I will start by saying I have no idea whether the quality of their product is good or bad. I've tried to get a quote for a 2 car garage for a couple months now. Josh came out, took measurements and poof the disappearing act begins. I've tried calling, emailing and nothing. I'm hoping they are extremely busy since this type of communication would at best be considered rude not to follow up with a potential customer. So, just had a Josh from Better Bilt come to give me a quote on a two car garage. Everything was going well until he starts talking about something I didn't understand, and I tell him so. After three times of not clarifying the issue, I got frustrated and said "I don't f***ing get it!" Well, little Josh's eyes welled up, and he said that he's not used to being cussed at. He said I needed to find someone else to build my garage, and left. I have worked in a lot of industries, (including construction), and have heard plenty of cussing. But, I would never expect someone to walk away from a $25-$30k job because a potential customer said F**K. read more

After reading some great reviews I was a little disappointed with their initial responsiveness, but patient since they were obviously busy. When I finally got Josh out to the house for a site visit, he immediately pointed to a creek along the back of my property and declared he could not build where I wanted, rattling off some stuff about city or county buffer zones. When I pointed out an alternate spot he told me the grading would cost as much as the building (I appreciate this insight but how about let me decide how much I'm willing to spend on a building). He left within 5 minutes of getting there saying he would check with the county but I had no confidence he had any intention to do so. I did my own research on the creek along the back of my property, finding out I could build where I originally wanted, and the city engineer was happy to come out and confirm that I could (Josh must still be working on it because I never heard back). I suspect he just didn't want the job for some reason (maybe not as lucrative as other jobs he could take) and was determined to find a reason not to take it. Hurray for any business that is doing so well they can turn down work but how about a little honesty. This seems to be a trend I have experienced with contractors over the last few years, and since I respect their right to choose the work they want to do, the only thing I can do is leave honest reviews for the next guy to consider. read more

I was treated like family. Owner and his wife were very thorough and professional from start to finish. I'm the type of person who always remembers a question I want to ask after I hang up the phone with the person who can give me an answer. Every time I remembered to ask the owner a question about something specific, I knew that all I had to do was pick up the phone and he would take the time to give me the answers I was looking for.
