They kept saying they didn't receive it. I had to contact primary care several times to have them fax the referral to them a couple times until they finally received it. They got a pre-authorization from my insurance company which means they accepted me as a patient. They scheduled me for several visits so I blocked myself on my work schedule. I filled out all the paperwork , showed up at my very first appointment because I was very excited about a new journey and I was told that they will not be able to see me. It was very unprofessional the way that the staff didn't have a clue that they don't accept my insurance until one of the other staff members pointed it out. she said just because they don't accept my insurance, I wont be able to pay out-of-pocket to be seen. They obviously had some discrimination against me. I would never waste my time to see these unprofessional people that called themselves a clinic. They didn't even apologize enough for wasting my time to come in , to fill paperwork and to go back and forth with my primary care.

He met with me, talked to me about my goals and discussed what sort of options were available to me. He never once made me feel like it was a hard sell - more, he was here to answer my questions and encourage me. Most importantly, he assured me that this wasn't going to be something that was going to drive me away. The team was going to work with me at my pace. I decided I'd go three mornings a week - totally crazy, right?! Now, I work with Vince three early mornings a week. Vince is awesome! He's fun to work with, super knowledgeable - always taking the time to explain things to me. And, most importantly, he's encouraging. The DEXA scanner is inside the van but don't let that fool you. Kalen walks you through the process, what to expect during the scan. Before you know it, it's done. Afterwards, Kalen goes through your results in detail, and of course, leaves room for questions at the end. All this is done in about 20-30 and not once did we feel rushed (even though there is an appointment afterwards). You also get an email copy of your DEXA results. The results itself is highly detailed and highlights what your weight consists of (fat tissue vs lean tissue). Now that we have baseline numbers, we can see if our training and conditioning plan will be paying off in the utmost geek manner. Whether you're trying to lose weight or gain more muscle (or both!), this is a great way to find out.

I will be honest and say that after my consult I didn't know if I could go through with it. As a brazilian waxer for most of my adult life, the thought of not having to wax was what made me buy the deal. A laser is oh so different then wax though. The test spot they did HURT. Like hurt enough to make me walk out of there wondering if I would be back. Jenny the laser tech reassured me though and I showed up for my first appointment today. The appointment started on time and it was much better then I thought. Not only is Jenny as quick as she can be, but they use a cooling gel and a cold air machine to help numb the pain. She also gave me a stress ball which helped as well. I'm already seeing results literally immediately after which is exciting. The office is located in the Providence complex and is set up like a medical clinic...because it is a medical clinic. I felt like I was getting a medical treatment with a spa touch which to me is great when I'm letting someone wielding a laser near my lady bits. I bought a Living Social Coupon as well and found that while I had to wait a few months to get started, the staff was very willing to try to accommodate my schedule. I live in Tillamook and can only come into Portland on the weekends. When I told them this, the staff at the front desk created an appointment for me where there wasn't supposed to be one for several different Saturdays. That's some customer service! I will agree that the laser treatments were very painful to begin with. The best way to describe what my "test patch" felt like was (and I actually said this after my first appointment): "It felt like a thousand bee stingers were concentrated into one small point and jammed into my skin." The poor girl who did my first two laser treatments heard more expletives than I thought were possible at a doctor's office. I pondered the idea of going back, but figured I had paid the money, so why not try it out? I heard from other friends who had been lasered that the first 2 laser treatments are painful, but they get better as time wears on. They were so right! My last treatment was not bad at all, and I am glad I stuck it out. The staff is always friendly and courteous, and also fun to chat with at each visit. I have had two different laser technicians and both of them seemed knowledgeable and ready to answer all of my questions. So overall, a very good (yet painful at times) experience.

She also takes insurance if you have the coverage. Rolfing is NOT a massage. It is total body work. Jenny is also very friendly and puts you at ease. I HIGHLY recommend her or any other Rolfer in her clinic.
