips to stock up so that I won't have to go shopping frequently. The first time I went, they were doing curbside pickup only. That is the only time that they got my order correct, and the only time they actually brought my order curbside. The next time, I shopped in the store, and it was a decent experience. They have a line set up for social distancing, and it didn't take too long. However, when I got home, I realized that they had forgotten to pack two mini bottles of alcohol (the trial size). I didn't feel like going back, but saw on my receipt that I had unfortunately paid for them. The next time I ordered curbside pickup. It wasn't curbside, but it wasn't bad, as you only have to go inside the door. I should have checked the order, as I had ordered four cans of wine, but they actually gave me one bottle of the same brand. Yesterday I mad a large order online for curbside pickup. They emailed me back telling me that they didn't have something, but suggested a substitute that worked fine or me. When I arrived I made sure to check my order for accuracy. I noticed that they gave me a different Prosecco, but chose not to complain as I wasn't really sure which one I preferred. However, I had ordered a bag of imported cheese-filled crackers that I was really excited about, as I never had seen them outside of Europe. When I arrived, they, instead, had packed a wheel of brie of the same brand name. I pointed this out, and showed them my order on the phone. The staff member went to talk to his manager and they claimed it was correct. However the name of the product was different and the picture on their website showed that it was clearly not the case. I told him I wanted to return it as I didn't intend to buy a wheel of cheese. He pointed to the end of the line and told me to get in it. I told him I didn't want to as that was the whole reason I ordered online. He told me it was my only option or I would have to buy the cheese...utterly ridiculous and very poor customer service. To top it off, I came home to find that one of my mini bottles of moonshine had leaked all over the box it had been packed in. Honestly, they need to ensure that their website reflects their stock, they need to look at orders more carefully, and they need to improve their customer service. read more

Given the lack of good, independent liquor stores in San Diego, BevMo will have to do. This location is considerably bigger than the one in Mission Valley. The selection is as good as I have seen in these parts. Prices are a little steep, but at least ClubBev has certain items on sale. Unlike most other liquor stores, their website is pretty good and keeps an accurate tally of what they have in stock. I am starting to conclude that my liquor needs will have to be fulfilled at places like grocery stores and membership warehouses, but if you need a better selection that what they typically offer, BevMo is there for you. read more

Ohhhhhh BevMo... My feelings are so mixed up about you. You're not cheap and you're not fair. Why do you sell basic brands at such high price points? Costco is cheaper than you. Vons is cheaper than you. My favorite Mexican produce market is cheaper than you. Even the ratchet liquor store by my house is cheaper than you. But what you got going on that I can't just walk away from is options. You have all those worldly, never-seen-before brands in all funky shapes and colors and sizes that make me break my neck as I navigate the aisles. Is it going to be another $100+ on some exotic Tequila? What about that bottle of Syrah with that interesting label? Maybe I need a flashy bottle opener! Maybe I want to put on my discovery hat and explore the weird beers I never had before. What to do, what to do... Yup. It isn't that hard for me when I go to Vons for my usual $13.99 six pack of Ballast Point. What am I going to do with you BevMo? I can't help but feel finessed when you overcharge for all the familiar creature comforts but sometimes I just want a rattlesnake in my Tequila even if it'll cost me two weeks' worth of gas =( read more

I made a productive stop over that this busy BevMo for some holiday gift for a number of my colleagues. Several wine bottles were in order during this visit and I certainly came to the right place. One thing I loved about this BevMo location was that from the moment I walked in, the employees gave a loud shout out "hello," provided friendly service at the register, and gave a warm good bye as I walked out the store. They certainly made me want to come back. As for the wine, they had plenty so I picked up several bottle of s quality Malbec, some Syrah, and a bottle of California Cab. All were well priced and the Malbec and Syrah bottles were part of their 5 cent sale. There were some good deals to be had. This is a busy store given it's right off Rosecrans in the heart of the Midway District so keep that in mind. read more

This is my new store ( closest to home). I usually have a good experience however, tonight was not the best. I came here last week and tried the Montejo Cheladas was impressed. I was in the la Mesa area tonight went to the bevmo in la Mesa and they didn't carry the Montejo Chelada. I rushed over to my home store in Point Loma. I was in the store grabbing a basket at 8:58 pm and was approached by an employee, older woman, short dark or grayish hair. She raises her voice and tells me they are closed. I advised , I already know what I'm getting. She proceeded to kick me out of the store, mind you there was no huge line and I would have been in and out. After she throws her hands in the air and is holding some type of stick she continues to say, " no," and "we are closed. " I walk out and look at my phone and it's still 8:58pm. I tell her it's not even 9pm their closing time and she closes the door on me. If Bevmo closes at 8:58 or 8:59pm they should list that on the door. Please educate your employee on how to have good customer service. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone again. Lady you were a bitch and I hope you know this is not how you treat your customers. BevMo is an alcohol store chain; I wish I had something similar near me! They have a large selection of wines and hard liquors, both room temperature and cold. These weren't the reason I came; I was here for beer. We arrived one evening just before closing and the staff could not have been nicer. They asked if we needed help and showed us to the sections we were looking for. The beer at this location is in the back right corner. They have selections cold, as well as more room temperature. Mainly six-packs and cases, on this trip I just wanted some singles to stock the hotel fridge. I went with some of their promotional and sale beers as well some local ones I figured I wouldn't have time to try at the breweries. Everything was organized by type and overall divided by domestics and imports. Prices were alright, maybe a little high for how big the store is. They packaged everything in a wine box to go. One big benefit to me, is the chain is an Untappd Verified Venue. With this it was easy to make selections and save them. Thanks to the management for this support! This Bevmo has some of the best obscure beer selections in the area, not necessarily craft, but stuff that's a little more difficult to get locally. The website is usually a little inaccurate with stock, so you have to actually go. Both times I've been to this Bevmo, I've left with a 6-pack that I wasn't even looking for. read more

Just the facts: I had a $2,357.09 wedding order (I am the father of the groom) to delivered between 1pm-3pm on Saturday 9/30/2023 from the BevMo at 3210 Rosecrans Pl, San Diego, CA 92110 to The Point a wedding venue. Around 2pm when the order had not been delivered I called the store and was told the order was on the truck. At 3pm as the ceremony was starting I called the store again and ask to speak to the manager. The BevMo manager told me the the liquor actually was not on the truck and that the "3rd party shipper" hadn't picked up the order. I dispatched one of the bartenders I had hired for the event in my Hertz rental van to pickup the order. I called around 3:10pm and was told by the BevMo manager they had been unable to contact the "3rd party shipper" and offered no delivery option. The bartending company picked up the order and the bar for the wedding opened late. I called on Monday 10/2 to express my dissatisfaction with the non-delivery and was told they had a order pickup issue the day before my order. The manager who failed to have the order delivered on the Saturday of the wedding did call and apologize. The order was correct, the beer, white wine and sparkling wine was chilled. I went to the Bevmo by my house looking for an item and they were out of it. They referred me to this location, they said this was the only store around that had it. This is quite a bit smaller than the La Mesa location, but it's fairly easy to find everything. I spotted the craft beef section right away. I didn't find the beer I wanted though. It wasn't in the aisle, none of the 21st Amendment beer was. An employee came by though and asked if I needed any help. I asked about the beer because I had been assured by the manager at the other store they had plenty in stock over here. The employee steered me over to a display in the center of the store. Huh. All of the 21st Amendment beer was stacked over there. Duh. Of course Lesley. You dummy. You should've looked over there, not in the craft beer section, geez. I mean, it doesn't make sense to put a few cases in that section.. So I took my haul up to the register and of course there was only one open. Sure it would've been cool if the person in front of me had moved up a bit so I could put my stuff down, but some women are too busy thinking about hairspray or something. Eventually it was my turn and the cashier was friendly enough. I never bring my Bevmo card. I'm pretty sure it's still in whatever purse I owned when I first got it. She punched in my cell number and got me my discount. I paid and was out the door. All of this was accomplished in less than ten minutes, not bad. I'd definitely return here if I needed to. There's plenty of parking and the store is fairly easy to maneuver. The employees are helpful and friendly. And best of all they had what I wanted. read more

I was kinda sad that this BevMo is a smaller one than the one I'm used to going to in norcal.. which also means less selection. They tried to help me find my favorite Moscato wine but they didn't carry it. :( Their non-alcoholic merchandise is kinda pricey compared to other places But I know the prices of all their alcohol is really great w/ a bevmo club card. :) ALSO this is the only BevMo that carried the limited edition Armand De Brignac Ace of Spade champagne! I called so many bevmo's & other liquor stores to see if they carry this special # 1 rated champange I was searching for as a gift for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Yay!! They happened to have just 1 left & saved it for me. :) As I was checking out, the really nice lady at the checkout counter found the case & the bottle of the champage so beautiful that she had to show 4 people including co-workers & random customers before I was able to get it safely out of there. lol I was SO nervous she would drop it but phew she kept it safe & eventually let me take it home. :D read more

Brand spanking new store just opening Friday morning, November 5th, 2010. Great selection of booze, spirits, beverages, drinks, liquor-you name it. This place will surely be welcomed whole-heartedly in Point Loma. The only thing the Point lacks now is a Whole Foods store! Once inside with my $10 free gift card, I cruised the beautifully-organized aisles and was astounded by the width and breadth of offerings. But since I am kind of NOT a boozer, I merely was appreciative of the wonderful variety and selection offered here at the new location. Cute little circular rack loaded with little mini bottles of name-brand booze. Since I am making my rich brother a Tequila Gift Basket for Xmas, I was able to buy a couple of cute little Agave bottles that will do the job. Nice, helpful salespeople who high-fived everyone who came through after the ribbon was cut. Food and beverage sampling too! Even a live rock band was playing old school tunes to entertain the crowd. One BIG CAVEAT that I did impress upon the district manager. While #24 in line, 2 separate women in line allowed their daughters to come up and cut in line with them. I didn't particularly care since I knew I was going to be one of the first 250 in line to get a free gift card. But I bet #251 or #252 would not be so happy to know about all the subterfuge that was taking place up front. All those helpful green shirts smiling inside SHOULD HAVE been out walking the line out front to make sure no monkey-business was taking place.
