Loud banging, not spinning the water out. My wife and I have been going to the Laundromat for the last month (calling it our date night)...but that add up. 1. I looked up a few businesses for estimate: Affordable In-House responded in minutes to my request and got me on the books for the next morning (today). 2. Jonathan (the tech) called me before coming out and showed up promptly. Super nice guy. 3. He asked me what the problem was--and then he re-created it. 4. He told me that he could fix it and said "to be honest, for what it is going to cost you, you could buy a brand new machine." And then explained that I could probably continue using it until I hat a new machine but suggested smaller loads and explained what will happen as it continues to break down. Problem was barring and spider...something...I just nodded my head like I know what head meant. Cause that's what men do. It cost me about $60 to have him come out and diagnose and give estimate. Awesome. From first impressions and first contact, through communications and notifications, to Jonathan leaving...Great experience! 100%

Have shopped for years, but today, it was very different. The helper seemed much younger than in…read morethe past. I needed to get some chain cut and the kid helping me asked an older associate what you cut chain with! When I finally got to checkout, only checkouts were do it yourself ones. No problem until I got to the chain which I had been given a slip of paper with the skew number and I also had one bolt and 3 nuts which you can't scan. The Associate at self checkout was deep in another issue for another customer and told me it would be best to go to the service desk. Soo I completed the checkout of the items that I had scanned, when to the service desk waited probably 10 minutes for someone to help me. Gave him the slip with info for the chain and he was confused. Said he was new and did not know how to enter it, he tried but could not get it, 5 more minutes. He called over another Associate who also explained she was new but did finally figure it out plus she had learned that morning how to deal with nuts and bolts, another 5 minutes. So checkout took about 20 minutes. Need to train staff or have someone who knows how to do stuff available. Not the experience I'm use to at HD.

I walked in and said I came for the sod we talked about on the phone. He said sorry I sold it. I'm so upset with this. He said he couldn't have saved it for me. In December 2025, I visited an Ollie's store to purchase household items. I spent just under $100,…read morewhich is a significant purchase for that retailer. After completing my purchase and exiting the store, I was confronted outside by two police officers who were standing with a female Ollie's employee. As I walked past, the employee pointed at me and stated, "That is him," and accused me of stealing merchandise. One of the items mentioned was a carbon monoxide detector. I was told that I had walked down an aisle where an empty package for that item was later found. During this interaction, I was repeatedly asked about a Black male they claimed was my partner, despite the fact that no one was with me. The police searched my person and my bags and found no stolen items. I was then released without any charges or further action. While sitting in my vehicle afterward, I observed another incident where two college-aged individuals exited the store: an African American male and a Caucasian female. Police searched the male and found nothing; the female was not searched. I believe I was wrongly accused and subjected to unequal and biased treatment. This experience was humiliating and distressing, and I believe Ollie's bears responsibility for the actions of its employee that led to this incident.
