So this gym is very different to any other I've used. You can buy membership on a monthly basis, but it isn't their preferred way to operate. They would prefer you to take personal training as it's better for motivation, technique and results and that is really what this gym is all about. Results. If you are getting a training session once or twice per week, you can use the gym as much as you want.
If you decide to go down this route, they'll allocate you a trainer who'll take all sorts of worrying measurements, listen to your goals and commence a training programme with you. The trainers all have degrees in something sports, training or nutrition related and seem to genuinely care about helping you reach your goals.
The trainers will start off with rolling out your knotted neck muscles and show you how to roll out knotted muscles in your back and legs before starting off with very simple core exercises. From there you progress to dead lifts, boxing style training and strength training quite unlike you see anywhere lose in the UK.
This is a big gym, but it's full of free weights and weight training machines. There are a few cardio machines, not many but they are there, they also have a studio for classes, but they don't run that many classes and they are £10 per class. This isn't really a cardio-vanity gym and they don't have a pool or a sauna or a steam room, it's a getting you stronger and fitter gym.
There are a surprising number of people here that are not your typical gym crowd. They have a very broad mix of members, some in their twenties and thirties, some in their fifties and sixties. Their are a lot of fit people here and a lot of fat people here getting thinner and fitter by the minute. It's quite inspiring to see people here that have been coming here a while doing what they can do with the training they get. Think people in that look too young or too old lifting barbells with big weights above their heads.
The people who come here and work here are all friendly and helpful, including the owners, who are also trainers.
This isn't a cheap place, training is £46 per hour although they do an 11 sessions for the price of 10 deal. You can also train with a friend if you have one in a similar physical condition which works out very reasonably. Alternatively there is their monthly membership which is £61.
I like this place a lot and I'm working on having my before and after picture on their wall. It's not only the best gym in Sevenoaks it's one of the best gyms I've ever been to. read more
