The 18 hole course is really good. I only played 9 of the holes but its really picturesque and difficulty wise its very varied. The driving range is fantastic and really well organised. Its more sociable than a lot of other ranges too as they don't have walls up in between you. At £3.25 for 50 balls its one of the cheapest in the area too!

From the 12th hole, you get the most amazing view of the sea. You can see Beachy Head and I could just about make out the Ilse of White in the distance. The course itself has a good balance between difficult and easy. I'm a pretty awful player so a few of the holes were beyond me but when the views are this good its hard to get in a bad mood!

Also found myself in a big ditch after using the driver on the 8th (blind shot down the hill). I'll notch this up to a learning experience. Much tighter fairways than I am used to so quite a challenge but fantastic setting. The course was in poor condition in my opinion as it has been so dry which resulted in hard ground and some cracking on/around the greens. Also, astroturf path on approach to 2nd green which is poor design and none of the bunkers had been raked. I would be disappointed if I had paid standard day rate but as a twilight round it represents good value for money. The light went after 9 holes so I can't comment on the back 9 but I understand they are perhaps better than the front holes. The bar was open when I arrived but had shut by the time we finished (9pm) so I cannot comment on it. The pro shop looked good.

The venue was perfect for our 80+ guests. The buffet was served promptly, was attractively presented and the food fresh and interesting. The staff worked hard all night and were cheerful and helpful throughout. We had a fantastic evening and many of our guests have since commented on the overall excellence of the venue and the food. Membership prices vary largely depending on age occupation and level of membership you want. My favourite hole on this course is the drop hole or 'the valley' which can take any sort of club depending on how you want to play it! This course has so many different challenges that make it so interesting and their website offers tips of how to play every hole so you can master this course. There are so many open tournaments that almost anyone can join even if your handicap isn't the best. If you love golf this course is well worth a crack as you can pay and play which for people who can't afford memberships is a god send.
