When we were discharged from the hospital, I remember one of the nurses like walking me all the way to the car making sure I was like buckled in and they warmly said goodbye to me. I had unlimited supply of water and round the clock assistance whenever I needed it, and they worked with my birthing Doula quite well during the actual birth.

I signed up for a primary care (PC) doctor here ~ 4 years ago and they've consistently let me down…read more On more than 1 occasion my doctor failed to order tests I specifically requested. If they're only giving my 5 minutes of my doctor's time, the least they could do is pay attention and get it right. I'm not confident that Mychart messaging adequately protects patient privacy. They frame it like youre messaging your PC directly however every time use this feature i either dont get a response or I wait several days to get a thoughtless response from some random non-medical person in the office. I recently waited 1.5 - 2 months to get a 15 minute call with my doctor, but they cancelled at the last minute because I mentioned that I'm traveling out of state for work which I have to do quite frequently. John Muir Health policy is to only speak with you when you're physically in CA which in my case creates an unacceptable amount of time where I lack coverage. Needless to say, I'm looking elsewhere for a new PC.

I had a wonderful experience here today when I needed to go in for a neurology appointment…read more Everybody was incredibly kind and communicated clearly what the process was going to look like, from the woman at the front desk, helping me with paperwork to the nurse who very kindly adjusted taking my blood pressure to a way that was far more comfortable on my plus size body, to the nurse practitioner I had the appointment with (Iva Esparza) who really listened to my concerns and was happy to not use an AI notetaking app, even though I'm sure that was more convenient for her. Every time I see a new medical professional, it can come with a lot of anxiety, because I have not always gotten fair or compassionate medical treatment, but I feel really confident in pursuing treatment options here. My blood pressure went way down after my appointment, and I left feeling good about next steps.

As a patient, I am probably the worst when it comes to anticipating stress, pain, and that feeling of not being in control. Yet at Stanford Medical Center Emeryville, I found myself actually relaxing before surgery. Every member of the team took the time to get to know me, understand my needs, and help me navigate what could have been one of the toughest experiences. This breast reduction has changed my life for the better. Knowing that the maestro of reduction surgery was on my side has made my future feel lighter, healthier, and more fulfilling. With the expert precision of Dr. Miller in Plastic Surgery, I am living my dream without the constant back pain. As a surgeon, he is exceptional. As a human being, he truly cares. He listens, he understands, and he gets you. I would do it all over again -- especially knowing my Stanford Medical team would be there beside me. Forever grateful. #K9JenniferSharpe #StanfordMedical #BreastReduction #PlasticSurgery #LifeChanging #Grateful

I've been trying to reach the clinic for nearly a week and NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. Where are all the operators? I try calling in all different hours of the day hoping to get someone. I've only gotten someone to pick up the phone ONCE. They transferred me to the wrong department. I call back again and they AGAIN transferred me to ANOTHER wrong department. I gave up for that day. Since then, I have been on hold for nearly an hour each time I call in, and no operator will pick up the phone. I've had an urgent referral sent over and can't even reach anyone to make an appointment. I've been to other Stanford Health clinics and didn't have this kind of experience. Too bad this Emeryville clinic location is the only one that has the center that I need. I am shocked at how horrible the staffing is here and I haven't even visited this location physically yet. Absolutely despicable.

He was informed by the nurse who administered the skin test that he is welcome to go into any Sutter urgent care facility for this matter. The front desk person was extremely kind at this Berkeley location, however, she informed us that the charge "person" (wasn't specified as a nurse or physician) that this cannot be performed at the location. We were simply told "we don't do that here." Sort of irresponsible given my husband is a physician, sees 20+ patients every day and needs to be cleared of TB. The front desk person also informed us that "there is no one here" even though they were open. It was also not very busy, and we were more than willing to wait! My husband also explicitly stated that it can be made a visit so that the provider wasn't working for free. My husband was polite, obviously annoyed, but it was shocking to just be turned away by a team member. No care was provided by any provider despite his explicit instruction that any Sutter urgent care could read the test. We called the Sutter Tracy Urgent Care and were told they can provide readings but not administer the test. Not sure if the Sutter policy is that urgent care facilities can conduct readings but can't administer the test. Would have been nice to be given any ounce of consideration by a provider!

Dr. Fitzer was both professional and friendly. The whole thing was submitted right after my appointment and I got my Visa 2 days later.
