Upon my arrival I waited over an hour past my appointment time to get in to have my exam. Upon checking out I was given (2) Pair of trial contacts and asked for $120. I owed $120 for the exam, contact & prescription exam & lenses that were trials. Mind you THIS WAS ON TOP OF THEM CHARGING MY INSURANCE ALL OF MY ALLOWANCE FOR THE YEAR! So I Paid $120 Dollars and then they claimed every bit of my yearly allowance for 2 trial pair of contacts. Upon leaving their facility I could immediately tell my prescription wasn't right as everything was blurry. I then used those 2 pair of trial lenses to make it to my normal eye doctor once he opened back up. Upon going to my normal eye dr to have an exam I paid the $85 dollars for the exam & prescription and told the cashier I should have an allowance towards lenses being that I only received trial lenses. She then told me that I have no allowance for anything until 1/1/2021! I contacted Stevens optical and to my complete surprise I was treated like a complete idiot! The moment I began speaking with the Gentleman there he was immediately on Defense mode & wanting to argue. His tone was as if he was annoyed & put out of his way to deal with my concern. He began telling me the charges that are seperate for the contact exam & eyeglass exam. I then told him "The prescription is the same how is there a difference in that". Once I said that his response was "WELL IF YOU CANT COMPREHEND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONTACT LENSE EXAM & EYEGLASS EXAM I AM NOT SURE HOW WE ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THIS CONVERSATION". I said "Oh thats nice Insulting my intelligence, I will just contact the BBB". He THEN HUNG UP ON ME! After a few minutes he called me back on my work phone & got my boss WHO HAS DEALT WITH THEIR COMPANY & GOT SCREWED AS WELL! My Boss told him I am not available to talk as I was with a customer & Hung up on him. I wouldnt recommend this place to absolutely anyone! There's a sale once a year where I go and get my pretty frame. My prescription is high, and they use a great lab to make the lenses fit just right (if you don't have a high prescription, you may not understand what I mean). Oh and Heidi and one of her receptionist (forgot her name) are fantastic at finding a frame to fit your face. They know what they carry and where everything is!

I would be OK with the premium prices of $500-700ish on the frames I tried on, IF there were frames that fit my face and preferred style. But what I liked just didn't suit my face shape. I just couldn't find a single frame that I was in love with that sat well on me. It wasn't for lack of trying. Instead I wasted my time bringing frames I already had and liked back in. The other thing that didn't sit with me philosophically is that they were OK to charge me totally out of pocket (almost $500 for my prescription), but couldn't be bothered to let me use my optical insurance to bring that price down for me. Buyer beware, especially since the style frames they have aren't for everyone. I'd actually liked the styles they carried and that's why I'd chosen them, but none sat well enough on my face. If they can't be bothered to save their customers a couple hundred dollars if there is no frame sale in it for them, that doesn't jive with me philosophically.
