The breakfast was basically the same every day but it offered enough variety that I wasn't tired of it after 6 days and the breads were actually very high quality, just as good or better as I've been getting at nice restaurants and bakeries in this region.

I would absolutely stay here again if I returned to the area. The hotel is located within a 20 minute walk of the main train station. This is Motel One Stuttgart-Mitte, NOT Motel One Stuttgart-HBF so pay attention to the locations. They're fairly close to one another. The hotel is also accessible via an underground tunnel that connects directly to public transport and the train station, which would be so nice in bad weather. Note that the tunnels are very, very twisty and confusing, and it's way too easy to get lost trying to navigate them. For this reason, we always opted to walk "above ground" when going to and from our hotel and the train station. I found a great deal here by booking directly with the hotel, and I was impressed with the pre-arrival communication. I had plenty of clear, detailed e-mails from the hotel about my check-in and other processes well beforehand. When we arrived, our room was ready. The front desk clerk was very kind and helpful, and she spoke good English. It's a challenge to communicate in German sometimes, but we did our best. The lobby is very nice with a bar and restaurant that felt swanky yet comfortable. We were also offered complimentary fruit-flavored water upon check-in. Our room was a standard one, and it was sparse but very clean and comfortable. We had a double room that had two twin beds pushed together to make one "big" bed (typical in Europe). Each bed had crisp, white linens and an individual duvet which was so nice! There was a small open "closet" area as well as a desk and chair. I was excited because our large windows opened so we could see the street below. The room had a ballet theme with photos of dancers on the wall and thoughtful reading lamps by the headboard. The hotel designer certainly made the most use of the space available. The bathroom was my favorite: clean, modern, and user-friendly. We had a full bathroom en suite, so no walking down the hall! The hotel is located in a bustling business district, so there was tons of activity day and night. I never felt unsafe walking around, and there was always somebody nearby. We even walked all over the city from here (the largest Christmas market was about 15 minutes away on foot). Depending on what you are in town to do and see, this would be a terrific location for just about anything in Stuttgart proper! There are shops and restaurants steps away, too. I highly recommend this hotel! It may not be luxurious or fancy, but it's very comfortable, friendly, and affordable.

It looks bland on the outside, but once inside it's the epitome of European modern, clean, and simple. The in-room Wi-fi is fast and free, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom modern. Nice splash of green color on one of the walls. If I were a regular visitor of Ludwigsburg, I'd book here in a heartbeat. The breakfast buffet is expensive (mine wasn't included in my price), but above average. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, and cold food (meat, cheese, Nutella, yoghurt, fruit, etc).

The interior is kept in light (bright) colors with the highlight being an over 200 years old staircase making it impossible to reach the upper floors quietly. However, you won't hear much creaking inside the rooms due to good acoustic insulation. Rooms are spacious and furnished up to traditional German hotel star categories or better. Beds are comfortable. Unfortunately, the shades aren't all that great and, as soon as the sun rises it will be really bright inside. For me the biggest drawback and "star killer" was the hygiene, floors weren't mopped, and the bathroom wasn't clean. Overall, prices are fair and, as long as you bring your own shades and cleaning material you will enjoy your stay! ;))

Unfortunately we could not cool the room off and spent the week with the windows open. There is also very little drawer space for unpacking. The wireless in the rooms is quite expensive, AND it only allows one device to connect at a time. The restaurant was also quite expensive compared to all of the wonderful restaurants in the area. Our shower worked well and the bathroom was clean. The hotel is in a nice location in this terrific little town, right on the path to the Palace.

Our room was nice and big and love the towel warmers in the bathroom. Everyone spoke English which was nice for me and everyone was very helpful. Located next to park and walking distance from Ludwigsburg castle. They had a lot of choices on their breakfast buffets which included several cheeses, smoked salmon, bacon, eggs, waffle, sausages, different breads, fruit and desserts , champagne, fresh grapefruit, orange and mixed fruit juices, yogurts, different jams, and many more. The buffet only caused 17 Euros per person which was a great deal! We had breakfast buffet here several times during our stay and one time they even only charged us 17 Euros for two because the buffet was closing in 15 minutes and they still accommodated us. Love their fruit teas too. Kitchen and bar is only open up to 11 pm and breakfast buffet is only open until 10:30. During Chistmas day and New Year they had a very nice buffet which lasted till 1pm. I will definitely stay here again when we go back to visit family. They also have a small gym. The only thing I wish they had was free wifi in the rooms and an indoor pool.
