I had asked that the wood chips/pulp be removed from the property as the stump was from a black walnut tree. The work was done efficiently, and all debris was removed as requested. The yard was left cleaner than when he arrived. The quote for the work was slightly less than the other bids and the work very well done. This company will be my go to for all future tree needs!

My dad recommended Newcomb Tree Service, and I like them as much as he does now. Their estimate was…read moreaffordable, and they were comfortable taking down towering pines. In addition, we had one tall dead pine, leaning through the top of a healthy hardwood tree and over a neighbor's shed, all on a very steep hill. No other tree service felt 100% comfortable with how to handle this terrible tree, but they got it. The crews are big, sometimes 5 people, and they have lots of equipment which they use safely. I found Pat, Buddy and Murphy especially helpful, but the whole crew gets along well. I worked in my yard, watched, and left out water, fruit and some peanut butter crackers for the guys. I think they appreciate snacks, because they work so hard. They even worked in the rain and left the work site as neat as possible when done. A few times they had to work with our neighbors to access a tree, and they were polite and professional. Pat does the estimates, and he was honest about which trees looked worrisome. After some of the trees were taken down, we saw rot in the middle of some of them. We will use this crew again for some more bad boy pines. They are busy, so try to line them up in advance.

I was very impressed with his wood chipper and asked about getting a few loads of wood chips to help with some erosion issues around my property. I have gotten several loads of quality wood chips from Steve over the past year. My wife was not happy with the way I trimmed back the trees around our house last year, so when Steve came to drop off the last load of wood chips, I had him quote doing the job right. Steve and his crew came by a few days later and took care of the job in a safe and efficient manner at a price that I felt was fair and reasonable and less than the cost of a trip to the ER. Holbert's is a small family-owned local Mills River business that I would highly recommend, and I will definitely use again for any tree services needs!

They brought 2 loads of chips later in the summer. Then, last month a huge, healthy-looking 90' tall tree fell and I learned that 4 others were at risk of hitting buildings if they went down. There were also 2 junky cherry trees and a smaller crab apple to be taken out. Two crews (10 men) started at around 9 AM and finished at 6 PM. One man cleared a long area of brush to be covered with chips, which was my original plan before the tree fell. They ground all of the stumps, the huge root/dirt ball, spread all of the chips and cleaned up as they worked. I am very happy with their work, promptness and pleasantness.
