My make up has never looked this good even when I was in the Miss World Pageant. I learned Susan's secret, Alison Andrews Skin Therapy Institute & Day Spa. This past week I went. I was REALLY nervous about having a facial since all 4 times I had a facial I ended up with rosacea which lasted 4-9 months accompanied by multiple visits to the dermatologist, pills and topical creams to return back to normal. Well 3 days later my skin is MARVELOUS no rosacea and my skin is so soft. In fact the first night when washed my face I had everyone in my family feel how soft my face was. I never knew skin could be so soft. When I went to Alison Andrews Spa I was thinking they would just mix make up to match my skin color so I would look porcelain like. What I did not know was things were specially added for my specific skin conditions. The foundation had extra moisture for my dry skin and wrinkles. I never understood all these serums and creams for this and lotions for that. I always thought they were just trying to up sell me. I love that most of the things are mixed in my special foundation. Well not only did I get an education I experienced the amazing transformation! My blush goes on so smoothly. I mix my dryer concealer (Mac) with the one from Alison Andrews for really great coverage under my eyes since I have dark circles. My make up looks great all day long, no touch and not drying. if gwadys isn't available, don't go here. christo and the other ladies that she brings in are not…read moreas skilled, extremely slow and not very professional. i went here first as a result of a referral from a friend who uses gwadys, gwadys wasn't available but she secured another braided. unfortunately, i didn't recall this ladies name. she was fast and focused & did a great job. my braids were neat and look exactly like the picture we referenced. the braids weren't tight or pulling on my scalp. i loved it! i called 3 weeks later to get re-braided with who i thought would be the same woman who braided be last time. it was not. before booking the appointment, i stressed to christo that i needed to be done in time to be back in the city for an appointment, so we scheduled an early morning appointment... they were 30 minutes late. next she proceeds to comb & part my hair with a comb that is missing more teeth then it has, so you can imagine how often my hair kept snagging. she also kept pulling and yanking my head. it was insane. did i get out in time to make my appointment? NO! in fact, it wasn't for an hour after i should've been out the door that they finished. and an additional person had to help. and in their haste they made by front braids about 3 times as large as the other braids ... it looked ridiculous. the braids were so tight and i've lost hair at my temple on my edges as a result. i called back the same day and demanded that they take the braids down at no cost and christo was very argumentative and said she'd call me back. i'm still waiting for that call. *if you have a problem with your braider talking on the phone while doing your hair, this definitely isn't the place to go. they'll talk on the phone until their battery dies.

First and foremost, the store reeks of an old, overflowing ashtray. It was disgusting. Second, I had to step over mounds of trash to get to the door. This included but was not limited to: A dirty diaper, a broken booze bottle and various plastic bottles and cups I walked in and there were two ladies standing behind the register, one brunette, one blonde. The brunette was ringing a lady up. I asked the blonde if they could break a twenty for me, as I needed to dry some clothes next door. (They were the only business close and it was -10 degrees this day. I get it that some businesses want to not deal with tedious things like breaking a twenty, I really do.) The blonde asked me if I had a professional hair stylist license. I said no and asked if they needed one to break a twenty. She said yes, I do need one to open the register. (Remember that lady who was being rung up? Yeah. The register was open.) I jokingly said "Wow, you should put a sign on your door." Then both workers started screaming insults at me like a couple of crazy banshees. So, you know. They could definitely use some customer service refresher courses. And some air freshener. And a broom.
