My neighbor brought me peaches from Bennett Orchards and I swear to god they were the best peaches I have ever eaten in my life. I ate like 3 in a row they were so good. So I knew I needed to make a trip to the orchard. Yesterday I headed to the orchard w my 2 little nephews, and my niece. We had such a fun time. I had never been peach picking and it was very interesting to me to see how it is all done. First off the place is huge - there are so many sections so each night they report on the website if they have an area ready for picking. A very nice worker "trained" us and she was great w the kids who were getting a little out of hand with the excitement. Then we headed out with our wagon. The kids wanted to do a contest to see who could find the biggest peach and there were a lot to choose from. We picked 2 boxes of white peaches and yellow peaches and it was easy to do and so much fun. When we left we headed down the road to get some heirloom tomatoes bc the first thing I want to make w my peaches is a peach caprese salad!!!! read more

Came here the second week of August for pick your own peaches. We were greeted immediately by the most friendly staff. They quickly explained the picking logistics, handed us the proper box, and directed us to the best spot to start picking. We picked just over 13lbs (the minimum is 10lbs). We split the haul into two and each left with 14 perfect peaches. The orchards were packed with beautiful fruit. The parking was easily accessible and available. They even have recipe cards to take with you at the checkout area. Can confirm the peaches are super sweet and juicy! We'll definitely be back next season. read more

I went to the farmers market in Bethany on Sunday and attempted to buy fresh blueberries, but they sold out by 9:00 a.m. I followed the truck out to the Bennett Farm in Frankford (7 miles west of Bethany) and picked 4 pounds of blueberries for 1/2 the price! Get your blueberry on! The blueberries were plump, juicy, and sweet, perfect for blueberry pie, muffins, and smoothies. Worth a visit because blueberries are in full season. Great farm to pick blueberries! They have a four pound minimum, but you can definitely find many things to make with your blueberries once you get them home! We even ate a ton before arriving home! Easy drive from the beaches or Ocean Pines and they even take credit cards! read more

DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCE. Great marketing. Mediocre at best produce. They had a delicious peach sliced for tasting, nice signs, friendly sales person and a sign saying don't squeeze the peaches-that's because they were hard as a rock and not ripe. When we went back and asked for some softer ripe ones, he said there were none, that the ripe ones sold earlier in the morning and did not even go through the motions of checking. The blueberries were also quite tart, certainly no better than what you would find in the grocery story only much more expensive. The peaches were expensive also but would have been worth it had they been decent. Would NOT get anything from these people again. I have change my review. They were very nice at helping resolve the issue. They explained about not being able to pick the fruit ripe. I hope they tell all their patrons this and that would be a great help. read more

Beware the bait and switch: the fresh berries on display and out for samples are not what you're buying. The berries they sell you from the cooler are at least 4 days old, probably closer to a week. We got them home and they were soft and full of condensation from being in the fridge. I would not have bought even a pint of the 3 quarts I purchased if I'd sampled what I was actually buying. If we'd discovered the difference before our 3 hour trip home, I would have returned them. I find it surprising that people stand in line at the Lewes farmers' market for this. read more

I purchased peaches at the Bethany Farmers Mkt today for the first time; their booth was set up with rows of Quarts of GORGEOUS, big peaches. But when it was my turn, I couldn't choose my own. The fellow who waited on me places five peaches is a bag @ $5 per bag... That's $1 per piece of fruit. I understand what a grueling profession farming can be, but when I got my THREE QUARTS Home and looked at them, I found nothing like the peaches on display. I had fifteen small peaches. Not one piece was comparable to those displayed...come ON, GUYS! I felt DUPED! Never again. SORRY, BUT THAT WAS TERRIBLY MISLEADING! read more

I have lived at the beach for 11 years and have picked peaches for all those years. I have been picking blueberries since they began offering them. I have never had a bad experience. Everyone has been friendly and welcome families. I pick as often as I can. Believe it or not, my husband and I usually eat everything we pick...I wish I could bake with them but we love the freshness of the fruit, we usually just eat it. I hate it when the season ends but eagerly look forward the the next season. There is nothing better and picking fresh fruit off the tree....give it a try and I think you will be hooked! read more

Our family headed to Bennett Orchards with a multi-generational crew to pick blueberries on the 4th of July. We were all having fun hunting for the best berries and filling our buckets. One nephew was pitching blueberries into an uncle's mouth when the owner came hurrying down the row, yelling to stop throwing blueberries!! She is the owner!! Didn't her husband already speak to us??? He hadn't, and when I said so she just marched away. We weren't trying to be disrespectful to her hard work-she could have asked us to stop in a nicer way. Her over reaction was embarrassing and harsh. (For the record, they were 5 for 7, so only 2 berries were wasted.) 2 stars for yummy berries, but we won't be returning. read more
