This "Doctor" is a joke. He requested to see me twice within 7 days, did nothing for me and then asked me to leave a positive review. He could not even remember the reason for my visit. His office staff are a bunch of children. The kid who tried to take my blood (twice) could barely form a coherent English language sentence. "Doctor" Leeman also uses the same excuse ("Results were questionable" heard through the door) to perform the same tests over so he can charge your insurance company twice. I often wonder why someone would go through the time and expense required to get a Medical Degree when he or she has absolutely no desire to help patients. I am 60 years old, have been going to the doctor forever and this is the first and only time in my life where I have ever felt that a doctor had absolutely no interest, desire, or care to work with, or help me whatsoever. My story is, I supposedly needed to get pulmonology clearance for an ERCP Endoscopy due to intense gastrointestinal pain I was experiencing for over a month. I went to Leeman seeking this clearance and here is my non embellished, true experience: First Visit ($50 Copay) - He did a breathing test and told me it was "not too bad". He asked me to go get blood work and told him I had that with my Gastroenterologist, as well as Cardio clearance as well, and requested his office contact them for copies. He then told me to go get a chest X-ray and come back again, for which I went slogging in a rainstorm to get - that very same day. He made me go to his radiology place and refused to talk to anyone else for me. It was Zwanger-Peseri or nothing. I knew right there I was in some trouble here. No other Doctor is that inflexible. He mentioned to me several times about some app to make appointments on, so I even signed up for that and did as he asked. Did he know I did that? Nope. Clueless. Second Visit - ($50 copay) - He asked me to come back again with my medication vials in a bag to prove to him what meds I take. I have never EVER been asked that by any doctor I have EVER visited and thought this was way over the top, but since I thought I needed his help, I complied. So, like a bag lady I went back with my meds in hand a week later, still in pain, and he was not interested at all. He then did another breathing test which he told me "wasn't great" and that's it. He also loves to say the same thing all of the time" we like to get as much information as possible, we need blood work and cardiology information". I gave him all of this info at my first visit, where to obtain it as all of my blood work and clearances went to my Gastroenterologist, and I asked him to have his staff contact this doctor again because the insurance Company would never pay for another set of labs so close together, any Dr. would realize this. His response was "ok, make another appointment, are you are on my app"? Not trying to disrespect anyone, but the guy is clueless. Maybe this is why there are no workers in his office and I had to sit there for 20 minutes? After 20 minutes, I knocked on the door for to see if anyone was there, and he himself came to the door and told me to sit down, wait, and shut up. I continued to participate in the charade because I thought I needed this for my procedure as I mentioned. 3rd & final appointment: I refuse(d) to pay this $50 copay because I got absolutely nothing out of 2 prior visits, and was asked the same things over and over with his office not wanting to do anything at all to help me, including call my other doctor for lab work results and Cardio clearance. It was as though it was my first visit ever to him. He actually asked me again "what are you here for"? I was beside myself and noticeably annoyed at his lack of concern for the pain I was experiencing which I deeply conveyed. It is so bad I am thinking of reporting him to the AMA and NYS Medical board for just a total lack of patient awareness and care. As I said, I have never felt so unwanted at any Doctors office as I did at his. To conclude, I had my ERCP Endoscopy yesterday, did not need his help or clearance after all and wasted my wits, money, and time, so all I can do after that is warn anyone thinking of going to Doctor Benjamin Leeman TO STAY THE HECK AWAY unless you want to go to a Doctor who could care less about his patients well being. By far the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office. Maybe Dr. Leeman was having a bad day (based on all of the positive reviews the practice has) because I was treated poorly. My arm was yanked in order to take my blood pressure and my questions went unanswered. Dr. Leeman decided to send his medical assistant in to finish with me and he exited the room. **PLEASE READ** AVOID THIS "DOCTOR"** I made an appointment since he had so many positive reviews and it says he was named "best doctors of NY" (which after my experience I really wonder how he got that plaque) regardless I went to him after experiencing months with a terrible cough. At first i thought it was allergies. However, it got progressively worse pretty quickly where I would gasp for air at night. I explained to him everything that was going on and what i did to help with the symptoms. It seemed like it went through one ear and out the other. He did a breathing test, a EKG and blood work ( I never got the results from the blood work) At the end of my appointment with him, I went into his office and he said according to my breathing examination it shows I have asthma. I said well that's odd I am 38 years old and Ive never had asthma in my life nor does it run in my family. He said it happens, trust me its asthma. I said but I have been using the pump which they gave me. Initially, i went to urgent care and I told them I thought it could be allergies they gave me medication and a pump, but when I saw things getting worse I sought out a "specialist". I figured they would investigate more than a quick urgent care and since the pump was not helping I knew I needed something more. Well ladies and gentleman he is not a specialist he told me it was asthma no if and or buts as if he knew better because he was the doctor and I wasn't. He did not care to listen to me at all. He told me the reason the pump wasn't working for me was because I needed a spacer. Thats all he said and just kept asking me if I had a google account. He kept telling me he can show me how to rate his office. He wanted to get on my phone. I said no and he just kept asking me for my phone. I read the other reviews saying how he gives himself these wonderful reviews and i believe it. I was reluctant to give him my phone and and I'm glad I didn't. If not, I'm sure he would have gone to my account to give himself high ratings too. Regardless, I left and days later still had this terrible cough. The pump with the spacer did nothing for me and I ended up in the ER 5 days later. The doctor at NY Presbyterian was a professional and actually listened to me. I went because i was having chest pains and still having trouble breathing. They ruled out anything cardiac related but the doctor was VERY concerned with my cough. I told him it was asthma that I had just seen a pulmonologist. He asked me how long did I have asthma and is it always this bad. I said no i was just diagnosed. He said at 38? I said that's what I thought also! I said i don't feel well i don't know what's wrong but I know something isn't right and i don't think its asthma. He said ok lets do a ct scan. Thank God for doctors that actually listen! They found a tumor on my left lung and i was later diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. If i would have not had those chest pains and rushed to the hospital i would have just thought i had asthma and would have probably been dead by now! Literally! Especially since my cancer mutation type is a more aggressive type known as BRAF. GOD IS GOOD and I was treated by real professionals and now Im in remission after Chemo, a lung lobectomy and radiation. BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR AND AVOID AT ALL COST! IT MAY COST YOU YOUR LIFE THE WAY IT ALMOST COST ME MINE!! (I usually don't write reviews. If I do they are always positive, but in this case I truly feel the need to speak up because I could be saving someones life.) THIS DOCTOR IS A FRAUD AND IS NEGLIGENT! read more

I picked this doctors office because of the locations and the late hours on Wednesday. The first visit was okay, he ran test, okay cool. I received a call a few days later stating I have to re test for my urine and which I made an appointment for that. Let's forward to 7.23.18, I had an accident over the weekend, in which I did go to the ER, and had to follow up with my doctor as well get clearance for work. He did not even knowledge my knee (which was the issue why I was there), all he was speaking about are the test I did back in April, never looked at my knee. He was more concerned that I booked through Zocdoc, Dr. Leeman is not for his patients but for reviews. I will advise anyone to look elsewhere, a doctor that care about their patients and not reviews and zocdoc. Best of luck and I hope this review is helpful. read more

BEWARE! All this doctor cares about is reviews on social media and giving you unnecessary testing in order to bill your insurance. He scared me into coming into the office to review test results just so that he can charge me and repeat tests. I was misdiagnosed because I had to go for a second opinion because he was absolutely worthless. All he does is pressure you into leaving reviews and talks about the websites that he is on. He is an absolute joke of a doctor. He could care less about his patients. My first visit I waited for over 45 minutes in the waiting room until I was called in. Once I was brought into the exam room, I waited another 30 minutes. The dr finally came in, gathered some history and asked what I was there for. I was having really bad shortness of breath and he wanted to do a breathing test, EKG, blood work and a urine sample. After everything was done, I went into his office where he ended up prescribing me an inhaler since my breathing test came back not so good. He then started talking about leaving him reviews online and on zocdoc. My first thought was, I waited over an hour to see you, I can't breathe and your concerned about leaving reviews? I brushed it off and went for the CT scan. I have had cancer previously, which the doctor was aware of so waiting on results brings on a lot of anxiety for me. He called and told me that there was a finding but wouldn't give me any further information. He told me I could call back to speak to the front desk about making an appointment or a phone appointment. I said, you want me to make a phone appointment and I am on the phone with you now? It made no sense. I said I am really nervous and find this unsettling that you can't give me any further information, I asked if I could come in that same day and he said there was no availability. I called the front, and the next appointment wasn't for 6 days. After being extremely upset and nervous, my husband called and he completely changed his story. He said that he told me I can come in that same day if I wanted to, which was not what he told me. I was so scared of what the results were and didn't want to wait to find another doctor so I kept the appointment and decided to give him one more chance. The last appointment was not informative at all. In fact, I felt worse. He wasn't able to give me any kind of information on the nodule that I had, and scared me into thinking the absolute worst. He referred me to a surgeon in St. Francis and then AGAIN proceeded to talk about me leaving him a review. So two appointments later, I still cannot breathe, and on top of that am crazy anxious over the results that were never really explained to me. I was extremely disappointed by this experience. I work in the healthcare field and feel that I can relate to/understand certain situations, especially when things go wrong, so for me to write a bad review for healthcare says a lot. I picked Dr. Leeman because of the reviews on ZocDoc, which were very misleading. I went in for my annual visit, the receptionist was very dismissive and it was clear she did not enjoy her job. The medical assistant was a lot better. I did not get to see the doctor the entire time until I was sitting in his office-45 minutes later after a series of unexplained tests that I had to question to make sure it was allowed by my insurance. Finally, I met with the doctor who, as the previous comments mentioned, was very adamant on making sure I knew how to use ZocDoc to leave a review and book appointments. I shared with him a concern I've been having regarding my asthma/ bronchitis constantly glaring up. He suggested I get a Xray to which I explained I had just received one and could give him in the results, he insisted on getting a new one with no explanation- or rather no REAL explanation other than going around the question. Before leaving he mentioned he would take a look at my urine sample to which I explained no one had given me a cup or told me about one. He said he would check on it, upon walking out of his off in the middle of the hallway, was my urine cup with all my information on it (MAJOR HIPPA violation by the way). I asked why my cup was in the middle of the hallway to which the MA just said "oh I forgot to tell you." I left, less than impressed to say the least. If that wasn't bad enough, It took me almost a month to reach someone for my blood results. The doctor finally called me back, and despite me telling the doctor AND the MA several times about 2 specific blood tests (the only REAL reason I even went)- neither test was done nor was their any apology or explanation as to why they weren't done. On top of that there was no plan to fix the issue either. I asked, so far, twice since my appointment to have my results mailed to me and have yet to receive them. Avoid him. Same as some feedback below. Went in for specific problem, forced into running a myriad of tests that had nothing to do with it. Worst of all, my problem i came in about was brushed off and all focus of his ramblings were on these tests and how he could bribe people t ogive him good reviews on Zocdoc. Months later, they never even contacted me with any results or contact me at all. After going someplace else, turns out it was a quite serious problem that i went in for originally that he neglected. Other concerns found in bloodwork apparently weren't picked up by Leeman either since i got no call from anyone. Unethical practice but also pretty dangerous if others are treated this way. Oh, and what should have been a covered visit cost me hundreds because of all the un-covered-by-insurance tests he slipped in. He wants your money, not to help you. Went for a specific problem and was given a battery of unnecessary tests iincluding a urine test, EKG, and so on. I actually had to forcefully refuse blood work since I had everything with me. Then the pulmonary tests which is what I needed and came for were done by two very young girls who just were not capable. The one girl who was training the other girl was literally texting on her cell phone the entire time. Was completely distracted, not hearing the other girls questions. The other girl was eager to earn but was so nervous and young. It was a joke! The doctor was so interested in selling zoc doc and asking for reviews. Would not recommend unless you can't find anyone else and are desperate as they have many appointments available. read more

I went for a routine annual physical and while I thought he was just being very thorough, I found out afterwards that most of the tests he / his staff had me take were NOT covered by my insurance plan. When I called him to speak to him about it, he basically put the blame on me and said I should've told him I didn't want any tests done that were not covered by my insurance. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I don't write too many Yelp reviews but when I do, it's because I feel so compelled to do so for excellent service, or... horrible service. I visited this particular doctor with my fiancé because his asthma has gotten worse over the year. So... for the receptionists- let's not discuss that. I guess the same girl who was on the phone back in 2014 is still there (refer to first review posted)! The med tech or assistant was awesome- I wish I got her name. Now on with the doctor. After being there for about an hour, doing various redundant testings, we were brought into the doctor's office to review my fiancé's results, hoping for some kind of answer or help. As per the doctor and according to the tests, my fiancé has severe asthma... DING, DING, DING! The doctor recommended a chest x-ray before he prescribed medication or treated my fiancé which couldn't be done during the same visit. Fair. But after, he tried SO very hard to persuade us to write him a review on Yelp, Zoc Doc, and Google... he discussed his own reviews more than my fiancé's condition. I was so taken back by this brainless conversation and politely noted that he did nothing to treat my fiancé yet so how can I possibly rate him? All in all, my fiancé ended up hospitalized the following weekend and was seen by a very, very professional pulmonologist who did not try to sell her practice to us- she will be our go-to pulmo now! Benjamin Leeman is so unbelievably unprofessional. My fiancé and I wanted to visit this doctor's practice because we saw great reviews on Zoc Doc and Google. Now we know- he practically forced himself on his patients for these reviews! We'll never be seeing him again! read more

I met this "DOCTOR" in the Franklin Hospital ER after suffering a massive heart attack. I came in on a Saturday night, and was in terrible pain, actually moaning(I am a former College and Junior A Hockey player, (I know pain and can take lots of it). Leeman spent 5 minutes with me. Meanwhile, the nurses(who were great) were shooting me up with morphine regularly to manage the pain, and alerted me(as they rolled their eyes) that the Dr wrote on my chart that I had no pain and was getting ready to discharge me from the hospital. When he came to my bedside, he explained that I should follow up on Monday with a cardiologist, and that since I am no longer in terrible pain, he was releasing me! I explained to this quack that I am full of morphine and asked him about the enzime level in my bloodwork showing a cardiac event! He gave me the "deer in the headlights look". I just happened to sit on a corporate board with the Director of this ER and told him that I will wait untill the Director gets in, and that he and I are done talking! Five minutes after the director came in and saw me, a private ambulance was called to rush me to Winthrop for a cath, angio and stents, saving my life! My LAD was clogged and they explained that I shouldn't even be alive. Especially 24 hours after the event, and Dr Benjamin J Leeman wanted to send me walking home down the road to my death! Funny when I told this story about Leeman to my own cardiologist, he was amazed, but said nothing, but a few of the office staff overheard and later told me that Leeman had worked in their medical group and was asked to leave, and that all the patients and nursing staff hated him and viewed him a incompetent! The kicker to the story is he had the balls to send me a 400 dollar bill a few months later. I explained to his office, that if he ever contacted me again in anyway, I would report him the the New York State Medical Board. I never heard from him again!
