It was the day after Christmas, at 8 in the morning when my son discovered we had a substantial leak in the pipe going to our waterheater. At first we thought we'd never find anyone to fix it. Happy to be wrong! Daniel showed up before 8:30 with a smile on his face. He was happy to be working the day after Christmas and even thanked us for that. The problem needed a replacement part, that he wasn't sure they had. He was up front with all he was doing, we appreciated his honesty. I can truly say this is the most rip-off I have ever seen and I got 3 other Plummers to confirm before I ever made this post as I don't rant about company's, being a business owner myself. I did not call as my opinion you all should do better at vetting your lazy techs that want to rip off old people and the fact i been referring you all for years makes me sick. this is my mother and father in law and i take care of things around the property and help out do to there health issues. The fact I had panels removed and wide open the fact it was a dripping leak and fresh water and the fact its a concrete slab that was damp not even a inch of water this jack ass charged my in laws 726 dollar's for so called difficult access. the dam pipe was 6 feet in and completely visible not like it was hidden. the cost of the fix was fare and proper 421.00 it was close to what the other 3 said it would have cost. ALL agreed he ripped my in laws off because he didn't want to do it and instead of my in laws calling me first they just said ok and let this jerk rip them off because he told them its that cost, or he needs to turn off there water for 3 days and let it dry under there. First off if i turned off the water it would dry in 2 hours if that. this was in march 31 and I'm still enraged and absolutely bull shit to feed a lie like that to get paid this insane amount for less than 1 hour of work on a dripping pipe. I have never written a review before in my life. I always say I'm going to, but things get busy and I forget. I cannot say enough good things about their service. I had a serious issue with my plumbing and needed immediate help. Other companies told me that they would be days, or even weeks, to help. Benjamin Franklin was out to assist us the very next day. Not only were they fast, but they were thorough. They took the time to snake out my line multiple times and got great pictures as evidence of the problem. The technician, Evan, even gave the town a call to discuss the issue. Evan went above and beyond and I cannot recommend him enough. I can promise you that if I have another problem with my plumbing, I will call Benjamin Franklin specifically and I will request for Evan. He gained my trust and really showed that he cares about his costumer. In addition, the cost was very reasonable for all of the work that they did. I will never use them again or recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. After two visits, they told me I needed a new furnace and signed me up for financing at an interest rate of 9.99% and under $17,000.00 included water and air filter with the furnace. Thank God the technician left out the dirty filter and proved to me that nothing was wrong with my furnace but a dirty filter. The filter was so dirty the furnace lost suction, but with no dirty filter replaced, my furnace works great. I was shocked to be lied to and taken advantage of to this degree. I'm a single senior citizen and felt taken advantage to the maximum. Be careful their employees make commission off of what they sell. I requested a quote on fixing a leaky outside spigot. Plumbers arrived on time and were courteous, which is why the 2 stars. I was told he needed to go through the crawl space, cut the installation and remove spigot from there, making it sound like a huge job. He had me sign an agreement. $550.00. One minute later, he realized it could be accessed under my kitchen sink. 15 minutes later, with a $40 spigot screwed in, he was done. I wasn't even given any paperwork, receipt or acknowledgement of work done. I am a senior, and I was complete taken advantage of because they knew I'd been without water over the weekend. I expected our service call to be weeks out but was happily surprised to have an appt within 24 hrs. I was both texted and called to confirm, and Alex Burruel was right on time. Do not use this company for any reason even if it is an emergency, $910 for an hours work on a small job. Then quoted a price three times more than out of town company, which by the way has excellent reviews, for another plumbing repair. I also know this franchise company has has bad reviews for a long time. I live in Gunnison and was put off and forgotten by Alpha Mechanical. I reset the appointment but, not before it was suggested that I may need to replace my boiler for $10k. Really? I called Ben Franklin and they had a service tech here the next day. Guess what? No new boiler, just a thorough cleaning and service. $486.00. Ben Franklin came out to look at a job that we called them about in April. We knew we had a slow leak between the main water line and our house. We were told they could get to it the next day. It is our fault we did not ask for an estimate, but did not get one. They sent another small company out to do the job because they were too busy, but we were not told that. It was an involved job, we had to have concrete taken out to get to leak. It was done all in 2 days. We were gouged and amazed at price charged! What a disappointment! The area was left and not cleaned up where the digging was done. And Ben Franklin did not follow up with us to see how the job turned out. Ben Franklin got paid also, even though they did nothing but refer the job to another business. We will not use them again. read more

They were the only company in town who could next day replace a 30 year old furnace. I expected to pay a bit more because of the urgency and appreciated the response time. They were personable and professional and seemed to care about my situation. Later, I had some plumbing work with them and I thought their prices were on the high side. They came down some on that, but I still think it was higher than is should have been. I always wonder if women get treated differently with pricing. Not just them, but other local plumbers. Overall, satisfied but felt vulnerable to price inflation due to my gender. Their strength was the personalized approach. They offer financing but interest rates are high. read more

Plugged right back up they day after and the charge was almost $300.00 Called another plumber who identified that the plumbing was not lined up right. While this was about 2 1/2 years ago, I wanted to make sure to leave a review on Yelp. After a heavy snowfall and falling temperatures, my elderly MILs heater went out. We called Source Gas at noon who insisted on charging $250 to come out the same day, but would only charge $85 if she waited until the next day. We called Ben Franklin Plumbing and they came out the same day without inflated costs for the same day visit. Come to find out, the heater not only was not working properly, but was quite dangerous. The technician took the time to explain the problem and pointed out the damage on the heater. By the very next morning, Ben Franklin reps were there replacing the heater. They wore shoe guards and kept the space in the home clean. From the first call to the final inspection, the reps and technicians were professional and courteous. Thank goodness we didn't depend on Source Gas, and went straight to the professionals. A special thank you goes out to Marie, Royce, and Phillip. Thank you!
