Not the case with this guy, he starts laughing at me and asking me " do you even know what a taper or a skin fade is? The difference?" I told him no sorry I don't. He thinks it's funny so he laughs more and he starts explaining to me but in a disrespectful manner mind you I am 36 years old. He asks what I would like after he explains and laughs and has his moment. He starts cutting my hair and the half way through the cut he ask me "where are you from?" I told him where I as from because I said I'm new to the area. At one point I gave him a confused look because the way he was cutting my hair and he asked me " you good" almost as if he was mad and taking his anger out. Starts combing my hair hard enough to the point where the comb hits my nose. His whole demeanor was very off during the whole haircut I won't be coming back here for one of the most disrespectful haircuts i've ever received. The total was $32.00 I gave him $40.00 with a 8.00 tip. I figured he needed it more than I did with his whole attitude. The vibe was off, the moment I walked in. Do better I'll make sure people stop coming to this shop. The guy needs to learn respect and he needs to grow up. Customers paying for your service don't need to be disrespected, grow up and do better.

Absolutely amazing experience at Bennetts barbershop! We were passing through Solvang on a family trip and little man needed a haircut really bad. We came across them on yelp and walked right in, they took us within 15 minutes (enough time to check out the pawn shop next door). They did great with little guy! Very patient and not quick to get frustrated when he didn't want to put on the cape cover. The whole haircut was so great and Juan did a wonderful job. Kept calm, did not get bothered with kiddo moved. And the owner came over to check in and even assist with the taper in the back! Great experience for a drop in experience. read more

It was nice to sit and hear of all the awesome plans he has for the space in an already welcoming environment. Came to Solvang on an extended vacation. When it was time for a haircut, I went to Bennetts because of the ratings on this site. I was very pleased. I agree with Bryan K's review: Mason was very professional and it was refreshing to experience the old time bells and whistles, e.g. the straight edge touch up, the hot towel and the after shave.
