But I says to myself I says, "Asthma Foundation is an op shop, and the more business they get, the more help they can provide to others". Yeeah. You're best to treat Mitchelton Asthma Foundation like a genie that will provide you with eternal materialistic wishes. I walked in there yesterday wishing for a large, oven proof casserole dish, (rare as hens teeth in op shops these days I find), and sure enough, up in the back corner of the shop, I found exactly what I was looking for. Other times, I've wished for sequined costumes, Victorian style brooches, crocodile figurines, all sorts of things. If you can imagine it, you'll probably find it in here. The back end of the shop is devoted to costumes. They have organised it into eras- from 1950's- 1990's. They've even got a sign that says "We love helping you with costumes, please ask us for assistance as we have more out the back that you may like". Bless! I don't know how it happens, but this Asthma Foundation has great costumes and clothes. It is a gold mine in every way you look at it. The real treasure trove part of this shop is the fabric collection at the back end of the store. If you're into sewing or textile crafts, this is the place to come. You'll even find some well priced vintage fabric if you're lucky. Because it's a suburban op shop, the prices haven't been jacked up which means it's a great place to find a bargain find, or more likely, finds. Bring a large garbage bag when you go in there and stock up. This shop makes everyone happy, from the shop ladies who sing along to the olden goldies radio station they listen to in store, to the customers who dance in store and sit on the ground making monstrous purchase piles.

Reasonably priced, well presented and neat but still heaps to dig through and find a gem. There is parking on the street at the front but it can be a bit difficult to snag a spot during lunch hour. The clothes are well organised into sizes, womens, mens and kids and the range of accessories is fantastic. Some awesome bargains to be had. The staff are always friendly and happy to have a chat. I have never failed to find an amazing score each time I go (including a beatiful brand new black dress with lace details and POCKETS for under $5). So good I almost don't want to share.

Sox Magic is one of those little stores in the centre of the walk way in Westfield Chermside. As…read morethe name suggests they do have a heap of socks (magical qualities not proven). They also have a decent range of tote bags, hats and accessories. I tend to buy my socks on sale (plain black or sports) as I'm not really a sock girl, but they have a very cute range that almost tempted me into the colour spectrum. Their kids range was also extensive and cute, confirming that kids are SO much easier to buy for. As I'd look a bit ridiculous in frilled polka dot socks I stuck to more staid versions.

They stock all the conventional standbys in business wear as well as some cool variations on the traditional which will appeal to the fashion forward corporate types. I went there to buy a couple of new shirts before a job interview a few years ago and came away with two shiny new additions to my wardrobe and surprisingly, change from $100. One of the finds, a fine white cotton number with a small collar and buttons down to the navel, has become one of my favourites for its casual yet stylish look and comfortable feel. Their "Cue in the City" branch I am not as much a big fan of (it's cheaper but also cheaper quality) so I prefer Cue itself. They do go through seasons of being awesome and then seasons of being crappy, but when they are on, they are on fire. And they do have sales pretty frequently, so keep your eyes open. I have purchased some truly beautiful items from here which have lasted for years so I definitely recommend. I have been in this particular store several times and the staff have always been great. Not too pushy but happy to give advice/options if asked. And willing to see if another store has the right size.

Chrissy Bags is the kind of store you would probably walk past without noticing. This shop looks…read moreawful as you walk past; it looks very chaotic and non-welcoming but as you rummage through, you will find some nice on-trend handbag designs by some recognisable brands. I first discovered this store back when I was a uni student and noticed a friend of mine had a really cute Ostrich-skin bag (Ostrich skin had made a small comeback at the time). She proudly told me it was by Tony Bianco, that she bought it at 'Chrissy Bags' and that it cost her only $50. So later that day, another friend and I decided to check this store out. Initially, we were taken back at how cluttered the store looked but nevertheless, we walked in and started rummaging through the range. In the end, I did not find a but my friends did, a $50 Tony Bianco bag (but one was in a floral print)! Not everything in the store looks very trendy, but there are some nice bags in here. If only the owners paid more attention on their visual merchandising and presentation- it could be a more popular store.

It is a family owned business and they are keen to please (unlike some of the other bag shops where you sometimes feel like an intruder). There is a loyalty program too. Luring all who dare to get tempted, through its doors. I am more than happy for this store to tempt me. They have such a great range of dress-up accessories and best of all, they are cheap. Not cheap in an nasty way, far from it. The jewellery and bags sold here are of the latest trends and fashion, just done at wonderfully welcoming prices. Easy on the wallet and easy on the eye! They have great prices and great quality stuff. Out of all the times i have been here i dont think i have ever walked out empty handed. I only just the other day walked out with a fantastac large handbag and nice rope chain bracelet and only paid $35 all up. You tell me where you can go with a great bargain like that. Not only that but the girls that work there i find always to be really friendly and welcoming and never pushy. I purchased a number of items online for a trip I had in 5.5 weeks. After 2 weeks of seeing they had not yet even been sub to be shipped out, I wrote them an email. They wrote back saying they would ship my things out, but that they no longer had a number of the items in stock - and could they pick some items for me? I wish I had said no, but I agreed as long as they could get the shipment out that day. What they should have done, the professional thing to do, would have been to refund me for the items they no longer had in stock and offered to expedite my shipping. It has now been 4 weeks since I put in the order. I have not received my items. I imagine I'll receive them in a week or two, when I no longer have need of the items I ordered. The store is a cute local shop - they do not have the customer service skills to being doing retail on a global scale.

Do I talk about the collection of Zines and Mag's I have perused here on many an occasion? The range of amazing woman's clothing I have lusted over? The art events they have hosted? Or the friendly staff I've had good chats with? it is a bit more than your average retail space. I've been coming here for a while and I love their sourced and curated collection of eclectic designs from artists around the globe. Definitely worth a gander if you are valley side!

This place sells London Rebel shoes - quite nice styles and surprisingly affordable - as well as relevant fashion styles and some really standout jewellery pieces and accessories. They also occasionally sell some Sass & Bide. I was drawn in by the really distinctive skirts and dresses. You pretty much have your pick of styles here; if you need festival fashions, just ask to see their playsuits and shorts; if you want a cute weekend outfit, take your pick of the patterned dresses. Or go more casual and choose a cami with one of their remarkable jewellery pieces. Side Street is another great stop on a Paddington shopping day.

They have a lot of gorgeous clothes in here, ranging from casual to special occasion styles, for men and women. I was stoked to find the dress I eventually bought, and on sale for only $20. As well as stocking super trendy clothes, the shop is really nicely set up with helpful but not pushy service. I will definitely be returning to this place, and I can hardly wait.
