I went to Eve First as a teenager in need of assistance. Our first and only session was full of tears and my willingness to share and listen to anything that would be helpful. I was ready to embark on a journey of wellness. Not only was Eve First not helpful in any way, she also called my father to tell him she refuses to see me again. He was the messenger of this information. She could not even say it to me or call me directly. And I have struggled with this over the years feeling a sense of worthlessness, low self esteem, and shame that an adult female therapist did not see value in me and that I was not worth her time or the money she would receive. As an adult, I realize that her refusal to help a young girl in need was vicious and unprofessional, and also says far more about her than it does about me. Although, the pain is still present. Talk about dealing with abandonment issues, my goodness. This woman created a hole in my soul as a young person seeking help. I wish I could give zero stars. She offered the opposite of therapy.
