Not only was she aggressive when I asked her a question she did not understand she also yield at my 2 year old daughter who was playing with two animal toys she was actually going to buy. What this shop has done is to make that symbol into icon. Meaning, this shop has so much of everything that features Amplemann, or more correctly, Ampelmännchen, that it is hard to believe. The moment you walk into this shop what you will find is a little bit of everything using this man as the main focus. It's really fun and cool. I mean, this shop really has it all: tee-shirts, cups, glasses, plates, pillows, umbrellas, you name it... Pretty much anything you can think of featuring an Amplemann they have it for sale. Plus, even, The Hoff, David Hasselhoff has visited this shop as they have his photo on the wall taken inside the shop. This is an open and airy shop and the staff is always happy to help you. Wow! This is a ginormous bookstore! Four floors of books and more, with information kiosks…read morestaffed for any and all inquiries. I am floored by the amount of books, in every single category imaginable. Yes, they have a large children's section. There is a giant plush figure standing near a black pole in front of the children's books. I checked out each floor. I'm a sucker for novelty items, which they have plenty of. They sell multiple models of Polaroid cameras and film. Tons of calendars in different formats. Their vinyl room is on the ground floor, in the back. The store is sleek, clean, and organized. If you're in Berlin, I recommend visiting this store.

Beyond an insane collection of books, they also have tons of very unique novelty items that make great gifts or, something for yourself-- something that you never knew you needed. This shop is a multilevel business. They have multiple floors with books and other items on every floor. Plus, it is just stuffed full with an insane amount of books covering all varieties to quench your reading experience. As mentioned, they are much more than just an incredible bookstore. They also have a great selection of vinyl. So, for all of you vinyl enthusiasts, this is a great place to go and find that unique piece of music that you've wanted either very recently or all the way back to when you were young. It's really hard to explain just how much this store offers. I mean, if you're looking for a specific book, it's more than likely they will have. And, if they don't, they can most likely get it for you. Dussmann's great places to sit around and take a look at that book you may be interested in purchasing. This is a fantastic little store with fun souvenirs from local artists and businesses. They have a great selection of books, postcards, prints & posters, knickknacks, t-shirts, and artsy/designy things that I love. They also have espresso! The shop owner was very nice too. As tourists in Berlin, we definitely love stores that benefit local artists and businesses owners over the usual boring souvenir shops.
