At it's new location, it is harder to find but still has some of the charisma it had all those year's ago - even though it is 4km up the road. The shoex has a great range and the shop assistants are quite helpful. When I was there and wanted a pair of sneakers, they had the pair I needed (as I wear orthotics as insoles to my shoes) at $30 below what other shoe shops were charging. In terms of the other items in the store, it did not quite have the bargain nature it used to with $19 specials and $29 deals, however you will be hard pressed to find another store that is price comparable and has the same level of service. The store isn't necessarily that busy too and parking generally isn't a hassle.

If I wanted to cut down, I could probably use my casual shoes and nothing else. But women! Three thousand shoes. It's an old joke, sure, but it's one I can't get over. They only wear shoes for other women to see too. At least, they must, because I never look at a lady's shoes. Anyway, the first thing you'll notice when you enter this store is the layout. There are plenty of places to sit and wait for your love to deck her feet. Furthermore, there's a full-length mirror for you to amuse yourself by pulling funny faces. Shoppers will enjoy the full-length mirror too, as those feet-view mirrors don't quite show off how much sexier you look in that new pair of stilettos. The staff is helpful and will assault you the moment you pass through the door, but leave you alone the instant you mutter the token phrase, 'I'm just browsing', and return as soon as you appear to require the afore-offered aid. Finally, the prices are reasonable considering the quality and designer brands. That's right, ladies: designer brands! I can hardly contain my excitement.

They have two stores in the Adelaide CBD: one is "The Boutique" situated in the Central Markets, the other is "The Showroom" situated on Gouger St. They seem to be doing well judging from the amount of people that were trying on shoes - young and old, I might add. "The Showroom" store is where you will find more fashionable designer styles, while "The Boutique" store is where they specialise in comfort and work shoes with brands like Birkenstock. Here, they also do more specials, and stock more leisure and casual shoes, plus outdoor hiking shoes and boots. I bought my work shoes here a year ago. They have lasted me all this time while maintaining comfort and minimizing tired feet after an 8 hour shift at the cafe where I work. With their wide range and friendly, knowledgeable service, Lana Lang is a trustworthy place to shop. Oh, and they also do repairs and alterations for affordable prices.

The shop front is a gaudy yellow colour so it is easy to spot from a distance. Regardless of the signage and appearance of the shop, they do an excellent job of repairing anything and everything. I have had bags fixed and shoes repaired that would otherwise have been thrown out. So if you have something you think is irreparable but is much loved, give this shop a go.

Ideal Shoe Repair performs a great service to the local residents, workers and passers by as they cut keys and repair leather goods and the prices are reasonable. Besides selling hand bags they also sell lugguage and accesories like belts, shoe laces, shoe inserts and scraves plus jewellery and umbrellas. Being a dealer in leather they also sell leather protection such as polish, sprays and sealants for leather and suede, even motor bike accesories. Service is fast and friendly and keys are cut on the spot unless there's a few to do and depending on their work load, but overall a great long standing shop which has recently seen a facelift.

So I hope I inspire a few of you to go and check it out. There's a good range of summer clothes and when I was here today, I looked through a long rack of 50% off clothes but alas didn't have my size. Talking about size the range goes from about an 8 to 16 and price wise is very good from approximately $15 to $80. I looked on their website which mentions every Saturday they have 'happy hour' from 10 - 11am as everything is 10% off. Now this is something very unique and I haven't seen or heard of any other clothing store doing such a promotion. Well done Ruby for some lateral thinking.
