Everyone I met in the salon is super nice, upbeat and friendly. Jonny made me an amazing tea and recommend some nice hand cream for my skin. I had an apt for my daughter and myself to get pedicures. While the tech was nice, she never talked, was very slow, didn't even shape our toenails, they weren't even & looked a mess when we left. At the price we paid it was 100% NOT worth the visit. I would not recommend this salon for pedicure services. read more

My experience at Benton Square was amazing! I got a spa pedicure and manicure. From the beginning, I was welcomed with kind smiles and greetings from the staff at the front desk. My nail tech, Amanda, was incredible! She was detailed in her work and took a genuine interest in ensuring the pedicure (e.g., massage, shape, color) was to my liking. This is a fantastic salon. My stylist, Laura, gave me a wonderful cut and heavy highlights a couple days ago and it's probably one of the best haircuts I've ever had. She listened carefully to what I wanted and put her years of experience to work! (Side bar: I had a low blood sugar attack in the chair, and she was quick with a granola bar. She's such a sweetheart). I've also had Bart, who is just as wonderful! The only reason why I switched stylists was due to a change in my schedule. Ashley does my brows, and is very talented, also. I've lived here for almost five years. After a year I wanted to trim my mid-length hair and at the recommendation of a friend I tried a hair stylist who ended up chopping it up. I waited a couple months and at a recommend of a different friend went to her stylist to fix it but to no avail it did not happen. So I waited another couple of months to grow out then used Yelp to find a stylist in St. Louis because I did not trust any recommends in Rolla anymore. So it's been four years since then and at a recommend of a good friend I tried Benton Square. I "Yelped" it and found Jakob had good reviews. So I made the appointment with him and I am REALLY happy I did. I told him what I wanted and he did exactly that. He is friendly and makes you feel at home as well as being knowledgeable and enjoying what he does. I will be back! I would truly recommend him!! read more

Since moving back to Missouri, I have been trying to find the right stylist for three years (!!!), and I'm overjoyed to say that I finally have! I walked in last week and explained to Elissa my frustrations with my hair and Jacob was standing there and offered to do a consultation. He understood my hair--knew all the right words to describe what I wanted, about my hair texture and how it will frizz and fray if cut incorrectly. I was hopeful. I had also seen pictures of his work, and was impressed. From the beginning to the end of my appointment, he was warm, personable, funny, understanding and a great conversationalist! He gave me exactly what I wanted. The color/balayage, and the cut he gave me look beautiful. He listens. He explains everything. He's conservative, in that he told me he'd go slowly with my bangs, and then we could adjust if necessary. He explained some techniques for styling. He made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I've had a long history of enjoying the salon experience, but with a stylist it's a combination of expertise and personality that keeps you coming back. But in my case, since I've started coloring my hair, I haven't found a good colorist/person who cuts my hair well/the right personality combo. Jacob really has a gift because my hair looks the best it's looked in years, and I've desperately been searching for a stylist. It isn't for lack of trying! Thank you, Jacob!!! Before I came in to see you today, I was seriously considering a large investment in hair scarves to cover my hair. You saved my hair!!!!!!!!! And you saved my confidence. I have been a "boxed hair dye" girl for over 40 years, but decided to splurge on the salon experience in hopes of covering my greys for more than a few hours. I called and made an appointment with Jacob after seeing some of his work on Facebook. I arrived at my appointed time and was greeted by a receptionist and was offered a drink and a cookie. Jacob walked in as soon as I sat down, so I had really no wait time, which was nice. I was asked what I was looking for, and what kind of expectations I had of my hair. After a brief discussion, the stylist began to work on my hair. He was professional and yet conversational and interesting throughout. I had more fun getting my hair done than I have ever had at a salon! Back to the service provided, Jacob gave a scalp massage during the shampoo, trimmed the stragglers that my (ex) stylist had left when she cut my hair, styled it beautifully when the color was done, and overall was just exceptional. He also advised me on letting my hair grow out, which I had asked about. The color and highlights I had done were certainly more expensive than a box of hair dye would have been, but they also look 100% better and were worth every penny. A hair cut and style, with a true professional and at such a beautiful salon, are just a few dollars higher than at the bargain basement places in town. I will definitely be going back! read more

He is very knowledgeable with color, highlights etc. He is very flexible with appointments (my last appt was for 8:30 am) and he is very honest giving his opinion when asked. I've gone to this salon for a few services. Some are absolutely fabulous, and others I am not a fan of. First, the good stuff: Traci is the esthetician and she is absolutely amazing. I do my brazillian with her every four weeks, and I've gotten a facial with her. She is quick and thorough, plus she chats it up and makes me feel really comfortable. I'm very picky about my estheticians, and she is definitely a good one. Traci also did my make-up once, and again, she's awesome! I had a daytime/natural look done. It was really nice to have someone do my makeup, and she was very reasonably priced!! Second, I've had my nails done here. They do shellack, which is great! But I got acrylic nails, and I didn't like them too much. They were too thick and lifted off of my nail after less than a week (like when I ran my hands through my hair). I tried it for a couple of fills, but I ended up just taking them off and not dealing with them. I was bummed-- I absolutely love acrylic nails. Thirdly, I've had my hair done here twice. It was by the same person, and I won't be going back. The first time, he put the color on my head and didn't rub a wax on my skin to prevent staining. I left and my head was stained for about 3 days... it was embarrassing. Also, I have white towels, and my first few washes at home resulted in the color coming off on my towels. I've been coloring my hair for over ten years; this has never happened anywhere else. The second time I went back, I wanted highlights on my color. He allowed me to choose if I wanted to do the roots (which was the original appointment) or just do color. He assured me it wouldn't matter either way. I opted for the less expensive option: just the color, not the roots. When he dried my hair, the roots were tiger striped because the color had lifted great than the rest of my hair. It was so horrible. He ended up redoing the entire appointment by just touching up my roots. I spent 4 hours there and left with what I originally came in to do (the roots). Such a waste of time and money, and it was hugely disappointing. I won't go back to him. :( There it is: Traci is so fabulous!! I have yet to find my Rolla loves for hair and nails, though. read more

So a week a go I came here to see Elizabeth (the wax girl) I needed to get my underarm wax. I left the place in pain under my armpits. I never had anyone wax like the way she does. When she waxes - she puts a lot pressure on the armpit with the wax paper(Not to mention she did a terrible job on my armpit even thou she has her dumb mini light telescope) but the pressure she put on my armpits hurt like crap!!! Two days later I noticed I have a lump on both my armpits. Now it's a week later and it still hurts and I have the lumps. Benton needs to get rid of Elizabeth.. how can they have a person that has no clue on waxing .. I don't care how long she has done it. She is careless. I do not recommend seeing Elizabeth. I will make sure all of my friends know not to see this girl and I will always mention about this person about my experience. I'm warning all of my yemembers about this person. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

I went into Benton Square Salon a couple of days ago and asked for long layers in my hair. Guess how much of a difference was between my layers? 2 INCHES?!?! That is not longer layers AT ALL. I am going to have to let my hair grow out and wait till I can cut it to the shorter layer length before I may be satisfied with my hair again. read more
