Hiring Better Music Services for both the DJ and photobooth for my wedding was one of the best wedding planning decisions I made. Mick was extremely friendly and easy to work with from day one. He is honest, professional, and knows what he's doing. The price was very affordable and for the quality of the music, MCing, and photo booth is was an amazing deal. They helped my wedding run smoothly and seamlessly, without a single hitch. The dance floor was the place to be at my wedding and our DJ kept the crowd grooving and moving. I highly recommend bundling the DJ with the photo booth. I was a little skeptical because it was a very reasonable price but I was blown away by the quality of the pictures. I am so happy that my guests were able to take home a high-quality set of their photo booth pics, and much to my delight, Mick sent me a copy of ALL the photo booth pics!!!! This company truly went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Better Music Services for your wedding. read more

Seriously the dance floor was the place to be at my wedding and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mick! Everyone was dancing... the whole time... it was perfect. Mick is professional, honest, helpful and truly a great person to work with. I researched a ton of DJs, got at least 5 other quotes, and he was the most affordable and the most willing to work with us on our special requests. He also came recommended to me by another friend so I knew I was going to get quality service. We wanted the regular wedding-type of dance music, plus top 40/pop, and (here's the kicker) Persian dance songs to be played. Most of our guests weren't Persian & so it was definitely a risk. My BIGGEST fear was that when those Persian songs came on, the majority of our guests would run off the dance floor, go to the bar or just sit down while my close family kept dancing ---- alone. But somehow Mick was able to build the perfect vibe and kept everyone out there having an amazing time despite the random mix of genres. I highly, highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to help make your wedding perfect in every way :) read more

Just days before my reception, I was in a panic hunting for a photobooth that was available and also priced fairly. I stumbled upon Mick at Better Music Services and immediately noticed how professional, responsive and accommodating he was. His prices also can't be beat! The attendant August was also very friendly and kept his cool even with all the kids running around with the props. He arrived punctually and was communicative throughout the entire process. He made sure the photos did not come out too dark and everyone loved them! I received digital copies the very next day and I was able to share them with my guests. I would 100% choose Better Music Services for their photobooths for my next event! Thanks again Mick! read more

Mick is Amazing! Mick @ Better Music Services made our Wedding so special. We can't say enough good things about him! He blended in and was unnoticeable playing the best music that had people even dancing in their seats for dinner. And when it was time for toasts or cake cutting he appeared to guide us through or introduce the next speaker. Really really wonderful and kind. The BEST DJ we've ever experienced at a party, glad it was OUR Wedding. EVERYONE was on the dance floor and said it was the most beautiful and most fun Wedding they'd ever been to!! We were really impressed with Mick. AND he came highly recommended to us by another couple who's wedding he DJ'd. read more

We like to say that Mick and Peter from Better Music Services really made our wedding more than we expected. From the time that they showed up they were on point through out the event. They made our Ceremony really special from the beginning to the end. At the Reception Mick and Peter were fantastic. They were non-stop from intro of the Bridal Party to the last dance. Mick even help a few ladies dancing on the dance floor. They were really amazing MC as well. He performed the Intro of the Bridal Party, introducing the Bride and Groom. They MC the First Dance, Father & Daughter Dance, Mother & Son Dance, Anniversary Dance, Garter Toss, Bouquet Toss, Money Dance and Cut the Cake event. We highly recommend Better Music Services for all you DJ/MCing needs, they will go beyond what you expect and they services are very reasonable. Also to let you know we were impressed for the fact that Mick has uplighting, gobo projection and spot light for our cake. Thanks Better Music Services for making our Wedding Day fabulous. read more

These guys did the music for my wedding last April. My site coordinator recommended them, and I am so glad she did. Mick worked with me on my, shall we say, "limited" music budget as well as on the playlist. (I was picky to say the least, but my entire wedding revolved around The Beatles in all their hippie glory, so, obviously, the right music was a huge priority.) When the party was underway, Twist and Shout came on and the dance floor was gloriously packed with people of all ages dancing their hearts out, and in a day full of memorable moments, that one truly stands out in my memory. Seriously, if you're in the LA area, find a way to work their services in to your budget because they are so incredibly worth it. They were real professionals who know how to use music to set the mood, and get the party going. read more

Mick has a fantastic team at Better Music Services. He was easy to work with and kept things simple. We used both DJ and photo booth and I was so impressed with the timeline set up to make sure the music was flowing before guests arrived. The photo booth was a HUGE hit. It was so high quality and all the props were so fun and festive. The pictures were high quality and our guests loved leaving the party with a reminder of the evening. We look forward to working with Better Music again!! read more

Excited to say we had Mick and Better Music DJ our wedding in summer 2015 (and I'm just getting around to the review, whoops). They were fantastic. Professional, friendly, and excellent at what they do. They really do more than DJs - they kept the event running seamlessly and then delivering a great night of music that kept the crowd dancing! Mick also did a fun game during cake time that the crowd loved. Highly recommend!!! read more

I cannot write enough wonderful things about Mick! I was married on 03/27/10 and was fortunate enough to find Mick right here on yelp.com. And let me tell you...he is FANTASTIC! Right away we were on the same page with the music selections...he knew every single song that I mentioned and the perfect place to put them throughout our evening. He was professional and just plain wonderful to work with. If you are having an event requiring a DJ in the LA area...I cannot recommend Better Music Services enough to you!!!!!!! read more

Mick was so amazing! We really felt like he wasn't just a DJ, but genuinely helped facilitate the whole wedding and made sure the evening went off without a hitch! His communication was great throughout the whole planning process. He cared a great deal about what we liked, and wanted to make sure that the music was a reflection of our taste. His prices were incredibly reasonable compared to other DJs we were interested in, and he even provided uplighting for the reception at a fraction of the cost that the rental company wanted to charge us. He came super early to set up and was very respectful toward the owner of our venue and made sure to follow the guidelines about outdoor music. Mick helped with transitions from location to location (within one venue but it would have still been very tricky without him) and made sure that my bridal party and family/friends were ready for cues and toasts. At the reception, he played every song that was important to us but also had a great feel for what music needed to be played to keep everyone on the dance floor. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone looking to have a great time but also anyone who likes the extra comfort of knowing that you have a dj/mc who actually cares and will help coordinate your entire event. Mick (Better Music Services) did a fantastic job DJing my sister's wedding. As a DJ, he had great intuition about what music to play and when, and knew how to select music to get multiple generations out on the dance floor. As a person, he really went above and beyond at the wedding and was super helpful throughout, even filling in as emcee as needed and helping out wherever he could. He has a great personality and great sense of humor which makes him wonderful to work with. Would definitely recommend him for weddings or other big events. read more

Mick and his team are fabulous! His team DJed my wedding, my sister's wedding and several other family and friends. Mick has clear communication ahead of the event and his team is always friendly and definitely always has a good read of the dance floor. Whether it's Mick or another team member they are all professional and super friendly and work to make the event special, memorable, and welcoming for all involved. Mick, thanks for helping create such wonderful memories for me and my family! read more

Mick is a true professional and super easy to work with. I was looking for a DJ with karaoke and a photo booth for my wife's 40th birthday party. His prices easily beat the other 3 or 4 places I contacted. I thought there was a catch... but there was no catch. Our DJ did a great job as did our photo booth operator. They had a plan, knew what they were doing, but also were very flexible and had great customer service skills. They arrived early to set up and stayed all through the event. I will definitely contact them again and would highly recommend. read more

I cannot recommend Mick and his team enough. Better Music Services was suggested by our planner Carole at Bright Blue Events (I have the same sentiments for her and BBE as well)- and we couldn't have been happier with the music at our wedding. Mick is incredible, he was so excited to be a part of our wedding and helped us immensely throughout the process of planning our playlist. Mick sent two of his best to DJ on our wedding and people were RAVING about the music. So many people asked us for the playlist- both during and after the wedding. When you have your family, parent's friends, and your own friends all dancing and having a blast at the same time- you can't ask for anything more. They are the best of the best. read more

We did a lot of DJ interviews but Better Music was the first one and all the others had to try, and in most cases fail, to impress us as much. Mick and Peter are personable and enthusiastic and they were happy to help us hash out the wedding schedule as well as fit music to the events. We are very DIY people and we didn't hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, relying on the support staff from the venue and the DJ to hold the event to schedule. Mick and Peter assured us they were experienced with this kind of support work and that was one of the main reasons we went with them. Our wedding was eclectic in a few ways -- an unusual venue at the LA natural history museum, and a very multicultural audience combining a lot of Caribbean folk with a substantial minority of Americans. Our choice of music was also eclectic, and we were impressed with Mick and Peter's enthusiasm for the prospect of trying out our style. Not merely professional, they also seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing. At the wedding they were adaptive in finding the right piece to get people dancing and they succeeded in building a lot of energy under difficult circumstances -- due to a sudden switch to backup power the entire reception had to be relocated across the museum at the last minute and the dancing space shrank considerably. They also showed a good musical sense of humor by playing MIA's "Bad Girls" for the bouquet toss (we agreed on some MIA song but never said which one). Over all, Better Music really lived up to its name. They are great people and great DJs. read more

Mick was the dj at my wedding last July. He was great. Whenever i wanted to contact him he was available, or would get back to me within hours. He answered any questions I asked and even helped out the day of the wedding to make sure things ran smoothly and on time. He played a variety of music that everyone enjoyed and made it a fun night. read more

Mick at Better Music Services is amazing! When I emailed them to inquire about rates, he was the only one of several DJs that I contacted who actually called up my venue to see what my wedding was going to be like and how he could best entertain at it. Also, Better Music Services was the only DJ service I found that gave me both a DJ and an emcee, and the best emcee at that! His prices are very reasonable for the high quality services that he and his team provide. Uplighting is included which provided a beautiful atmosphere for the wedding. I gave Mick very little input on what we needed music-wise, just a list of the important songs to play along with some of the artists that we like to give him an idea of our musical taste. He took it from there, and everybody loved everything! His selections fit us and our party perfectly with very little direction. Throughout the wedding reception, he kept checking in with us and making sure that we were ready to do toasts, cut cake, ect. He would tell us what was going to happen next and who would speak in what order. He expertly was able to judge the room and help direct the flow of the evening perfectly. The high level of service was a big part of our amazing wedding reception. I would recommend them to everyone! read more

Mick is the best. He was a patient guy as he sat through lots of speeches at my husband's 80th birthday party October 1st at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club. I know he was itching to play the music. He is ever the ready with special requests plus he seems to know just what the guests wanted to hear. I agree with all the other accolades heaped upon him. It was a great evening and Mick was a big part of it's success. read more

Mick was awesome. He DJed our wedding reception last weekend at Solidarity in Santa Monica, and we had the best time! We'd really hoped to get people dancing and keep them there, and he delivered great song after great song. My wife and I had so much fun dancing, we didn't even get a chance to break and get water. We had an awesome night and Mick and Better Music Services were a huge part of what made it special! read more

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon and we can't stop reminiscing about our wonderful wedding. It was absolutely perfect, and we just had a blast dancing the night away with our family and friends. Mick really was incredible! He was so effective on the microphone directing guests from one activity to another and to the various venue patios, and the energy was great throughout the event. It was important to me to have music that appealed to all ages and tastes, and I wanted to get everyone on the dance floor, and he did it! My 80 year old grandmother, who never dances, was twirling around all night! We were all "getting low" and jumping around, it was a blast! My husband and I and our guests truly had the best night, and numerous friends and family friends have commented that the music was fantastic. We're so grateful for all Mick did at our wedding. read more

Mick is the best. Simply amazing I have only two words. ' BOOK HIM!"

For our wedding we recently had Better Music Services serve as our DJ's. They were a pleasure to deal with, as we were running around trying to deal with all of our vendors and our venue. Mick and Peter met us well before our wedding to go over basic ground rules of likes and dislikes. This was incredibly helpful for both of us as we were able to plan for our speed of wedding. In the months leading up to the wedding we slowly built a running spreadsheet of music that match the styles/cultures of myself (Persian) and my Husband (American/Hispanic). We also laid out for them the music for our ceremony. The whole experience working with Mick and Peter was great as Mick served as the MC of the event and balanced perfectly the amount and length of announcements as well as following the vibe of our wedding and its guests. The ultimate compliment that I could give Better Music Services is that throughout our wedding they were able to keep everyone on the dance floor and go back and forth between Persian music and more traditional American/Pop music. This led to an unforgettable night that not only we will treasure forever, but all of our guests as well! read more

Mick was our DJ for our wedding on April 25, 2015. All I can say is WOW! We shopped around quite a bit before finding Mick and his team. My husband and I were shocked at what so many DJs charge for their services. Mick's price quote almost seemed too good to be true. We met with them briefly before retaining their services and we were instantly impressed with their personalities, professionalism and humor! Mick did a phenomenal job from start to finish! He and Jay were on time, set up everything we needed for both the ceremony and reception and most importantly, they were fantastic at getting our guests up and out of their seats! I had about maybe 10 "must play" songs and the rest I left up to Mick. He did such a fantastic job at reading the crowd and picking songs we all would enjoy, and he made sure to weave some humorous remarks throughout the evening. I would HIGHLY recommend Mick and Better Music Services for all your DJ/Sound needs! You won't regret it! read more
