When I went back for the procedure after a quick X-ray of my teeth and explanation of the process they said it would take 5 to 10 minutes so I went without the anesthesia. They put the numbing in my mouth which stung for just a moment but went away right after. Dr. Jason Jenny they said his name was came in they told me to open up. I felt a little bit of pressure but no pain at all and BOOM! My wisdom tooth was out in 5 seconds before I even noticed. I saw them pull out a white thing out of the corner of my eye. I was like, "Is that my tooth?" But before my brain could finish that sentence he quickly discards the tooth and drops the tool on the table like a mike drop and jokingly says "sorry that took so long".

I mean, I used to go to the very first Park Dental that was in Brooklyn Center growing up and then that chain just blew up. With that blowing up(went to the Grand location), I never had the same dentist or friendly service or care that I used to receive. It was nice but it felt like a factory and when you are all up in there, I kinda want to know you. And now I do. Paul is awesome and the staff at the office are alway top-notch. The front desk staff is great and is very helpful when it comes to insurance, which can be tough as a patient. I actually stopped going here a couple years ago as my insurance changed. My wife had started going there before we got married and I got on her insurance just to go to Mendes. If you're looking for a great local dentist, this is your place.

I was very impressed. Dr. Ballin was matter of fact but kind, however, during my procedure I became a bit scared due to medical PTSD from an extended hospital stay because of being caught in a house fire. Something triggered that, and I began to mildly hyperventilate. Rather than speak kindly and softly to me to try to calm me down, Dr. Ballin became irritated and snapped at me to calm down and not hyperventilate. This did not help. When I went to see him for the wisdom tooth removal consult, totally unprompted, he told me, "Because of how your throat is built, you would still have sleep apnea even if you weren't so heavy." Thanks for the comment on my weight, sir, but pretty sure I did not ask for your opinion either on that or on sleep apnea. He lost my business after this. I now use OMS. If you're thin, he's a great oral surgeon, but if you're "heavy" I'd suggest avoiding his practice since he seems to be unable to keep his thoughts on appearance to himself.
