I would not recommend Betty McGrath as a florist.
I reside overseas and ordered flowers for my mother 60th birthday on her website. I placed the order online on Wednesday, December 20th and ordered delivery on Saturday, January 2nd. By Monday, my mother had not received her flowers so I emailed on Monday.
Betty got back to me on Thursday, January 7th! Apparently, she has a policy were she only delivers the flowers after the paypal funds have been transferred to her bank account. This is important information to exclude from your website. If her website stated these terms, I could have phoned in the order, had someone stop by, or use telaflorist. A basic expectation of a vendor that allows you to select a delivery date is to email if there is an issue regarding the delivery date. She could have notified me when I placed the order via email. That would be expecting another business owner to take responsibility for their website or having the decency to notify a client of an issue, especially when knowing that the flowers were for a milestone birthday. That simple step would have alleviated a great deal of stress and aggravation.
Betty finally responded on Thursday, 8 days after the order was placed and after I initiated a Paypal dispute. Betty answered after the funds were deposited into her account. She stated the holidays in Ireland affected delivery. She began the conversation using text lingo via email. As a fellow business owner and an adult, communicating using text lingo is unacceptable.
I asked her to cancel the order as the milestone birthday already passed and there was no point at this stage. She ignored the request and instead tried to debate the issue at hand. Never was there an apology, instead she offered to deliver a nice bouquet. The trust was gone at that stage. She just dropped the issue and never responded to my multiple requests for a refund.
I finally received a refund after submitting a Paypal dispute over a month later.
Being able to see the buyer was overseas and purchasing flowers for a mothers milestone birthday, she should have reached out if there was an issue. The payment was made via Paypal, a reliable processing service.
I would never recommend her services. Completely unprofessional and takes no responsibility for her website. read more
