A very noisy hotel. I was given a second floor room. There are no elevators so I asked to be moved to the first floor. I requested room 129 since I need quiet room for work. The front desk girl agreed to it but the manager moved me to room 119 right across the room where the staff does laundry. The old man working there yells at the top of his voice at other staff all day. I asked him to keep it down and his response is that he's deaf so he has to talk loud. I complained to the front desk and she asked him to stop the noise but he didn't care. All day staff hang outside my room door talking to the point that I could not use voice dictation. There is a stadium behind the hotel where fans are screaming till late in the night. The bedside power outlets don't work. The bedside lights are so dim, it's impossible to read. The AC doesn't cool the room. The TV remote has dead batteries. The coffee station in the lobby always has 3 jugs of coffee and tea bags but no hot water for tea. The hot water at the breakfast coffee station is always cold. When I requested hot water, server went in the back and never came out. I went to work without having morning tea. This is how they treat a diamond elite member. I don't know what they do to others. I will not be back here ever. read more

We booked this room in advance for a local wedding. We called to get early checkin because the wedding started at 2:00. We were charged a $25 fee to check in early, but told that it would not be a problem because there was no one staying in our room the night before. (Then why is it not clean?) Check in was great despite the crappy sign in the lobby claiming that they were going to do nothing past the minimum, and you should not complain... We get up to the room and the toilet is filthy and the floor is disgusting, Next day, we didn't stick around for breakfast because if the kitchen is kept the same way the rooms are. Then breakfast will be nasty. Looking back at reviews... 8 years later the ice machine still doesn't work and the place is never cleaned past the sheets on the bed Bed was good and seemed to be the only clean thing in the place. Never saw one employee the entire time we were there other than check in. If you can stay in Gresham that would be better. Place is a pit!!! read more

This Best Western was well located right along the main strip going through the town of Sandy. We hit a lot of traffic coming into the small town. Taylor checked us in, he was very friendly and informative. There was plenty of parking, we walked past the indoor pool, laundry and small fitness room. There was coffee in the lobby and travel information. We filled out a slip for breakfast pick up in the morning. It's funny, when we got to the hotel at 2:30 in the afternoon there were men in their 20's & 30's hanging out in the parking lot. Some single men were next to cars, others were sitting in chairs near the front shrubs. When we left for dinner, they were still there, and when we came back to the hotel at 9:15 about a dozen men were still around the outside of the hotel. We didn't feel unsafe, But this isn't what we used to seeing ,and we've been to over a dozen hotels this year. There was a funny smell walking down the hallway to our room, but our room was fine. I was glad to see no carpeting on the floors. Room 121 was clean, bed was comfortable & it worked since we stayed for one night. It appears to be an accessible room for the handicapped. My husband hated the fact that the sink was facing our bed. The room wasn't that small but we seem to be tripping over each other, maybe it was because it is it an accessible room. Our Keurig coffee maker didn't work properly, the coffee came out the sides & on the sink counter rather than in the cup. at 8 o'clock we picked up our breakfast to go bag, It was sort of the free breakfast children get before school. We wanted to cancel our reservation and go straight through to Portland. Unfortunately, with this hotel's policy, had we canceled we would've lost $180. I'll start by saying that I received great service from the attendants during my stay. The rating reflects the dirtiness of the room. There was dust and debris on the floors and a ton in the corners. It looked as if a soda had exploded on a wall and never been wiped up. There were items from previous guest in the shower. I am pretty easy going but had it not been so late and had I not had to carry all my stuff up the stairs I would have asked for another room. I am sorry to hear of the events that took place and understand how difficult this time would be. We received a response from the Bobbie the General Manager regarding your concerns on Customer Relations ticket CR618526, he explained due to the reservation being prepaid, unfortunately they would not be able to issue a refund. I am sorry this is not the expected outcome and understand why this would be upsetting. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to override the hotel's decision. If you are booking for business trips, be warned. I set up a trip for our crew member and when she arrived to check in, she was told that the credit card authorization form was not on file. Because of past fraud on the business card, we are extremely careful when using it third party. Because we keep track, we were able to give the name of the person who confirmed they received the completed authorization form, and the time and date it was received. Having the name, time and date of when it was received was not enough, we had to get our travel agent involved and then they had to call to get it sorted out. When all was said and done, it was there all along. Keep in mind a credit card authorization form has a copy of the business credit card itself and a copy of the user's drivers license. So much damage can be done with that amount of information. I don't want to keep sending that info to a business that can't keep track of it in the first place. According to Taylor at the front desk, they had it, but they couldn't find it. I was hoping to hear that he knows that info is very confidential and that they will definitely be more mindful with it in the future, but the explanation given was something about a not often used email address. What? Twenty minutes, multiple people and phone calls later, our crew member was finally able to check in. It shouldn't be this hard. read more

Checked in late. The guy at the front desk was super nice. Room was clean. Pretty basic but not bad. Free wifi. TV was ok, not HD quality, but works. Bathroom was clean, but shower had low water pressure. Beds were ok. Not the greatest and not the worst. It was a bit noisy at night from traffic. BRING EARPLUGS. Pool was clean. Nice warm temp. Breakfast room was nice and clean. Plenty of breakfast choices to choose from. Buiscits and gravy, waffles, eggs, fried potatoes, sausages, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, bagels, apples, bananas, apple juice, orange juice, coffee and more. Husband stayed here on the way to a conference and it was fine. On the way home, he decided at the last minute to stay there again instead of driving through the night, and called ahead to reserve a room. Then a fatal accident closed the road ahead, with an estimate that it would take five hours to re-open. He turned around, since there was no way to reach the hotel, and called to cancel as soon as he was back in cell range, about a half-hour later. He was told that he would be charged for the night anyway. We asked Best Western to reconsider, since he was making a good-faith effort to get there with a last-minute reservation and the closed road made it impossible to get there. They declined and charged us $232.42. Definitely never staying there again, and it leaves a bad taste for all Best Westerns. read more

The Best Western Motel in Sandy, Oregon is worst Best Western Motel I have every stayed at. I cannot understand why this motel is part of the Best Western Chain. This is an observation from someone that had to stay 100 days at this motel due to their house caught on fire. There is no person at the front desk during the day or night. They have a phone on the front desk you call if you need something. 1. They have no maid service every day. The owner is to cheap to hire a maid to come in and clean rooms every day. We were force to clean our own room. There were over 25 days out of the 100 we were there that they did not have a maid working. They would rent out rooms that were clean then have a maid come in every third or fourth day to clean all the rooms. The floors are very seldom vacuum in the hallways or staircase. 2. The Ice Machine was broken the whole 100 days we were there. They had two different service guys come in to look at it but never got it fixed. 3. The pool and hot tub were closed for out last 4 weeks staying at the motel due to someone broke a window near the hot tub. The window was still broken, and area closed when we moved out. The owner was to cheap to get the window fixed. 4. There is only one staff member on duty to run the whole motel from 3pm until 7am. This staff member must wash all the linen for the next day and try and cover the front desk. I have never seen this kind of operation at any Best Western Motels I have ever stayed at. 5. I observed the guys working for over a month installing video cameras throughout the motel. The owner is more interested in watching a video of his motel then getting things fixed that the customers would use, ice machine, pool, etc... 6. I had a 7x14 foot cargo trailer that I had parked in one of the spots in the parking lot in the front of the motel that we had stuff in to use for everyday life since we could not stay in our house due to the fire. I was told to move my trailer to the back of the motel by the manager. He said that the owner did not want it in the front of the motel. I parked my trailer in the back of the building. While it was parked there it was broken into twice. Nothing was stolen except for the pad locks on the doors on the trailer. I have attached photos of things I observed throughout my stay. The picture with the trash and laundry were taken at 6pm. The trash and laundry were placed outside our room at 8am after we had to clean our own room. Pictures of the floor were taken after the maid left for the day. My recommendation is finding a different place to stay besides this run down motel that the owner dose not want to fix. read more

Very disappointing. Was in town for a baseball tournament and was supposed to have a group rate as promised by management. The room looked pleasant enough at first then noticed floor was filthy (socks and feet were dirt brown from walking on it, the only unused plug that worked was the one by the sink, there was quite the layer of dust and trash under the couch, hallway carpet was in dire neednof a vacuuming and the whole building looked like it needed a good scrubbing. The front desk gentleman was very helpful and even managed to get us checked in early. I was shocked at the price for the room along with all the city, state, AND county taxes. The evening desk clerk disappeared and was difficult to track down for questions. The breakfast the following morning was disappointing at best as the kitchen person did not keep up with the food demands of a full house (was told no vacancies) and as a paying customer I did not get a full continental breakfast as advertised. Also, the homeless man with his "service dog" in the breakfast area was disturbing as the "service dog was allowed to stick his nose in the food and lick the utensils dropped on the floor. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I feel ripped off. read more

Great place for a quick overnight stop. Room was very clean. Five-star rating for the front desk attendant, Destiny, who was amazing. She was attentive and helpful, and extremely hard-working. Got here via Uber, no one at the front desk. Called for 20 minutes while 3 other customers also showed up. Finally called their booking hotline to find out why no one was answering (now we are at 25 minutes. Shortly thereafter a girl named Erin comes from around the corner after one of the guests goes to bang on a door-wakes up the guy who is supposed to be coming on at 11pm. She is followed by a kid who doesn't work there. She goes behind the desk, and he goes outside to smoke a cigarette. I asked her if she knew she had left the front desk unsecured (the office door was opened by one of the other customers) and asked her why there was no sign that she was going to be gone for so long. She snapped back at me that she "had other jobs she had to do". Then she proceeded to give the people that came in behind me two room upgrades and the wifi password. She gave me a room by the ice machine and by the main hallway. No upgrade and no wifi password and no apologies at all. She was SO rude. When I got in my room, there are two hairs in the sink, and one on one of the pillows. (Eww!) Im so disappointed I cannot even imagine ever staying here again. We have a client that we work with close to here, but I can promise you, I will. NEVER EVER stay in such a dirty and rude establishment as this. The LEAST she could have done was apologize but she didn't even do THAT. All a business traveler ever wants is a clean place with kind people taking care of them so that they can do their job efficiently. This hotel DID NOT provide even the basic common courtesy of a genuine apology for making people wait for 30 minutes after a long day in an airport. No consideration for customer service and...no wifi password. I have pictures of the phone showing the length of time I was calling for help. Plus the time I was on the phone with customer reservations trying to figure out where Erin was. Even the reservation line couldn't reach anyone when THEY tried to call. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights a week for 5 months.... super nice staff. Very friendly and accommodating. There was some noise, mostly due to other guests. Rooms are comfortable. Besides the great staff, the location is convenient- Safeway right next door as well as several restaurants in the area. I would recommend this hotel. A previous review indicated several men outside for some time. Due to the devastating fires in the region, several workers who were cutting down fire damaged trees were also staying in the hotel. Friendly folks. Most of that work should be winding down now. read more

We chose this hotel due to it's location, near places we were working. I would not recommend this hotel. When we first arrived, we were told the hot water was out, but would be fixed in a couple of hours. It was ok with us as it was 3:00 in the afternoon. We went to our room and it seemed clean and well stocked. The next day as we were leaving, there was a man in a wheelchair with a dog on a rope at the door, we held it open and he started complaining about being kicked out of the hotel and just having had part of his foot cut off... we said we were sorry and as he became more angry, we left. That night upon our return, we noticed several cars in the parking lot with windows covered by material and they looked like they were in bad shape. While we were sleeping, at 12:30 am there was loud talking and slamming of the door across the hall from us. This continued until about 2:30 am. Then at 4:30 am there was a loud knocking at that same door and I heard a man say, "Is that your car out in the lot, the stolen one?" The "guest" spoke softly and the loud man said, "I can see that the ignition is punched, did you steal it"? At this point, I assumed it was the police and I went back to bed . The next morning we got up and my husband said there was NO hot water in the shower! I called the front desk and all the lady said was, "yeah, you're my third call about it, I don't know what's going on". So, my husband went down to find out just what was going on and was told by the front desk lady that she didn't know anything about what happened at the room across the hall or when the hot water would be fixed. Needless to say, we left. I have written to Best Western Corporate office and to the Sandy OR hotel, neither have responded. read more

I stayed here only one night, and I will never come back. I walked around in my room for a couple hours last night and a short time this morning in bare feet, then got in the shower this morning. I noticed dirt washing off my feet. That's odd, I thought, considering I had showered the previous day and had my feet in socks until I arrived at my hotel room. When I got out of the shower, I wet my towel down and stood on it on the carpet. To my disgust, the towel bore a dirt imprint of my foot. And to top it off, my sink drain is clogged, so I get to shave and brush my teeth in nasty water. I write this as I sit at the desk in the room, so disgusted, I can't wait to get out of here. One of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. Checked in past 2:30am and the hotel staff was not accommodating in assisting with taking the luggage up a flight of stairs and wouldn't give late check out. In the room and cannot close the curtains as they do not close at all, so I am stuck with an open window that is being blocked by a white sheet, the toilet doesn't flush unless you put a hulk amount of strength into it. Finally in bed and sleeping at 4:15 only to be woken up at 6am by slamming doors, the cleaning staff screaming into walkie talkies, loud music, all around inconsiderate. Call down to management and she said there is nothing she can do, then went down and was told that there is nothing she can do and the manager walked away repeatedly. Definitely a terrible experience, don't stay here. Push yourself and drive a few more miles to find something better because you won't find rest, or nice staff here. read more

I can't tell you how great this hotel is, but I'll try. First of all, we arrived in Portland with our 26 foot Uhaul, 2 cars and four dogs after a 20 hour drive from LA. We had a home away booked, but when we arrived there, we were misled by the owner on the fact the our Uhaul was not even close to fitting down the narrow trail road to the cabin. We were forced to cancel, and were now stuck without a place to sleep (dogs included) with our giant uhaul. All of this on basically no sleep in two days. After calling 6 hotels in the Portland area that were pet friendly, they were all completely booked. I found this Best Western in Sandy doing a search, and called them up. They were more than happy to let us book a two bed room, including all four of our dogs for a very reasonable 20 dollar fee. When we arrived, the front desk employee was very friendly and accommodating. They even had 4 goody bags for our dogs with treats and dog food. Another huge help was they even called the Safeway next door and worked it out so we could park our 26 foot Uhaul in their lot for the 3 days we stayed there, no charge! They had free hot breakfast each morning, fresh baked cookies in the lobby, and the rooms were nice and clean. They really saved our asses, and helped us out when we really needed it. After our second night there, we found our current home and have moved in since. I just want to say thank you again for the amazing service, and hope that others who might be in a similar situation read this and know they have a place to go that will treat you right! read more

I've stayed at a lot of hotels and Taylor, who worked the front desk the night I checked in is the single best concierge I've ever had. He was so nice and helpful. I wish every hotel could have one of him. The other ladies(late evening, morning) were very sweet as well. Now as to the hotel- 24 hour pool. it is nice and clean great water pressure in the shower water stayed hot. In a good neighborhood. Free breakfast. Cons- pool was really cold. Which a pool is the main reason I booked this hotel breakfast was not very tasty. Beds were horribly uncomfortable for as expensive as the room was. Just stayed at a best western for $100 an the beds were amazing! Overall good hotel. Wish they could take the amazing employees to a better hotel :) read more

People were nice, free cookies nicer, 24 hour pool and hot tub were a bonus, and the rooms were clean and recently updated. So recently we were missing an outlet cover in our room and the doors had paper room numbers. I thought it would be hilarious to switch the room numbers for when our drunk wedding friends returned but I resisted. Breakfast was better than I expected with shockingly fresh food, especially fruit, for a free hotel breakfast bar. Oregon cheddar on the eggs won my heart. Ketchup bottle was too old and sticky to be refilled, which was my only complaint. read more

Great location for two adults and two teens for skiing at Timberline. Got to relax in the hot tub after a day out. However, the hot tubs jets didn't work on day two. The front desk said they just needed to flip a switch but that didn't happen. The icing on the cake though: housekeeping came in and took our dirty towels. That's it, nothing else, didn't replace with clean towels, make the beds OR CLOSE THE DOOR. For hours our room was open to all. Front desk lady didn't even apologize, just blamed housekeeping. read more

Was in Boring , Oregon to judge a horseshow at Mt. Hood Equestrian Center. Stayed at this Inn, Oct 22,23,24. Check in was easy, they were aware of our names and purpose. Very polite and helpful. Room was clean, enough towels, absolutely NO SMOKING(yeah), pets allowed, enough soap, shampoo and coffee for morning. Breakfast is complimentary, usual, stuff, juice, yoghurt, milk, coffee, breakfast sausage/egg-ham/egg, microwave sandwiches, etc., etc--- On return the room was made up, again no problem---TV is old style CRT(better LCD), maybe next time. I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on Friday, April 27, 2015. checked in at 10pm, went straight to bed, woke up at 6:30am, showered, dressed and attempted to eat the horrible breakfast the supplied. Then left by 7am. Later that day I was called and accused of breaking the office chair in the room and they charged my credit card $150. I did not sit in chair or even notice chair in room. I had multiple conversations with the General Manager Bobbie Wilburn who concluded that the housekeeper did not miss the broken chair before I checked in and that it was me. I make a very good living and I can afford to pay for the broken chair (if I broke it). What's not fair is that they not take my word for it and I'm paying for something I know I did not do. It almost feels like going to jail for a crime you did not do. No one would ever want that to happen to them. So I'm fighting it. Unfortunately, they will not email me pictures of the broken chair and nor will they respond to my emails about me seeing the chair when I drive thru on my next trip. I don't recommend staying in this hotel because of a few things. 1. the challenge I've had mentioned above, 2. The rooms are noisy and I could hear the toilets flush and the doors close from rooms above and around, 3. The breakfast was one of the worse I've attempted to eat. 4. This is the most pleasant of the Best Western chain of hotels I can remember staying in. I recommend it to anyone. I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the free breakfast buffet and cheery service each day. My room with a king sized bed was well furnished and updated: two night stands w/ lamps, a love seat sofa (with coffee table, floor lamp, and side table), a smaller desk with a modern office-style roller chair, 3 dresser drawer with LCD TV, a small freezer/fridge and microwave, sink with spacious counter, and two small trash cans. I did not feel crowded, either. The bathroom was relatively bright and nice - toilet, bathtub/shower, curtain, and fixtures were newer and clean, and the fan worked. Lots of lamps in the living space, lots of pillows on the bed, good lathering soap and shampoo. Bonus: lots of outlets for battery chargers! Good climate control, thermostat was simple and effective. The room was clean in important places, like the sheets, sink, bathroom, and fridge, although I would have cleaned the smudge on the big mirror outside the bathroom door. The pool looked surprisingly clean, although I didn't try it out. Although average looking from the outside, it's very inviting and polished inside. Parking was fine for my old 6 passenger 4x4 longbed truck, I wasn't in anyone's way. Finding the place is easy; turn at the stop light at the McDonald's restaurant and drive past McDonald's and KFC to the back of the parking lot. The two drawbacks I didn't like: 1. the closet was small, maybe 4 x 2 ft?, and 2. the wifi was very slow. Suggestions for the Manager, I know you are reading this. ;) * the desktop PC in the lobby is old school - fix that wifi. Give a high-speed (wireless "n" protocol) option because TV is becoming old school, too - many people stream video now. * Don't "suggest" that I tip the maid with those envelopes. Absolutely, the worst decision we could of ever made! The staff is rude, the general manager Bobby, has no people skills, and rather then trying to fix a customer complaint she argues back! The room doors are loud and heavy so if you don't mind being woken up at 6:00 am at the slamming of doors in the hall and the maids speaking loud, and not being considerate to the guest as they get there days started very early! The curtains do not black out, the toilets are a challenge to flush and the tub backs up with water as you try to take a shower from clogged drains, no elevators so you have to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs...And if you try to complain you'll get a bad ass attitude from a very rude manager, so if the manager is rude, naturally it will trickle down to the staff! There are plenty of places around do yourself a favor and drive a little further! read more

Be careful staying at this hotel. Booked 2 rooms for 2 different stays in August back in May. First of all hotel is under renovation and we were not informed of this. Also no elevator which is inconvenient to say the least with luggage for 4 people. The first stay was ok. But not worth the 180.00/ room per night stay. Only reason we stayed is my aunt lives in Sandy and doesn't drive much so we wanted to be close. The kitchen lady was really rude the 2nd day. But the real reason I'm giving a bad review is because the 2nd time I went to check in I was told they gave my king room to someone else and I had a queen( which the bed looked more like a full) when asked why this was changed she said her manager did it. I told her to call him and see how he was going to make it right. She was told they'd give me a discount but he wouldn't know how much til morning. Tried to contact customer care and got the run around. Will not stay here again! Which is sad as it is really close to my aunt. read more

Amazing service! All staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their recommendations helped my family make the most out of our visit. Sandy has that peaceful small town feel but we didn't have to go far to see the sights of Portland or play in the snow on Mount Hood. The hotel itself is conveniently near fun activities and great restaurants, many within walking distance. Very comfortable and quiet rooms with plenty of amenities to keep everyone entertained including fast WI-FI and a 24-hour pool and hot tub. We loved the fresh-baked cookies at night and the free DVD rentals was a unique touch. We felt at home here and didn't want to leave once we saw the breakfast buffet in the morning. Hot, fresh food and so many choices. I ate something different each day! We will make it a point to stay at the Sandy Inn anytime we come back to the area. read more
