While in Didsbury for the weekend me and a friend decided to visit the local casino for a spot of…read morepoker. After checking online for the start times and prices, we arrived to register. I was a member of the Bolton Grosvenor Casino some years before and managed to find my old membership card, however it had been so long since i had used it that my membership had lapsed... re registering is simple enough, fill ot a form and show photo ID and you are allowed in. The poker room is to the back of the casino playing area, there are poker comps going on every night of the week here, all starting at 8pm. Be warned though, it can go on till the wee small hours, so if you have work the next day it may be wise to choose carefully! All buy in prices vary, so check before hand to confirm! The main playing area is nicely set out, with Roulette tables, Blackjack and cash poker. The slots and electronic Roulette machines are on the upper level. There are waiters walking around to serve drinks if you so wish and all soft drinks are free while you are on the playing area, just help yourself. The drinks at the bar are very well priced, 5.95 for a double Gin and Tonic and same for a double Kraken and Cola! I suppose the more drunk you are, the more likely to lose your hard earned cash you are though... On a Saturday there is also some form of musical act on the stage that's in the casino. This time it happened to be Latina Diva, she was very good! Singing all the summer latino tunes and getting the audience involved as much as possible, up to the point that i was dragged up to dance with her on stage...damn those double Krakens! There is also a restaurant on site, the prices here looked very reasonable also, with a good selection to choose from! Overall, even with losing at poker and blackjack, i had a great night at Grosvenor Casino Parrswood and will likely be returning again in the near future!

The selection of table games and slots isn't massive but they do have enough to cover all of your gambling needs... Blackjack (3 different versions) , roulette, poker room, slots etc. Prices are reasonable in the restaurant and the bar. A plus is soft drinks are free of charge. I will be returning to try out the restaurant in the near future.

We stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday We experienced the friendliest of service from start to finish. Really cozy and warmly decorated common rooms for reading, happy hour, socializing, etc. Great breakfast! Even better room service. We enjoyed their room service food so much that we had them pack us a 'to go' for the train back to London. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Simple and very clean. The town of Didsbury is only a short walk away and has everything you need for a lovely spring weekend. We will def. be back the next time we head to the Theatre of Dreams. :)

Lovely staff and while I personally haven't had the breakfast, I've been told that it's yummy. Gorgeous building (great for photo shoots), stunning stairway and lovely lounge to chill out in. Great location just across from Fletcher Moss, on a good bus route and ample parking. Has two sister hotels too.

It is pretty easy to get to, even though it isn't central to anything really with a tram stop "East Didsbury" across the way and a Tesco close by. Unlike most similar centres, I was surprised there weren't many big-name quick-fast food restaurants including the likes of Subway, McDonald's and KFC which would have been handy, but the construction of this place isn't that great anyway as it is quite a good walk from the car park to the complex where the cinema and eateries are. Parrs Wood is summed up by "Meh, I've experienced better", it isn't new anymore as it was built as I recall in around 2011/2012 and is now so generic, lacking innovation and anything which makes this stand out from the crowd. 2*

Every late Oct/early Nov it's Didsbury Beer Fest time - a place where magic really does happen…read more(well, lots of guys with beards pull rather good value beers from some top breweries from all over the UK) on a Thurs/Fri/Sat (possibly Sunday too, I can't remember...) If the truth be told this is probably my favourite beer fest in Manchester as it's so chilled out, only a few quid in and has an ultra relaxed vibe that can't be beaten. You always bump into friends you haven't seen for a while and it always gets the troops out in fill force. In fact there was about 15 of us (plus our little daughter) that went this year. Get there early to avoid missing out on your fave beers - and they also have a decent selection of food which although probably isn't the most 'gourmet-tastic' definitely does the job in soaking up the beer. A chip bap for a couple of quid sorted me out big style on this occasion!

Not to mention all at a reasonable price, Most, if not all, drinks were under £4 for a pint, half that for half a pint, and a smaller price for 1/3. This gives visitors the perfect opportunity to sample many products the festival has to offer from breweries throughout the UK. I am personally prone to a good stout or wheat beer. The tent was superbly constructed and decorated, and created a great ambiance for the festivities. Other organisers should take note. My favourites samplings were the stout from Dunham Massey and the Dunkel Weizen from Geipel, which is a Didsbury brewer. Attending late on e Saturday afternoon, the atmosphere was extremely relaxed, and definitely family friendly; towards the evening, the festival got a lot busier, but not overwhelmingly so. This was my first visit, but i look forward to attending the tenth anniversary next year.

Or rather, fraternal twins. Yes, this is a bar of two halves, two very different halves, and they could well be two separate establishments to the naked eye. Last night when a group of us came for a drink here, we realised that these halves seem to split opinion... the locals prefer one, the students the other. One half is a little colder and more austere, with on-screen sports and ramshackle tables. Oh! I just felt like Phoebe from Friends with her Central Park/Central Perk revelation. This is where the older crowd tends to gather with pints. The other half is warmer and home to some thumping beats and lends itself well to student nights out. In the middle of all of this is a bar, with some cheap house ales and spirits, but overall what you'd find at most bars - big brand drinks. No imported unusual bits and bobs, but hey, if it sells Crabbie's it's fine by me. This place has something of a spooky effect upon its clientele. What starts as a social drink can turn into a spontaneous belly-laugh of a tipsy night out (no wonder it's so popular with students!)... we're not sure how this happens, but the round of Jagermeisters spoke for itself. Hey, medicinal purposes you understand. Down the road from Indigo, Solomon's and Fuel and within staggering distance of my new apartment, I can easily see a few more visits happening.

The Manchester weather was on our side for this event, so we found ourselves a hay bale and took in our surroundings. A large big top housed the stage for the evening's music, there was both a beer and a cider/wine/spirit bar, then two street food traders. Drinks were bought on a token system - £10 for a sheet - instead of having cash, then marked off at the bar. We got through plenty of beer and cider, plus a couple of glasses of a very refreshing vino verde. It's at this point I admit the main reason we bought Friday tickets was to eat at Parm Star - and what an excellent decision. We ate pretty much as soon as we arrived meaning we were actually their first ever paying customers, a real honour! The parmo and parma were both amazing, huge servings with plenty of cheese and moist schnitzel. The mac & cheese was also delicious, especially with a sprinkle of blue cheese and dollop of hot sauce. When the temperature dropped we headed inside the big top, where an amazing brass band played us into the evening with lots of dancing and a little bit of singing from the audience... The rest of the weekend looked equally excellent, with cake decorating for the little ones and lots of homemade fairground activities. Here's hoping this becomes an annual event!

Held over the Bank Holiday weekend, thankfully the rain stayed away and so festival goers could enjoy sitting outside, on straw bales, at picnic tables, on blankets or the grass and listen to a great range of quirky entertainment being played live from a circus tent. On the Sunday there was a 'multi media' quiz held by Quizimodo from Odd Bar which was terrific. As well as a well-stocked bar with a rotation of beers, there was also a side bar selling various ciders, wines from Reserve in West Didsbury and a range of gins and soft drinks - so you didn't need to be a beer lover to enjoy yourself here. Food was provided by a variety of street food traders - some already well-established in Manchester and others who hadn't traded here before. A personal highlight was being able to try another of Honest Crust's fantastic wood-fired pizzas. The event was completely family-friendly, with plenty of folks bringing their little ones and furry companions along for the day. Face painting and carnival games such as tin can alley helped to keep them occupied. It was a superb end to the summer season and I can't wait for them to repeat this next year!

That was the most important, and if the minibus did not come with a restroom I should have been told and then we could have worked something out with upgrading to another bus. Second of all I receive an email from Rik stating that he is going to bring a tour guide with him on Sunday. I assumed this was actually a tour guide not his girlfriend which does not even work for Belle Vue. My executives were excited at first and then all she did was print off wikipedia sheets on the sights and told my executives to read about them. She fell asleep on the coach never got off the coach and on the return home is when one of my executives figured out it was his girlfriend/ wife. They were talking about going to Australia together and he had a picture of her and their kids on his phone. We did not pay for a coach to have a driver take his girlfriend to London for the day. Also, I paid 75 extra pounds as Rik stated we needed an extra driver. There was no extra driver on this trip only his girlfriend. Rik drove from Manchester to London and back by himself. I also went over the agenda with Rik before Sunday, and told him all sights can be visited if done by my agenda. Rik had the audacity to speak to my executives and tell them they cannot complete all of this that day. It was not his place to do that, and then mention they should leave London early to miss the traffic and for them to cancel their dinner reservations that I had arranged at a very nice restaurant close to the Tower Bridge. If they would have gone to dinner they would have missed the traffic from the game. I am very disappointed with everything I have heard from all of my Executives and this makes me look bad, as I chose your company based on your reviews. This was a lot of their first time visiting our facility in Stoke on Trent and visiting London. Rik even asked for a tip and even though my executives did not want to tip him, because of how horrible everything was. Tom which was in the front felt obligated for being put on the spot and gave him 20 pounds. We are requesting half of the 1045.50 pounds that we paid for this service to be refunded to us. This was the worst experience my executives have ever had and that is putting my name on the line. We do this every year at different locations, and I have never had a failed event until now. very disappointed in what Rik had done and how it reflected on me as I am the one that chose the Coach service. This is my formal complaint to them. All I heard after this was excuses and reason why they dropped the ball and then refused to give us our money back.
