One year ago, I was searching for a home health aide to care for my elderly parent. I made a list…read moreof the ones that received positive reviews, and started making phone calls. I learned there is a big difference between an "agency" and a "registry". I was determined to select an agency, since the staff are employees of company, and receive benefits and compensation through them. With companies that are registries, the workers are not employees. They are contracted through the registry. On my list to contact was "Care on Call Home Healthcare." It was the best call I made. Hector Morales explained how background checks are completed on his staff, in all 50 states. That is unusually thorough, and I was impressed. They carry workman's compensation insurance for their staff, as well. Mr. Morales began his company in 2008, because he recognized there was a lack of quality agencies in our South Florida community. His own parents were aging, and required care at home. He was in the same situation many of us find ourselves in. An aide from "Care on Call Home Healthcare" has been caring for my father for almost a year now. I can't adequately express my gratitude over the great level of care he receives at home. Camille L.

The…read morewoman in the office Debra told me the nurses were complaining that my father (who is in a wheelchair and unable to stand or walk) has grabbed the nurses and talks inappropriately to them. WHEN i called the company i explained dad has inappropriate sexual behavior so they were aware of that. My father cant stand and if he grabs at them it is very easy to move back or ask him to stop. AS NURSES they should be aware that people with alzheimers have this behavior and be skilled nurses and know how to defuse the situation. One nurse slapped my fathers hand when he went to grab at her. I didnt like that and the nurses not staying the full time i am billed for isnt right either. I cant say I am a satisfied customer anymore. They should train their nurses to deal with this behavior not cry back to the office staff about it. ESPECIALLY after I told them he has this behavior. I went to high school with the owner Hector and am awaiting a call back from him...I am not happy! I took a photo of the bathroom..the nurses say it's too small for them to work with my father in which is not true!

The Doc listens to your concerns and develops a plan. After really a thorough battery of test another consultation, the plan is explained in detail. I am now down 89 pounds. I am no longer on blood pressure medicine and my a1c numbers have dropped significantly. I feel stronger and have a lot more energy. I go to IM as a supplement to my family physician as cookie cutter medicine did not have the answers I needed. My primary care physician was impressed with the testing that Dr. Petteruti performed and really impressed with the results. So much so that I only need to see her once a year. One issue I had that IM's testing showed was a high level of heavy metals. As my career was spent in manufacturing, that is not surprising. The chelation IV drips are addressing that issue. Again, my primary care doc is all on board with Dr. Petteruti's treatments. Big box medicine addresses symptoms in a wack -a- mole methodology. Dr. Petteruti addresses the root cause to help you be heathy.

He was diagnosed with both vascular dementia and Alzheimer's in 2015, and eventually he needed more care than I could provide for him at home. They kept him clean and dry and well taken care of. Everything is done on a schedule here, and it's a good thing because the residents all know when meals & snack times are. They get changed on a schedule (and sometimes someone needs an extra change) and they keep a list of the residents for each changing time so no one gets missed. The facility smells clean and looks clean all the time. They have a dining room with fresh cooked meals for every meal, no prepackaged or microwave stuff. They have doctors, nurses, podiatrists, physical therapists, and hair dressers etc all come in, so the stress of taking him for appointments was gone. I didn't have to bring anything except for clothes and toiletries, they washed and/or provided everything else. The main "living room" on the first floor is used during the day for activities, and it has big windows and comfortable chairs for visiting in. Or you can visit on the covered back patio that has ceiling fans so it doesn't get too hot. The building has a backup generator, hurricane windows and is a hurricane shelter. I signed a paper that said he could stay there during hurricanes, which gave me peace of mind too. They have a fire sprinkler system in the whole building and fire extinguishers are easily seen on every wall. They are set up for 45 residents, and each attendant/caregiver has 4-5 residents to take care during the day, so everyone has help. Everyone knew my husband's name, which was a big deal to me. I wanted him to be treated as a person until the end, and he was. The monthly price was all-inclusive, so no added surprises. They billed medicare for his meds and doctor visits, so I didn't even have to do that. All I did was visit him, bring snacks, and sit and talk with him. Having him live at Mi Casa was a great decision!
