Stayed for a couple of days and the room itself was well put together. The rooms have thin walls and the tv starts to dim itself when lights are off which was annoying. Their breakfast is actually really good! I loved the yogurt options and the toppings for it! Only downside is I found a roach in the bathtub. read more

We ended up accidentally booking a Sunday night here but it was a great accident. The kids had a wonderful time in the Atrium pool although the main pool seemed a bit over chlorinated. We loved the hot tub. We really enjoyed the fun breakfast with regular & strawberry Texas shaped waffles. The location is good and they're near a Walmart and some great restaurants and a Starbucks. I recommend the local family pizza shop Mattengas. Plenty of parking; close to the snake farm. read more

The first room (101) had a roach in the bathroom and toilet did not flush. We were given a room on the second floor (201). Again there was a roach in the bathroom that I stepped on and left on the toilet tank for the maid. We reported it to the front desk and were told that they had a pest control service. When providing a review the manager told us they have no roaches. He must be blind. No apology either. He just denied it. Other than that incident the room was ok and breakfast was really good. The lady at the breakfast room was outstanding. the front desk very friendly. But denying the bugs when I took a picture of it does not show a good customer service from management. Spectacular stay here! It is in a great location. Walking distance to a few restaurants and across the street from both a Wal-Mart and and an HEB. They also have their own little store which is very nice. The hotel itself was very very clean and there seemed to be constant upkeep on all the public areas. The 24 hour water, tea and coffee station was gorgeous as was the lobby and sitting area on the second level. The atrium was the best part though. You could swim and still feel like you were outside without having to worry about any inclement weather. Pool towels were provided and although there wasn't a ton of seating it was plenty for us as it wasn't too busy when we were there. The breakfast had Texas shaped waffles which were delicious. It also had eggs, meat, and various breads, cereals, and pastries available. Oh and this amazing yogurt machine which you could use to build your own parfaits which I did every morning of my stay. The room itself was large and well stocked. Very nice TV, microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine all in great condition. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and competent. We are late risers so we typically call the front desk to let them know when we are finally leaving for a few hours to allow housekeeping in to clean. Both days I had a request (one that we needed another roll of TP, one more body wash) and both times we came back to a clean room and requests fulfilled. When I realized I left something behind they were happy to mail it back to me! Would absolutely stay here again! 5+!!!! read more

I love staying here when I'm in town! I've been staying here for years whenever I'm in town. The hotel manager recognizes me from when I used to stay here on weekends years ago and always greets me and my family when he sees us. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The Atrium, where the pool and hot tub are, is very nice and relaxing. Plus, the Atrium is indoors. In the morning, they serve a full hot breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Keep in mind that the breakfast menu may change from day to day. During my recent stay, they did offer biscuits with sausage gravy. I look forward to staying here every time I'm in town. read more

Very attractive indoor decor and layout. Great continental breakfast: scrambled eggs, Texas-shaped waffles, bacon/sausage, yogurt, bagels, milk, orange and apple juice, cereal, danishes, bananas, apples, and oranges, etc. Rooms are decent and clean, but smell a bit like a sauna after running the heat/AC unit. Small balconies for getting some fresh air. Pool and hot tub are indoors. Pool was a bit chilly. It didn't help that they had big fans blowing on the pool. Usually an ok place. Stayed there three times in the past two months. I like the Muzak, Keurig in room, coffeemaker in lobby, and the atrium. This last trip was kind of a mess. Guy in the next room had the tv blasted until around 2am. Why do they always park people right next to the other? I should have called front desk, but whatever... I fell asleep playing my Switch to be awoken by some guy vacuuming at my door at 8am. Awesome wake up call. Anyway, checked out and drove five hours. Called that evening to ask about my Switch. Did I mention I left it on the bed? They said housekeeping hadn't brought it to front desk. Tried again next morning and the guy gave no cares - there is no Switch. Seriously. I don't know. My bad for forgetting but really. Front desk staff didn't really care. So many fails. Tons more options to stay along 35. read more

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at this hotel! All the employees we encountered were super nice and hard at work. The property was completely renovated in 2013 and they really paid attention to detail! It felt more like a luxury hotel. The decor is very tasteful and everything was super clean. The inner rooms encircle a lovely atrium area that houses an indoor pool. We found that the atrium shielded our inner room (115) from the direct sun, which made it convenient for sleeping in. Breakfast was hot, substantial and continuously replenished. Our room was spacious and came with all the amenties - microwave, keurig coffee maker, blow dryer, ironing board, armoire, and a good-sized fridge. The bed was pleasantly firm and the pillows were nice and soft (instead of being overly stuffed). The vanity area was a bit small, but adequate, and separate from the shower. The shower was really roomy, had plenty of shelves for your toiletries, had a safety bar, an extra-tall shower head, and a dispenser for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Furthermore, the faucet was easy to use and the water pressure was nice and solid. As an extra bonus, the hotel was conveniently located along the expressway close to plenty of restaurants, Walmart and the Bracken bat cave. Keep up the great work, Best Western Plus Atrium Inn! Clean, cozy, considerate, and not too busy (during the weekday). The room was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, wall mounted tv, and a single-serving Keurig. The balconies have about 1.5-2 feet of moving room, but I can't imagine you would want more with it being so close to the parking lot and neighboring restaurants. Slightly unfortunate that my stay here was during the great ride of the crickets , but they did take care of it and clean them up...after day 3...after they experienced the massive flock of birds that arrived during day 2...but who's counting days?? Overall the stay was Okay, considering the occasional crickets that hopped out of the drains and throughout even the second floor. read more

Fancy Nancy loved it and so did the rowdy children. First of all and perhaps best of all (in my opinion), Staff is over the top friendly. I love that! Every staff person I had contact with was easy to talk to and very accommodating. When I read atrium I thought small smoking area with a few plants. I was completely wrong. In my children's opinion the best part of all was the indoor HEATED Pool, located in the rather large atrium! The hot tub was just that, HOT, and very appreciated in the cold weather we bared all day. I didn't pack bathing suits but the Wal-mart is conveniently around the corner. Breakfast in the morning was small but very appealing and clean. We all loved the Texas size waffles. read more

Update: Woke up with bites all over me and found two bugs in the bed. I attached a picture of one of the bugs. Looks a lot like a bed bug that has just fed. Disgusting. The towels were dirty. They were hanging neatly with brown stuff on them. It was very obvious so I don't know how it was missed. There are non-smoking signs everywhere, but our room and the hallways smelled strongly of cigarettes. It's more of a motel than a hotel. Definitely won't stay here again. read more

Hotel had a good location but we arrived at 1:30 and told me there were no rooms available due to shortage of staff. Was told to come back at 3pm. There was no one there, hotel has few rooms and it looked completely empty. Bathrooms in the entrance needed a room key so it kind of lead me to believe this is not a good side of town. The room was fine but the pool looked dirty. If you are a light sleeper might ask for a room away from the highway cause it's pretty loud if in the front. We stayed here two nights after a horrid, horrid downtown San Antonio motel and we were SO relieved to be in a clean, well operated hotel. The breakfast was quite good--real eggs and meats, lots of choices of cereals and pastries, etc. A coffee machine available 24/7 in the lobby. Pool and hot tub in atrium were lovely and well maintained. Housekeeping was very helpful in getting us new towels, etc. The only glitch was I wanted to pay with cash, and the front desk guy told me that they have to swipe a credit card as deposit, and I could pay with cash when we checked out. Well, no. . . . they charged my credit card immediately and the man at the front desk at that time said he could not reverse the charges and let me pay with cash. (And what if I didn't have a credit card at all? Couldn't they have just taken cash up front to begin with?) So I was unhappy about that. But overall, it's a well-managed place and I will stay there again when I am in the area, which i visit regularly. read more

This hotel is more like a motel. It's just old and needs to be upgraded. Let's start with the air conditioning unit. It made more noise than an airport runway. The mattress and pillows are uncomfortable and the decor needs upgrading. Our room was so rundown. It literally looked like a murder had taken place there. The carpet was old and stinky. It had areas that were uneven and coming off the floor. The bathroom- ick!! I had to clean it again to even sit on the toilet. The towels had a nasty smell to them and not one that was "clean" or pleasant. We won't be staying here again or recommending anyone to stay here. Whoever owns this hotel really needs to spend some money on upgrades. read more

The room was small, but for one night it wasn't bad. I don't think the shower was cleaned well as there was some hair at the bottom. The breakfast was small you have a choice of waffles, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, and oranges. I expected there to at least be cereal and some bananas or apples, and some yogurt. No fresh eggs or sausage or anything like in most breakfast hotels that I have been to. This hotel had many good reviews on several different websites. After realizing our room (213) is sharing a wall with the elevator mechanical room & directly across the hall from the loudest ice machine in the world, we asked the front desk clerk if we could change rooms. The clerk told us that he could not change our room because the hotel was sold out. Even though it was only 3:00 pm & there's no way everyone already checked in. I'm not even sure why the ice machine is in a room with a door if the door is propped open all night. I closed the door 3 times throughout the night, and the staff kept propping back open. ALL NIGHT LONG WE HEARD THE ICE MACHINE WHINING, DROPPING ICE EVEN WHEN NO ONE WAS PUSHING THE BUTTON, & THE ELEVATOR GOING UP & DOWN. It kept waking up our 1 year old so none of us really slept at all. At check out we mentioned it to the front desk clerk that happened to be the general manager, and we could tell that he really didn't care, even when I showed him a video of how LOUD it was. We didn't ask for a reduced rate, but he didn't offer it either. We work in the hotel business, so I'm not exaggerating when I say it is the loudest ice machine ever. The cost to replace it is under $1k, so why not replace it to make your future guests content? "Because it's working, so why replace it?" I wish I could upload this video to show you how loud it was.. Oh & the internet was way too slow to stream netflix. Other than that the hotel, atrium & the indoor pool was nice. read more

We actually stayed here when we moved from California to Texas 14 hrs ago and what a change. Since then it haas been completely remodeled and it was done very nicely. It was clean then and cleaner now. The continental breakfast has improved immensely. Now they serve eggs, a type of potato, bacon and sausage, bagels, toast, cereal and of course sled make waffles and get this a yogurt bar!! the next day there was sausage and biscuits with gravy. milk, OJ, coffee is also available. Pool and spa ( it was Feb we didn't use) but very clean. They also have a business center, self serve laundry if needed and a fitness room. i was very satisfied and for less than 100.00 a night it was worth it for me!! read more

We stayed here for 5 nights. First hotel room that I have walked in and it smelled clean. Not that musty room smell. There was a fridge, microwave, keurig coffee maker, blow dryer, iron board and iron. The entire staff was friendly. The breakfast was perfect every morning. A great variety of hot and cold for the whole family. We had only one issue with the room key. They kept deactivating the last two days. The pool was fun for the kids. We had plenty of food choices around us. A Walmart around the corner to get our toiletries. We were about a half hour drive to several attractions. When we return to Schertz we will be staying here again. read more

Very unimpressed with the front desk service. Receptionist was unprofessional and spoke with an attitude the entire time as if asking her to do her job was TOO MUCH. Left the hotel shortly after the encounter and went to another hotel where I had a much more pleasant experience. Would not recommend. There are other much more welcoming hotels nearby. read more

I like this hotel for multiple reasons: 1. Clean and attractive rooms; 2. Staff were super friendly; 3. I prepaid via Priceline and didn't need to give a credit card for incidentals; 4. Indoor pool; 5. Decent breakfast with hot foods (not just continental); and 6. Keurigs in the rooms. There was ample parking with several room key accessible entrances. You can't give half-stars, or this'd be a 3.5. This place is a little out of the way from San Antonio. I booked this placed based on my corporate rate for Best Western properties. The room was decent. It was quiet. It had a Keurig k-cup type coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The bathroom was tiny, but okay. Overall, it was a decent enough hotel room. There isn't really anything nearby to speak of, but I'd just flown into San Antonio, and just needed a place to sleep for the night. The people at the front desk were pleasant. read more

The atrium were the pool is located was beautiful and relaxing and I've never seen a BW Plus like this one! The staff was amazing and helpful. The breakfast was really good too! Although I have been living in Houston for 7 years, this is my first visit to the San Antonio area. I chose this hotel based on its proximity to Natural Bridge Caverns. First off, this is a clean establishment. The common areas are immaculate and my room is not quite so, but not so bad that I feel a need to elaborate. The AC unit is one of the most quiet I have experienced, but the refrigerator makes noises overnight, sounding like there are "critters" in the room with you. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The bathroom (toilet and shower) is small, as is the "living" area. In my room, the wifi signal is only one bar in stregth and disconnects regularly. Finally, although the TV has HDMI ports, they appear to be disabled. When I travel, I regularly bring my PS4 and/or Amazon Fire Stick to keep me entertained because the TV offerings are usually lousy. This is the first hotel I've stayed at where the ports are disabled...and the TV options *are* lousy. Having several dining establishments (and a Walmart) within walking distance is a plus. read more

Great hotel! The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Enough space to stretch out and relax I enjoyed the in-room Keurig -- nice touch. The microwave and fridge came in handy with our kids. The continental breakfast was good and constantly stocked. The front desk and staff were very kind, friendly and attentive. It was nice having an indoor pool with the soaring temps during our stay. Fast food and a Starbucks within walking distance, and several restaurants and a Walmart a few minutes away. The hotel is secure and plenty of lighting in the parking lot for added security. I was concerned there would be freeway noise due to the location, but never heard it once. Quite happy with our stay and would stay there again when we are in the San Antonio area. read more

The hotel was much nicer then most average hotels. The breakfast room was large and the breakfast was better then most continental breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs and potatoes. I thought this was an excellent place to stay. I only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable. Super easy in and out right off the interstate. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable and decent shower temp and pressure. Wifi, fridge, microwave, flat screen, Keurig coffee maker. Very up to date. Extremely friendly staff. I guess if I have to complain it would be the TV channel selection wasn't that great and the remote was difficult to get to react, but that is pretty small potatoes on my list. I would stay here again, for sure. I didn't use it, but noticed a lot of kids in the indoor pool, so that would be a plus if you are dragging younguns around with you. The breakfast had a good variety of items. I usually try not to eat garbage like waffles and pastries, so it was nice that they had some good protein available like eggs and sausage. read more
