Today was the Battle of the Food Trucks festival and all of the kids' activities were inside this center. They had some vendors inside the building as well. Parking in front of the center can be difficult since the parking lot is small. From their Park & Rec site: The city's park and recreation department at the WS Young and Vet Memorial Blvd corner has athletics fields, and the Community Center, which is a multi purpose facility with gym, meeting rooms and outdoors event area. Newly added is Mickey's Dog Park featuring two acres of pup amenities.

So, the parking in front of the building is not very big. I'm assuming that it will be adequate for an average event. Thing Two has been here for multiple girl scout events (including today). I have voted, worked out, played racquetball, sat with my thoughts in the community garden and so much more here. This is one of the best community centers I have ever seen. As I have lived in this community for many years, I have seen this community center evolve from the basic amenities to what now houses an adequate sized gym, a racquetball players dream, an indoor regulation sized basketball court, a place to meet friends and so much more. It's often times like this when I realize that I am so fortunate to live in a community that is able to fund such an amazing place where the community actually comes together to celebrate our common interests. #bewellcentraltx

I googled the address and it came up as Chandler Creek Recreation Center and there were signs that said Meadows at Chandler Creek (which is the neighborhood we turned into from AW Grimes). Confusing. There is a nice sidewalk path you follow from the street that leads down to the pavilion. There is a sand volleyball area and basketball court too. The smaller kids had a playground to play in. The bathrooms were not bad for a park. Two stalls, one sink and hand dryer. It had plenty of grass to set up an obstacle course and camp gladiator station. For those who like to walk, there is a half sand trail and half cement path to walk around. I see the pool area is getting some work done to it. Looks like the kiddos will have fun here once it's complete.
