You have to go all the way in to nearly where the inner tables are located. The buffet is located in the middle of the restaurant, big groups are set in the back room, and small groups are in the front. I got the Saftig gegrilltes Spanferkel (juicy suckling pig) and Sächsischer Sauerbraten (Saxony Saurbraten - like a slow cooked beef). Both dishes came with a specified cabbage side, and potato ball. The juicy pig was definitely the better of the two and included slices of the crispy skin, and fatty insides. In the end, there was too much food for us to finish. Cute decor, but as with most tourist traps - not really worth the price.

The menu changes often and I see that they don't have what we had on the menu now. But I will say that the shredded goat in pastry shell we had was amazingly well done. Absolutely perfect. We also ordered fish in a green yoghurt sauce that was so light and fresh, and two kinds of fish, both cooked perfectly. The waitress was smart, kind and very knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. We'll return.

The chicken was good but the pasta dish itself was quite flavorless. The pork steak was alright - I think we just waited too long for our food to judge objectively. The service here was also very slow and all over the place. Very often we found the waiter just walking around doing nothing while guests (including us) were clearly trying to flag them down. They also appeared to be understaffed.

The restaurant upstairs is ugly but quirky. And the food ? Ugly, though, and bad. Salad of mini tomatoes and mozzarella (di buffala) of which only the basil was tasty. After you wait at the desk, they seat you. I made a reservation on OpenTable but it was pretty chill at 7.15pm on a Tuesday evening. When you are seated, they give you a full page of instructions that tell you how it works. You order on a tablet. Before each item is placed, there is a confirmation. On the same tablet, you can review your bill. Because you're ordering each item one at a time, things come when they are ready. My beer came in a regular beer mug on a serving robot. After you grab your order, you tap the screen to indicate that you are done. My food came via the "roller coaster." Unfortunately, there's no warning so it just appears. If it doesn't land exactly in front of you, you have to turn the table so it moves along the track and you can reach it. Something weird happened during my experience there. Two additional drinks and a food I didn't order arrived. When I didn't go for it, the server came over to ask what was going on. I said I didn't order these items and she pulled up my bill and the items were there. I told her I didn't order them (I didn't). She was confused. I asked if this ever happened before. She said it didn't. Fortunately, she took the drinks and food away. When it's time to pay/leave, you indicate that on the tablet and someone comes to the table to do the transaction. My receipt had exactly the items that I ordered. I asked if she figured out what happened. Apparently another table's tablet was programmed to my location. Oh. Other than that, it was an interesting concept and decent food.

Maybe the Facebook video had better coasters, or it was more greased up, but the food did not slide very fast during my visit. Trays would stick on the rails and other trays would catch up and push it along. You also don't know when anything is coming unless you keep looking up at the person that is about to load the rails. As far as the food goes, everything just tasted fine, nothing to write home about. The menus are only in German, so have Google Translate ready, or just go by the pictures. The wait for the food was absolutely ridiculous, though. If you've got kids and don't mind waiting a long time for average food, this wouldn't be a bad choice.
