This year the festivities are back and with a bang. The place was crowded but not overly crowded. The park had food trucks, music, entertainment and games for kids. This use to be one of the best fireworks. The fireworks are still good and one of the best in the area. The view is closes compared to other fireworks I have been to. This is the only time of the year I visit this park.

My son was hesitant while we waited, but once we stepped inside, the staff member operating the elevator was incredibly friendly and put him at ease. The moment we stepped onto the bridge, the views were beautiful. We wandered around, read the dedication plaques, and my son immediately wanted to run everywhere -- he didn't want to leave! We eventually convinced him because the museum was next on our list, but he made it clear he wanted to come back. We'll definitely return and walk the full length next time. Such a great find.

I saw a huge field that is used for soccer. On the lake, you can fish and use non motorized boats; a boat launch is available. This recreation area is suitable for walking, jogging, hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, canoeing, bird watching, picnicing, and camping; for camping, you need to get permission from the Town of Avon. I walked the red trail then got off that trail halfway and walked by the well pump building; this brought me back to the parking lot. That walk was about 2.54 miles because I didn't want to do the bigger loop. On the AllTrails app, there are two trails in the park; Spring Lake and Fisher Meadows Loops. The walk was easy but there were some flooded and muddy areas. I have a feeling it is buggy in the summer but on this fine sunny March day, it was very pleasant except for getting my sneakers wet. Overall, a great space to enjoy the great outdoors.

As awkward, weird or interesting as her thoughts around this are, I would have liked to think there is more substance to that shallow remark she gave me in the office. For example, knowing I do enjoy the mountains, rural life and cars, those are other great reasons to suggest going to Limerock. Limerock has a FABULOUS track and with the Berkshire mountains overlooking the track, it's even more stunning. The races are all day events so you don't necessarily have to show up when doors open. You do need to bring your own chairs and there is food on the premise. Honestly, I packed my own picnic goodies and brought my own homemade lunch while i sat and watched the race. I was at the Memorial day and mid July races and even in May it can get really hot which became uncomfortable after a few hours. If you can't be in the heat due to fainting, dizziness, etc, be cautious if you decide to go to Limerock. I had to leave at around 2pm or so, because i wasn't able to sit outside for that long. Also bring a hat, specific garments to have for all kinds of weather. You can layer up or dress loosely depending on weather.

If you look at that monument that's in here, you can actually walk in and their steps it's a spiral staircase and it goes up, which seems like forever, but the view of top are amazing to see overlooking the water and seeing everything around, but I will tell you this it's not something I would want to do every day that is quite the walk. But there's so much to see them outside as well as in if you're ever in the area, definitely take a look. It is worth seeing. Thank you for listening.
