Innumerable maki with every permutation of ingredient they have in house (minus algae salad). Had great convo with him about American politics. Ambiance - was pretty chill. Went towards the end of lunch time so there weren't many people hence I didn't have to wait long for my orders. The place does have some bad reviews but I see nothing wrong here personally. I travel all over the US and Canada for work and I've been to many places to eat. I do not recommend if you are on a tight schedule as you might find the service long, especially on Friday nights. Also, parking is an issue in that area. We don't mind the service being long since it gives us time to catch up on any updates. As for the food, expect quality over quantity. It is not an all you can eat restaurant. The chicken pad Thai (I ordered) wasn't really pad Thai, it was more along the lines of Chinese stir fry with peanuts. All the dishes we ordered had the generic onions and peppers. It was also not very hot. I do not recommend the udon. I have heard better things about the sushi from online reviews so perhaps give that a try. We also asked for hot water, and that's when things took a bit of a turn. They said they didn't have cups to hold hot water in and could provide us with plastic cups. So we agreed. Then they brought over a tea pot, a single tea cup, and three plastic cups. What kind of Japanese place doesn't have tea equipment? With that said, I appreciate the effort in getting us what we asked for. The service was good. The ambiance is a modern sushi bar, it was nice.
