I was referred by a family member who has been coming for years and they were so right! From the beginning and even now the treatment of respect and understanding from staff to the congregation is all there. The events they put on to help bring you closer to your faith and to communicate with other people is a bonus rather than just a normal Sunday service(s). I have been service with them shortly after and can say even behind the scene's they take the challenges head on to make sure that all are welcome no matter what and that the children even have a great experience so that way the adults can encounter God. I love to call this church our church family. Its not a church you attend but a family where you belong.

The teachers are extremely focused on "bringing your friends from school" and that is about it! My boys attended for one year (5th and 7th grade) and didn't make a single friend. The women's ministry is lacking--they meet once a month if you have a toddler. The life groups fill up quickly and I wasn't allowed to join because it was "too late, too full." It's probably just too big.

We were welcomed by the people we sat with as though they already knew us and soon learned that this congregation lives the Gospel! St. Andrew's community outreach and social justice work is without equal in North County. We joined the weekly food pantry volunteers and it's a highlight of our week. It's a small miracle that we can source, pick up, set up and give out over a ton of food to 250+ families every week. We learned that many volunteers are 'outside' the congregation--it's a broader community effort to serve our guests each week. Also, we're a bit surprised that we WANT to be at Sunday services nearly every week. We get a spiritual shot in the arm to help us 'go forth' and find some joy and goodness in the world and do good. Our biggest takeaway from our first year is that the parish staff and lay members authentically embrace, respect and care for each other. That church culture enables us to do the same for our neighbors.

This is just disgusting and outrageous you go to complain about unruly people only to have staff treat you very poorly shame on this church and why don't you have more staff to monitor what's going on and have a talk with Dan and tell him you don't come at people aggressively and in a threatening way I don't care if you don't like what you're hearing if people weren't acting up I wouldn't have had to complain two thumbs down for this so called church!!!!

Father Jim is a priest's priest w/ a terrific sense of humor who gladly shares the TRUTH of our faith. I especially like having the opportunity to kneel for Holy Communion & the generous amount of time given to the Exposition of the Sacred Body of Christ during Eucharistic Adoration. The Altar Society is active & reverent & there are a surprising number of reverent younger men in the Knights of Columbus. Weekly talks are given in the hall by visiting scholars & the community enjoys wonderful opportunities to "break bread" with one another at social events & the delicious Lenten Fish Fry. (ALSO love those dedicated cooks at 1st Sunday of the Month Taco & Enchilada sales - shout out to Maria!!) I have recently moved to a very nice parish in Fort Worth, but do miss the MOST IMPACTFUL parish I have ever belonged to, St John the Evangelist. Kudos to Father Jim & the ladies in the office / looking at you, Jeanette! Thank you for being such a spiritually nurturing parish. Alexandra Cloney
