this is a very nice library. The building architecture is my favorite in the city. Im really glad…read morethe city fixed it up and made it usanle again. It looks like a fort and a castle. The library it self is fairly small in terms of number of books but i guess the town is pretty small. It has computer for use and free wifi which is a huge plus. They do not hace a lot of travel books which i like to check out. There is plenty of comfy chairs to read or study. It's not noisy usually and staff is friendly. Note that there is no cell phone use in order to keep a quiet environment for others. They do enforce this. It's understandable but annoying if you just need a quick call. There are a few secluded places where you can relax with a good book or study for a test.

I love the East Greenbush library. They used to be in a small space in the East Greenbush Town Hall…read moreand when they built the new one it was only about a third full but over time they've grown to fill it. I wasn't too keen on the space to begin with but it's grown on me. They've got a great selection of books, DVDs, and Cd's, lots of computers to use, comfy chairs to sit and read in and lots of space to work. There are only a couple negatives - a lot of the high school kids hang out here on weekday afternoons, not a bad thing but they can be a little loud sometimes, and the checkout counter has no system for lining up. I've seen kids stand there with a pile of books waiting to check out and some adult comes along and walks to the counter in front of them. It would be good if they had some stanchions like they have in banks just to make things more organized.

Above is the main library and below (down a ramp) the New York State museum with exhibits on American indians, 9-11, the Dutch colonies and warfare/exploration in New York State. Since the only lonely review is from some dude who drove from Minneapolis to Albany, to get wifi (says a lot about internet in Minnesota).. I'll leave a short recap of this place. It's fun for all ages. The old museum exhibits were a thrill for my Grampa. He especially loved the re-enactments, stalls with goods for sale and glass encasements with history items; clothes, cannons, miniatures, maps. Awesome exhibits (rotated). Nifty, large (multi-leveled) library with benches to sit near windows. Brilliant place. Review: 5
